  1. Have a friend with Newfy bubs willing to see if her bitch will take them. Have given her Julie's number.
  2. Introducing our young hopeful.... This is Mason at 3.5 months old He is coming from France, due to arrive in Australia in June 2011 We are very excited!!
  3. The Delicatessen also welcomes dogs at the outside coffee table area.....overall a very dog friendly town. We have even walked our Mini horse up and sat at the Deli for coffee...... The school oval (near the primary school) is fully fenced and a great large area for the dogs to run. We take ours to the lake sometimes (onlead) for a swim, we also have dog club fun days at the lake.
  4. Yep, I am in Emerald. Love it here. We have been here for over 10 years now, never had issues with the dogs. Got an excess dog permit very easily.
  5. We have used "Bauers Stomach Calm" with great success for colic bubs. It is available from Chemist, it is for human babies but safe for use with puppies.
  6. Thank you for the replies. I finally found a site in the USA that will ship to Australia. I need the crate for international travel so wanted to be sure I had the right bolts. Cost a small fortune, but still cheaper than buying a new crate....lol
  7. I have no idea where to put this thread, but thought breeders may be best as these crates are used for export etc.... Anyway, I am needing a set of bolts for the Vari Kennel Giant Sky Kennel ASAP but can't find anywhere online to buy them (found a USA site but they won't ship overseas) Does anyone now where they can be purchased in Australia, or overseas (if they will ship to Australia?) Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is the wrong spot to put the thread....

  10. I would also think that they are liver pups.....I often stumble across ads for rare dark red "English Staffy" pups only to see that they are liver in the pics and the "breeder" either has no idea, or is trying to bluff new buyers into thinking the colour they have is acceptable. One "kennel" I came across based all their breeding on their "stunning red bitch"......she was liver, no ifs or buts....
  11. I got some liver last night to feed the dogs this morning, I just cut the piece in half and gave it to them like that....they had a good chew on that but seemed to like it. They also had chicken mince, chicken necks, Omega Blend, an egg and tin of sardines, Vitamin C and Missing Link. Morning snack was a marrow bone, Lukas is loving his, Spice won't touch it. They are both a bit itchy, is that normal when changing the food or have I hit a snag and their new diet doesn't agree with them? Trying to get some red meat mince to mix with their chicken. I am trying to find a source for Turkey to give them a change now and then. Oh, our supermarket had lamb necks but they were cut into small portion sizes, about an inch long, I worry that the dogs would swallow the whole piece with their size, is it normal for them to be cut like that, or should I see if they can save me some without cutting them?
  12. WOW guys, thanks so much! You have given me a great start in feeding my dogs naturally. Went and got liver/hearts/brains this afternoon, and their afternoon snack was raw Ox heart. Next question.....is it OK to get all the ingredients I am using and mix it uptogether, freeze and then defrost as I need it? Or should I keep the different ingredients seperate and mix as I do their meal each day? I have a problam with getting Lukas to eat raw Beef, so if I get the beef mince, can I mix it with the chicken mince or is that not OK? Am off to supermarket now to get some meaty bones, thanks again!
  13. Thanks so much everyone for the advice! OK, so what about the pre=packed Barf? There is a supplier near me and I wondered about giving this? Would I still need to add anything?
  14. Thanks guys! Do you give the offal raw or cooked? I can get good priced Oz Heart and Liver and Sheep Brains near me. Will get some Omega Blend too, thank you!
  15. Did a quick search for this, so apologies if it is repeated. I have begun to feed my dogs a more natural diet, no more kibble. One of my dogs was not doing well on dry. Fed early in the day, every day, I would find that Lukas would wake me at 1-3am every night to go outside to eat grass and throw up bile. Something he was eating was not right for him. So we switched to natural and he is doing great! Being just a beginner with the natural feeding, I'd love to have some of your diet sheets..... I worry that I am missing something out, or feeding something I shouldn't. Current diet for my dogs - two Newfoundlands, female 10 years, 60 kilos, male 8 years 68 kilos (fed twice a day) Cooked Pasta with Carrot and Silverbeet Raw Minced Chicken Frames from Leonarnds. 6-7 Chicken Necks Jalna Natural Yoghurt Twice a week they get a raw egg and Sardines in water. Is there anything else they should be getting, or something I should eliminate? Thanks for any ideas you can give.
  16. Congrats to those that have done well over the weekend! Does anyone have any Group 6 results? Thanks in advance!
  17. If you go to the AQIS web site, you can find a running sheet of what needs to be, in what order...etc.. We imported a bitch from Netherlands and yes, we had to arrange the import permit from AQIS and the space in quarantine. We didn't have an esact date for her arrival, so we booked an approximate date, telling the staff it was not for sure yet, and when we had confirmed date, we rang them back and booked the proper date.

  19. Sorry to hear that you lost the Brown boy, very sad. Can you get some Metomide from the vet? That is supposed to be good to help Millk Supply. We hand rasied our first liter of 12, so know what you will be feeling in a couple of weeks!! We weaned them as early as possibly to take the stress off us. Are you in Australia?
  20. Congrats to all who have bubs born in JUne. How exciting for you all. Very sorry to those that have had a rough time. Congrats Newfiesrus, some browns too, gotta love a brown Newf. Are you living in Australia yet or still in the UK? They are very big babies!! No wonder she had some trouble finishing the job...lol Our biggest has been 1.25 kilo's at birth, with the other 5 pups all either just over, or just under a kilo. Average size we usually have is between 500 - 800 grams. Don't forget some pics!!
  21. Big massive Congrats to Miss Piper (CH Ultrablu Paleface Girl) on RUBISS to add to her previous BISS!! Love this Amstaff to bits, Congrats to Nancy and Russell and Piper's breeder Kim. Congrats to all winners/placegetters and competitors.
  22. Super HUGE congrats Ziva and Elsa, what a win!! So thrilled for you. Rapt that I got to see her win!!
  23. Good luck to all expecting June litters!! Looking forward to coming back to see arrivals pics. Newfiesrus - Are you in Oz Yet? Hope so!! We have had a false negative scan at 3 weeks, scanned again at 4 weeks and was pregnant, so definitely worthwhile a second cehck!
  24. Years ago we had a Stafford bitch returned because she was impossible to toilet train.......she was 8 and a half weeks old, they had her for only 4 days!! They actually returned her to be toilet trained, but dear me, she just never got the idea so we didn't send her back....lol This girl is now almost 11 and has never, not even once pee'd inside, not since the day they returned her.....lol poor girl was terrified of newspaper, especially rolled up newspaper.....wonder why??? She became a show Champion and was our biggest winning female to date. Her son is our biggest winning male to date...lol
