Ruby Star you can always borrow Lincon, he is just under 5 months and is already taller then Toby who was measured at 50cm exactly! He will look mighty cute doing a dogwalk though.
-
Lol I am interested but seeing as I have tracking on a saturday and obedience on a sunday I say my chances of making it to a meet slim to none unless its on the Anzac Monday Anzac Monday sounds good, I didn't realise we got that off!

This is Bronson who is 10 going on 11 in November. His coat has been getting thicker every year but he is still as thin and active as ever. Bronson is from a well known kennel in WA and is related to Masons Mom's Mason. You might recognise this pic as the sig of a DOLer (Bronson's owner Todd_bre) who asked me to make his this in photoshop.

I took Lincoln to Train a Pup time and found it absolutely brilliant! Link Here Had a quick look at their website and looks great!! Will give them a call tomorrow. Where are the classes held? Couldn't see that on the site. Oh someone else asked .. I'm in Vic Park and willing to travel within 3Okms Its near K9 in Southern River. I can't recommend her highly enough and happily traveled all the way from Helena Valley every Saturday to get there. Just read her website some more and sounds fab!!! I'm going to book him in tomorrow. Very reasonable price too and Southern River is close to me. Yay. Just hope she has room for my little man What age did Lincoln start there? He started at 9 weeks old. She runs a few courses at a time so you should be able to find a day/time that suits. Did I miss something though? When did you get a new pup?

The quote isn't supposed to hilight type difference but the weight difference. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Just an interesting tidbit from a website: Henk fit for show (37 kilos - 81.5 lbs) Henk fit for field trial (28 kilos - 61.7 lbs)
-
damn that's a good looking dog! The kind of Lab I wish they had in the show ring too! Stunning!
-
I don't know if this happens to anyone else but if Lincoln sees a camera pointing at him he pulls the goofiest faces! Here is an example from this afternoon: Poor dear is being soooooooo sooky because he is losing his canines and quite a few molars.
-
Well done ST and Charlie! The gundog ring only had 15 dogs in it! Hopefully nothing will go wrong and I will make it to the Kalamunda show!
-
Congratulations!!!

I wish the Labrador Retriever nationals would hold obedience and agility, too. It seems all they do is conformation and some retrieving test. Or even if the club would hold normal obedience and agility trials! Other breed clubs tend to, I just never understood why some breed clubs don't. I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation for why, I just don't know it I will watch your videos tonight, can't wait!! I wish Australia had a Chessie club. RS the thing I noticed most in your obidience runs is how happy Ruby looked! :D

Sorry just to clarify, I think Labs should be fit and lean and well muscled like field trial dogs and most Cheapeakes are. I don't think you should be able to feel 'blubber', any bulk on a lab (and almost any breed actually) should be muscle, not fat.
-
I think a Lab in condition to participate in a field trial should be the ideal weight as this is the closest to 'original purpose' most retrievers in Australia get. However I am probably biased coming from a breed where all dogs are dual purpose so that is the shown and accepted condition, with many dogs competing alternately.

OMG will I ever get to a show again! First my appendix, then the family changes Easter to breakfast and today I get a flat tyre 10 mins drive from K9 and my dad had to drive all the way out from home because I don't know how to change a tyre! (Of course by the time it was change dand I was good to go it was 9.30 and I would have already been called absent).
-
Well done RS!!! You deserve that so much after your bad luck at the last two! Those rosettes are lovely!
-
Angelsun is Rally on the left and right or just the left like traditional obidience? Also if you do this are you learning 'traditional' obidience or do you have to re teach a lot of the skills?

Nope missed the closing date unfortunately. Spent yesterday rounding up stuff for making my jumps. My next trial is the state trial then southern river the next weekend (both am and pm trials) then the GSDA trial the next day, then NATIONALS!!! ;) Just posted my entries for Southern River - looking forward to meeting you guys - but nobody laugh if I lose the plot and the BC goes feral. Southern River will be Toby's second trial so Toby will be more likely to go feral. :D
-
He is going soon but I will get him to give Lincoln some treats next time. I got him to play with Toby and his iSqueak and Toby has calmed down a bit around him.
-
Happy Easter everyone! Was Amypie at agility on Saturday? I missed entries for states and because of work and some other things my agility trials are April 24th than nationals!
-
Sounds great angelsun. It's going to be a full on weekend, I can already tell. It's great that you are doing so much to promote the sport!
-
Its every time he is here though, not just this weekend. So it's probably just that he is scary , nothing to do with his pacemaker.
-
I am entered today but the family decided to change easter lunch to easter breakfast so I won't be there. But I will be showing Monday!
