  1. Looks like we all got the same then. So should be alright.
  2. Hi has anyone received passes for this show. I've received my numbers, and on the back of the envelope it has GATE PASS written in black Texta. Is that all we need to get in on Saturday.
  3. My daughter had two viszlas who were siblings. The male died of cancer late last year and his sister fretted terribly. She came home one day to find a neighbour had left a note in her letterbox complaining about the noise from her girl. She then had to leave her in the house when she went out. She recently got a new puppy and her girl is happy again. She just didnt like being by herself. She is 12.
  4. I have groups 1 and 3 and its a pain having to run from one to the other at Bulla.
  5. I'm wondering as well if group 1 will be inside or outside.
  6. Thanks Murve. Pele has had 3 months off due to me having a litter of GSP's that have taken up all my time. He was so happy in the ring today. I am just so lucky to have this gorgeous boy.
  7. Pauline Scott's Gr Ch Basilika O Rei Pele :) He also won Open in Show! big congrates to Pauline & her darling boy
  8. Thanks for your replies guys. Will have to decide whether to camp or stay in the accomodation.
  9. Its good to know you can park your car and trailer close. That was one thing that was worrying me. How does it work with everyone sharing the facilities. I think they said there was a lounge, kitchenette, shower etc shared between 5 rooms. Is that correct.
  10. I wasnt able to go to the Noorat shows last year as my son got married that weekend. I'm just wondering what the facilities are like. Is it best to camp, or stay in the student accommodation.
  11. I use Ring5 Fly repellant, bought it from the dog shop at KCC Park. Find it works very well. It says it lasts up to 5 hours. I think it is an American product.
  12. I'm the show secretary for the german shorthaired pointer club of victoria, and the last two years, neuters have been allowed to compete in the veterans class (non competing), and also the class for dogs that have a qualifying certificate in say obedience, retrieving, agility etc. I'm sure I rang the VCA about this and they said it was a domestic decision, ie up to the club.
  13. Many years ago I had a lab x and I can remember one day she was on my bed and I told her to get off and she wouldnt so I pushed her off and she growled and snapped at me. She then went and got on the kids bed and once again she growled at me. I stood my ground and pushed her off and put her outside, and she never tried it again. I just always had to be the boss with her. She was a great dog though and loved her family. I have a german shorthaired pointer who is now 11. I trained her when she was young using the method of ignore the bad stuff and reward the good stuff. She turned out quite wild. I had to bring her back into line. Even though she was trained that way, she has never ever tried to bite me or anyone else. Its just not in her nature. You just have to be consistant in your training, and never let your dog think you are afraid of him/her.
  14. My very first dog that I got just after I was married was a collie rough. I bought him from a breeder who had had a baby around the time the puppies were born. The puppies were on a farm and had had very little socialisation. When I went to pick my puppy up, he took off over the paddocks to get away and I had to chase him to catch him. He turned out to be the best dog, he grew up with my children and was just wonderful.
  15. This is from the NSW website apparently so what does the second last line mean ie a semi-group show. New Title - Supreme Champion The Supreme Champion title is in effect as from 1 July 2012. The following procedure is required by the office in order to verify the award; Member completes the Supreme Champion application for a dog that has already been awarded a Grand Champion title The member must provide the following details on the application: the 3 All Breeds Best in Shows; or 10 Best in Group/Specialty Best in Show and the details of those 3 different Best in Show Judges or 10 different Best in Group/Specialty judges that made the awards a Challenge Certificate awarded to the dog in question after 1 July 2012 The above awards will then need to be verified by the office from our Show Results. However if the member has been presented with an “Award Card” clearly indicating any of the above BIS or BIG wins, they could either submit a copy or present the cards at the office, which will effectively reduce the time required for the staff to verify the details. Please note that a Best In Show at a Semi-Group Show does not qualify as a BIG for the title of Supreme Champion. IMPORTANT: The Challenge Certificate mentioned above MUST have been awarded at a show held AFTER 1 July 2012.
  16. I'm a little confused about what is needed to become a Supreme Champion. Now I know you need 1000 points, 3 Best In Shows under different judges, and 10 best in groups. But does a best in show at a Specialty (one breed) count. I've been told it counts for a best in group. Is that correct. Some people say no some say yes. What about a best in show say at a gundog show or a working dog show. Its very confusing. Look forward to your replies.

  18. If the show is indoors or on the german shepherd ground, the secretaries office is indoors at the Melbourne end of the pavillion. Ask at the secretaries offfice where your ring is.
  19. Has anyone received their numbers for Benalla. Both my friend and I havent had our cheques presented yet and no numbers received.
  20. You will need a really fine lead for your Papillon. Be careful looking at photos, you need to know the thickness. Thick leads do not look good on toy dogs. I show a Pap and had lots of trouble finding a nice lead. Ended up buying overseas, and more recently from someone in Melbourne.
  21. I sent mine in a little late. Havent had them returned, so assume I am in. In the dogs vic gazette, there was some schedules, then a page of codes, so I nearly missed the schedule. It was a little confusing.
  22. Looks like you had a lovely time. Your daughter looks so proud. Well done.
