  1. There is a girl Beddie still missing from Alice Springs her name is Lola, she disappeared while her owner was in SA. After reading about the cat picked up in Rocky QLD and being taken to Melbourne nothing surprises me.
  2. Stage 1 - You have early symptoms if You think that any show within 300 miles in nearby You begin to enjoy getting up at 5 AM to walk and feed dogs It is fun for you to spend several hours a day grooming dogs You think you're being frugal if you spend less that $3,000 a year on shows You can't remember what it was like to have just one dog Stage 2 - You definitely have the disease if: Your most important factor when buying a car is how many crates you can fit in it When looking for a new home, the first thing you consider is how many dogs you can kennel on the property Your dog food bill is higher than your family's grocery bill You spend as much on veterinarians as you do on doctors You have no money because of showing dogs You have to buy more than one vehicle a year, because you keep burning out the 7-year or 70,000 mile warranty going to shows You have more pictures of your dogs than of your family Your idea of a fun vacation is to hit the show circuit Most of your conversations revolve around dogs Stage 3 - You have a terminal case if: you wake up in the morning to find out that you put the kids in the crates and the dogs in the beds last night You know each dog's name and pedigree, but can't figure out who that stranger in the house is; it turns out to be your spouse Your neighbors keep insisting that those kids running around your house bothering the dogs are yours You keep telling the kids to "heel" and can't understand why they won't, and why they keep objecting to the choke chain You cash in the kid's college trust fund to campaign the dogs You've been on the road showing dogs so long you can't remember where you live Your family tells you "It's either the dogs or us;" you choose the dogs Do you have this dreaded disease? Well, there is hope. In the course of our research, we have found that most cases seem to stop at Stage 2, and remain chronic. We have, with great difficulty, managed to acquire several Stage 3 ACOS patients. They are currently in our isolation wards, where we are studying them to gain a better understanding of this disease. It is a sad sight, seeing these formerly vibrant people as they shuffle around their rooms in endless triangle or L-patterns, making odd hand motions as if holding a lead and baiting a dog, and making chirping noises. Merely saying the word "Westminster" can send them into an uncontrollable frenzy. Unfortunately, there isn't much hope for these cases, but with time and research to further understand this disease, we hope to come up with a cure. We are no attempting to isolate the causative agent and may be able to develop a vaccine in the future. An interesting sidelight of this disease seems to be that exposure at an early age has an immunizing effect. Several people afflicted with ACOS at Stage 1 and Stage 2 have close family members (children/spouses) who have absolutely no disease. It is thought by some of our researchers that this may be due to environmental effects, to an age-related immune function, or to the fact that those with the disease tend not to associate with their close family members, possibly due to the memory deficit induced by the disease - that is, they don't remember they have close family members! What can you do to prevent this disease? Until a cure is found, prevention is the best measure. Avoid kennels advertising "show stock," since it may be the dogs that are the carriers of the disease. Leave town when there is a local show. If you inadvertently come into contact with an ACOS-afflicted person, leave as soon as possible (they do tend to cling) and thoroughly shower, preferably with a germicidal soap. If you are living with an ACOS sufferer, take comfort that if you haven't succumbed yet, you are probably safe. Author Unknown

  4. mwahhhhhhhhhhhh my toys, good grief look at those teeth
  5. 2002 I paid for a German Shepherd $750.00 , in 2010 I bought from the same breeder and paid $1200 2004 I paid for a German Shepherd $800.00 all main registered 2 oldies are champions young one not far off and very sparodically shown, I would never buy a dog on a limited register either.
  6. This is the dangerous bit. It could have repercussions for registered breeders as well as pet shops. And so it should, they should all be accountable
  7. still around i used it for a fair while but too much poo for me put them back on optimum.
  8. she is a labrador lol and she is old my oldies pant in the heat or the cool
  9. I love my hydrobath and have had the same one for 20 odd years, the heater doesnt work but I never used it anyway, it has never missed a beat and has only ever had FIDOS free itch rinse, when I bought it I thought $800.00 was exy . I use it 52 times a years and have also been known to wash an odd cat or 2 in it. My dogs except for 1 love it and they always try to get back in I had one dog who always had 4 baths. I would love someone to make a fold up portable one to take with me when traverlling that fitted under the caravan bed,
  10. I put ear drops in Olivers ears in the hdrobath where he cant get away, then after about 15 mins I put him back in and clean them with ear wipes. Any where else and it is mission impossible
  11. Does not matter the breed another nail
  12. My neighbour is such a dickhead, they have a beautiful shall we say cross breed muscly whole male, and leaves his gates open. What a tool I have closed them again and now the dog can jump the fence, arghhhhhhhhhhhh why dont people listen he has the back of his yard 6 foot all round on a large block but no he leaves this gorgeous animal in the front. I am going to speak to him again
  13. we will all end up having a dog under 10 kilos in the future if we can have a dog at all. I love my GSD'S but am very wary of getting another at this moment in time, and I would never again have a bull breed with all this crap going on. My friends dog was euthanised the other day due to grabbing another dog and the owner was bitten as well. Story We had a big storm and the wind knocked down part of the gate person walking past with little fluffy dog leaves the yard and hence fllittle dog and owner got bitten ambulance had to be called for the elderly gentleman. The dog was restrained to the yard the fence fixed then said dog was trying to get the neighbours dog under the fence. (never did this before) dog was to be declared dangwerous and a cage built that the dog was to live in so the decision was made. Before anyone says the owner should have kept the dog, just think would you take the risk with 2 small children and a dog confined to a 10x10 cage. The dog would go nutty.
  14. they can ban any breed whatsoever from their local shire, their shire their local laws
  15. Bluemax GSD ? Thats the one they have boarding kennels there
  16. try boarding kennels run by GSD breeders there are a few around. When I used to board my older bitch when she was young (lol) she was not let out of her pen, whatsoever, she was fed under the gate and she seemed fine . I would rather my dog be kept confined that cause an injury. I hope you can find somewhere as I know where you are coming from and most kennels are built to enable the dogs kept in the pens. There is one at Helidon and another at Sheldon
