  1. After thinking, looking ra ra ra what shall I do re a Loo,mine prefer to chewthe grass as well,I now have 3 grass mats at the doors on to the pergola, not my intentions! I went & brought huge container to use the lid,3 fake grass pieces cut to size plus a large bag of Kitty Litter. ..I will just have to hose Pergola off when it is wet & stick to newspaper in the house, they don't mind piddling on their carpet mats under pergola, which I just have to replace after wet weather, not worth cleaning probably cost more to clean or use "Urine Off"at $10.00 a mat.
  2. Never heard of this one. There is another thread started by "lilysmum" on page 2...Indoor dog toilets,I'm looking in to all of these loos& I haven't decided what to do,make my own maybe, because the ones I've looked at are just not big enough IMHO,only about cat litter size, the artificial grass is not cheap either, what would be better the short grass at $49.00metre,is the plush long grass too long, dunno,it is $79.00 metre, the thing is must be about 3-4 metres wide but one would probably need a metre to get the width other wise end up with several pieces to gain the width,I'm at the cross-roads,if only they made them larger as I have several littlies..Chis.
  3. Urine Off would break down the smell but it is costly . for every day use.I'm sick of running low on newspaper & had thought of getting this grass, question is ....do they adjust readily to the grass from newspaper, does it come in different sizes? What is Fabreeze?
  4. What is this "BLANKS" Blankety Blanks
  5. We are all waiting....what happened, did ya take the day off?.....Mondays are the best days off.
  6. Go home if you haven't already done so before it is too late.Tonight get the neighbours phone number & carry it with you! Only Police etc have the ability to do what you have asked.
  7. Hi Mum, Have a look at Vet bed(google) they have comfy beds that say can't be eaten,er chewed!
  8. yep Canines are designed to crunch/gnaw meat and bone. perhaps you would enjoy popping into THIS thread - lots of info and help for folks feeding raw. This will be the best discision you could make for your dogs.I changed over 2 months ago, they don't eat as much & seem to be more satisfied.I'm assuming the link Perse has here will guide you re BARF. I do chicken frames, necks, meaty bones, offal , rump , processed barf.Kangaroo & minced chicken & beef.Rump because it is cheaper than chuck or blade.......isn't that ridiculous! So there is quite a variety for each day,I keep canned incase of emergency only.
  9. Putting ideas in my head....of course this will stuff my saucepans! As temporary as their dogs barking
  10. Mashed (heated in micro) pumpkin,I am using every day & for newbys reading this thinking........no way would my dog eat pumpkin! I thought this also & I am so pleased & surprised that not only Bindie who is on a diet but the others lap it up.I have been giving them say...1/2 cup of pumpkin with 2 tablespoons of sardines,or quality canned dog food for breakfast.Did you know that Pumpkin is a fruit! One cup is 30 calories,I gram fat & 7.5 carbs. Good luck with your Malty
  11. What is Op matey? Yeah can't be in the Piggy Pen all her life, since all raw she does not gulp & gutz it all down, actually chews for 3 hours on a single bone.....I'm amazed ......at the difference in the barf.....10/10 for me
  12. Dunno wtzs going on,long way to go but I remain positive
  13. Yeah Perse Baby girl baby steps.......big girl could mean 3kilos Not much but it means a great deal & has lifted my spirits.I'm no dietition to explain how metobolism, fat burning etc works I know there were several replys that were thinking, must be cheating,u know not serious ra ra,I have no reason to lie, could have, to stop the back- wash.....no point, always the truth.
  14. To me, that is the best solution of all. My boys, as I mentioned before, are always inside, in their crate, when OH & I are both out. They just go off to sleep and are not at all distressed. That way I know they are both safe, no-one can get to them and Dylan, the escape artist, can't find a way to get out. I used to live in a suburb of Melbourne that had quite a high proportion of boarding kennels. I didn't find the barking much of a problem - it was usually when someone arrived to pick up/drop off a dog - but one dog contstantly barking/howling all day would drive me crazy (but no way would I resort to poison - not for the dog, anyway )
  15. My error ...always was 4.5 kilo not 4. I am sending her down to Yarra Valley boot camp I weighed Bindie today at vets and she was 3.9 on main scales, then 3.4 on another part of scales ,I was only out there 6 days ago,so said some-thing is not right with the scales,so they put her on the cat scales & she weighed 4.100.So I'm thinking this is really important for me to know her exact weight re having to lose weight.Called in at local vet where I also weighed her 2 months ago, then at 4.5 & today 4.2....so goodo nothing to bragg about but she has lost 300 grams, sounds very little but at least it is a loss. Nothing any different this last week with her diet,so just perhaps now there is a small loss it will continue. Perhaps it has taken her body longer to burn the stored fats. Only thing any different was, I)one 10-15 minutes swimming in hydrobath 2)2 mock swimming sessions in the bath
  16. If any good excellent price. Thanks for the post,I shall inquire whether up here as well...and if and when??
  17. Thanks, very interesting the Gelatin.I don't blame u not reading all these pages, like u I should be doing other things! 19. Brennan's mum- what is the story behind these photos? It would be useful to know exactly what is behind them.Do you have any more info? To me it looks as if this poor dog was 'fitted' with a electronic remote controlled 'training' collar -(photo description said 'SHOCK collar'-) and the owner either had it turned up FULL and used a long 'correction' , or , if it was an anti bark collar-the unit malfunctioned. The marks aren't on the voicebox area of the dog - where I would expect them to be for an effectively used anti bark collar ... perhaps something went horribly wrong all round? OMG that "facebook"link would turn every-one off collars for-ever,looks like it has been on this poor dog for weeks, day& night. It must have been so ruddy tight.Should have been around the owners neck. Like everything the purpose it was meant for has been abused. On that long the battery would have been flat any-how. Perhaps a "behavourist" as suggested & also they would show u how to teach your dogs never to eat food unless u say so.....how long this would take, some behavourist trainer on here could tell you that and or give the link. I think it was Steve that put a link re training your dog about food & feeding it only when u gave the nod......who-ever it was excellent.I have learnt sooo much since joining Forum. Thanks to all, remembering it all is of course another matter!
  20. Ever lived near a dog that barked all day and every day? Even I sometimes feel like going down and wringing the owner's neck. I've lived near a dog who barked all night... so yes, I can understand. But there is a difference between constant barking and the occasional yap. From the OP's description, her dogs aren't constant barkers. Go with the collar. Hi Kirsty, Lots of good advice given.Nothing more stressful than constant barking for hours be it day or night,it is absoltely hell on every-ones nerves.Very stressful also if Council are notified & are on your back, always best not to come to their attention. Some councils after several notices & the barking continues you have the choice of having to move house or remove the dogs......rather drastic. My daughter had a "barker" she invested in the battery collar, dog soon learned not to bark as she was zapped, eventually just tricked her as in leaving the collar on but no battery in it. A "barker" will set the whole neighbourhood of dogs off, they all join in. If it meant parting with my dog because it was a barker I would use the collar or look into de-barking. An enclosure as suggested may also be a solution, either way you will have to toughen up.Also costs money doing any of the suggestions being a responsible dog owner. Test what is right for a solution re your situation There are such people that come out access the situation re stopping the barking believe they are called "Bark Busters" how successful they are I have no idea or what they charge, others on here would most likely have first hand experience to report. Best of luck & keep us in the loop. There were other Posts last week about this very problem, one I think was under "What's in the News"forum, may be some tips for u in there to read.
  21. Hell,wasn't it $9,000@kilo and taste nothing! Earthy....like mushrooms?
