  1. I use the Vets all Natural supp. smells gross:-). It is expensive, but you only use a smidgen. I mainly bought it for my sons amstaff, but i give it to my 2 as well. Thought id try it since i bought it:-),
  2. my father-in-law, when he was alive, (and when you could do it without being banned), had a cattle dog called cindy, who went to the pub with him for 17years. They walked up to the pub from home,as it was only a few doors away and she would sit in the bar with him. She had a packet of cheezels every time they went.
  3. Tell the cat he is of no use to the training programme whatsoever;-). Its not like your dog is small either, that would be some yank on the bike. Hope all good.Amazing how much further the dogs are willing to go when the weather is cooler. Had a good run this morn.
  4. hey spotted devil should we take a stapper for the strapper
  5. I'm going show training soon. this will be a kack!!!!!!!!!! Hope it doesnt rain:-) the girl i think will last better at endurance than Jones,he's such a couch. but hey what you do for one you gotta do for both, isnt that the way it works:-). she's only 9months now so she will have to wait a looooooooooooooong time
  6. Saturday July 3 What is a strapper? in case we throw a fetlock:-)
  7. Thanks for that dyzney. Always good to have tips that make the day enjoyable
  8. its about time they started tattooing scum like this across the forehead, with im a waste of F###ing space. I cant even comprehend what goes through their heads. As ive always said, until penalties become something to think twice about, it will not stop
  9. spotted devil, have a look on ebay for something don't buy anything new. You should be able to pick up something with good components on it there. Theres a few of us on here that know enough about bikes to tell you if its a good buy of not. Just go to the local bike shop get measured up for what size bike and get some info off them and then hunt around second had.TerraNik,bryan and myself all ride so just ask.
  10. Likewise, i live in the city, and i have a friend who is aACO in Ipswich and she is a wonderful caring human being, and i cant imagine her ever hurting an animal. I have had issues with certain departments, but never them
  11. Aah spotted devil, we'll have to fill napsacks full of rocks for you:-)put you back in army mode. Yeh there might be just a bit too much height difference for you to lift the seat high enough. thinking more about your back here.Do you have a deep pool close by that after your run, you could put a bouancy belt on and tred water for 1/2 an hr after your run, that is amazing for your back.
  12. Looks perfectly suited, Sandra - should be able to chill out nicely in the breaks. - Yep - I'm the same - my boy's not 2 till September, so I've got plenty of time before next year's test - only 1 a year here - sometimes one every two years. Sorry Tassie i just realised i never replied to you. Yes thats my boy thats his daily routine, go for a walk/run then crash for the day:)
  13. All praise to you!! I can't imagine running the full 20km. There may be smoke coming out of one of my knees and my tiny lungs would be protesting. Riding 20 km on the other hand...... I commute 30 km a day (15km each way) and often can't remember any of the trip as I have been day dreaming all the way. You might be able to fiddle with the set up of your bike to take the pressure off your back. Pavement pounding is going to be rough on a bad back. i agree riding would have to be less impact on your back as long as bike is set up correctly. 20k is a huge distance to run if your not used to it. Ive done 5 1/2 marathons, many years ago and the most i run now is probably 15. i usually run between 70 -90 k a week if i have a good week. of late ive only been on the bike maybe twice a week if lucky. Always seems to be raining when im free and clear sky when at work. Bryan you could get one of those dog walkie things that attach to your bike so your baby feels relaxed.
  14. If you want revenue towards the 30%, just visit next door to me. Theres 2 fines sitting there. unfenced unregistered. I will e-mail you the address
  15. There's a seafood shop right next to durack grounds(next to the servo on the corner) they have frozen rabbits. Thats the only one i know of
  16. Well Gap was challenging this morn. Gotta love those tree roots in the wet....did my quick 30k minus the dog:-). oops new i forgot something....nah ill take him out this arv for a nice lil 10k run( i'll run not ride). He can sort of cope with that at the moment with a few drink stops . At least its cooler here at the moment.
  17. I use advantix fornightly, and like you Kaye live on the river, so we have ticks and snakes, DBL WHAMMIE....I have bought tick collars but never used them, never been game...We do have a cat, and never had any dramas, but i always put it on them in the morning after a bath, and the cat never really mingles with them unless she tries to round up sheep with them, now thats a site
  18. by the way this is the dog in question to do the endurance:-) do you think he has it in him. He wont be 2 until the end of the year thank goodness ive got time up my sleeve what sort of dog /dogs do you have bryan. better ask that questions since we're not on mtb dirt :-)
  19. I'm with you casowner, sick and tired of irresponsible people who dont do a thing to keep their animals in and dont feed them properly which makes them hungry and aggressive, which brings them into my yard looking for food and attacking my livestock. Cost us a fortune in extra fencing to keep neighbours dogs out of our front and back paddocks. Ours dogs are contained in the acre around the house, and then the idiot next door brings home a chihuahua with a skin problem that just walks through the dog mesh, and barks all night long. Cant win. At least the other 2 unsocialised big dogs cant get into my dogs
  20. yes i think our pace of endurance with the dogs is low key enough now..Getting too old to be wrapped around trees. Head injury is a totally different story that is scary stuff
  21. Alright that's it, I'm out, I refuse to wear bike shorts Other competitors would be thankful for that just get a pair of bike knicks and put normal shorts over the top Or you can buy some mountain bike shorts - they have built in knicks under the shorts and it just looks like you're wearing shorts. The knicks under normal shorts is probably cheaper though. I used to do downhill and xc. Had some pretty bad injuries a couple years back and haven't ridden for 18 months (lack of time and I don't want any more broken limbs!) My poor bike (like yours, costs the same as a small car!) has been sitting in the shed. I'll be riding my cheapo hardtail for the ET. sounds like my OH. He's had that many bad accidents from downhill and moto dirt bike, its a wonder im not pushing him around. gotta love the dirt though.......he has no jugular vein on one side and shoulder is wrecked. his hip is not existent just about, and every other limb has been stuffed up somehow:-)
  22. How bout they start putting up big rewards for info on these idiots. Their best mates would dob them in (or whoever did the callous act) in a heart beat for a couple of thousand i recon. The sooner they start posting rewards for information that lead to a prosecution the better, and then what you have spent on rewards you charge double in fines
  23. Hi, did anyone else here the report on the radio this morn about an amstaff that had been dumped at bribie where they had tied zippy ties around his private area(for around a week)trying to perform some sort of castration on the poor dog
  24. i am bryan_mannix. im a taker for 2011. The bikes dont worry me as i have ridden them for 25years, i ride endurance mountain biking every week, so anyone want tips on keeping it together just let me know:-) i was thinking of running it as i used to do 1/2 marathons years ago. Good news. Lets hope we can a get little group on DOL interested and share experiences along the way. The bike part the easy bit for me too. Perhaps I have bumped into you whizzing around Gap Creek or up at the Flight Centre Epic. Good to know there is another XC mtb rider on here! probably have nearly run into each other at gap bryan. I would either be on a merida carbon hardtail, or my baby the black blur lt.
