  1. I think pet shops sell it, best wait till the chewing stops before you re varnish in case varnish is toxic.
  2. I have no idea. But if you cover the stair with bitter lime it should stop Cara. :D
  3. Masons mom give Mason a big treat for me! Poor boy. Some people are idiots and let down dogs so badly. :D
  4. Mim I got some 'scavangers find' from there and it was in a plastic bag.
  5. I will be recommencing training activities tomorow 1 week after surgery should be enough right? The dogs are going insane!
  6. Welcome newbs! The club at Eden Hills is more an agility club but Midland might be a good place to start out in obidience. Also Congratulations WA over 100 pages!!!
  7. It also depends on Lab type. This is Bronson, a show bred lab from WA who is 10 and represents when a different 'type' was in fashion (and one I personally prefer). He is the absolute max height for a lab but at 10 going on 11 has no joint problems and will still do the jumps in my backyard, he is and always has been a very active dog.
  8. It's fine Kavik. Bronson is my friends lab and Masons (the lab's) cousin so I knew Masons Mom would get the reference.
  9. Sas I think the issue the OP was discussing was could a lab be winning, not could a lab compete.
  10. So they are still a hit then???? Yes, because I am still not 100% he is playing fetch instead of walking and I will throw the ball and he will come the long way back over the jumps in the backyard squeaking all the way. ;) He is seriously an addict and he just gets this obssesed look for it, more then for anything (including food and sheep).
  11. Once Toby worked for pear at class. However now Toby will work for iSqueak
  12. Off topic but that is a very nice dog!! Interesting that going slighly downhill (from hip to shoulder) is not a fault in the breed. The original standard (early 1900's) specified hindquaters higher then withers as it was thought to make the dogs swim faster. After that theory was disproven both a level and 'slightly hollow' toplines were allowed and have been since, although the latter is seen more frequently in the breed.
  13. Yes Lincoln will def be jumping 600 My agility instructor said something to me once I will never forget, it was when I was unsure about Tobys agility carrer because he had broken his leg so young, he said a dog is only in the ring for a minute or so and won't do more then 20(? forgotten the right amount) obstacles. Unless you train jumps for like an hour a day a few jumps a day won't have a huge impact on a healthy dog. I limit my training over jumps with Toby and train at a lower height at home because of his leg. Except for the handling side of things jumps are pretty much the same object as the day before and the day before that.
  14. The standard height is males 58-66cms at wither Females 53-61cms at withers. For comparison Labs are 56-61cm dogs and bitches 53-58cms, however Bronson is 61cms at withers and evryone comments how he is "oversize" so picture a REALLY tall lab. Lincolns dad is a big dog, here is a pic:
  15. For my Chesapeake his agility training will commence at 2 and I will take over 6 months to have him jumping full height. In the meantime I am going to try my hand at retrieving, obidience and tracking (he is also a show dog). The slowest dog can win if it is the only one to jump clear. :D Don't let what people say put you off a breed you love. Chesapeakes (in the states) compete and win in agility trials, the Canadian National team had a Lab on it a few years ago, look at the FCI world team lists, you will find Lab's and Goldies. (Among all the BC's )
  16. I think I could train Lincoln with dirt and he would act like it's the greatest food in the world.
  17. I know I was like to them you realise if you get a house that is too good I will never leave home.
  18. The house was in Kalamunda. My parents decided they will probably build because they are so fussy. But have been looking at a over 1.5 acre block in the same area so it should be ok! Hopefully we won't have to move
  19. Did you mix the 2 kibble together for awhile Valley? I changed Mason from Advance to Eagle Pack Holistic, I just mixed what I had left of the Advance with the EP Holsitic and Mason was fine, I have to be careful with him as he gets the runs in the blink of an eye but saying that since we have been on the new food he is 100% better. He is still getting about 50/50 but I was chatting to dad earlier and he has been eating sand (again) so I think this is the cause as his poos were fine last week (we started introducing EP 2 weeks ago).
  20. How long would you allow a new food 'adjustment' period? Lincoln is changing kibble (from RC to EP Holistic Select) and he has runny poos atm, but I read somewhere that you should a couple of weeks for thie gut to adjust.
  21. Yes I have 3 dogs we really didn't expect the possible move. I did read on the websites about both Swan and Kalamunda will grant you up to 6 dog licences BUT they may say one thing and do another (plus both mention if dogs are well behaved, which mine almost are ). Mundaring says they will on thier website but I know Mirawee has had difficulties with them over dog licences on a 100 acre property. On the plus side I found a nice house, with a pool, a big yard for my agility equipment and just down the road from an awesome dog park.
  22. So since the family is probably up and moving ( ) does anyone know how hard it is to get multiple dog licences in Swan, Kalamunda and Mundaring shires respectively? (Because we are allowed 3 dogs here due to land size but will have issues if we move back to suburbia )
  23. WA has very few ADAA events, so that would be less of a concern. But the more I think about teaching contacts the more I don't know which method the more 2o2o seems sensible.
  24. She sure is different to the majority. Still not sure my contact method yet but I would love to teach Toby running contacts.
  25. I am such a mean mum. Toby's blue is his broken, non squeaky one but its the only one he is allowed at the moment, although I see him eyeing off the red one!
