  1. Yes,i watched this, isn't it just amazing,if trained what can't dogs do! Snuffles worth his weight in "Truffles" I wonder what they taste like, ever tasted it?
  2. Hills diet R/D t'morrow, hopefully she will like it,maybe plain ol'bones one night and Kangaroo or raw rump another,to break the boredom of dry 7 days a week.Rather surprised that she will take the mashed pumpkin from my fingers but not plate, hungry enough I suppose one will eat "anything"lot worse stuff than pumpkin.
  3. I have wondered how different the human stuff is? Well good news I just tried the goats milk, literally it's quite yummy!! And Cooper thought so too It was touch and go he took a slurp and then walked away but I coaxed him back and he drank it all it was only about 1/4 of a cup full, and he was licking the bottom of the bowl for more so I think we may have found a winner. He is really weird at times he will look at something but not have a bar of it but if I put a bit of it in his mouth and he gets a taste of it, then he will eat it I did try that with the fish for dogs but no way and I ended up with a big sticky stinky fishy . The human form,I'm don't think it has Chondroiten nor,or the MSM.I have spent days....weeks... researching what is best ,also re Granules or tablet form,& best prices.I am told by vet Granules are absorbed better through the body to joints & ligaments.....really don't know who to believe.Bindie has H.D. so is also on the Omego Fish Oil plus Zeel tabs. I had the same problem.......how best to give it,I have tried empty capsules, too many took 6 to get the 5 grams daily, then I put the joint granules in Liverwurst that works every time,I can't continue this because she has to lose weight,so now I put it in Sardines that are in Spring water.I would use the oil variety but for the weight issue as it would be good re fish oil. When the Granules are finished I have Joint Health tablets,Aristopet 60 tablets $23.65,these people were most helpful,I spoke to Candice 07.3630.2166,also very prompt with delivery....next day. Like I've mentioned in previous posts, why can't all the aboves be in ONE tablet.I suspect all to do with the dollar. After reading all reports I could possibly find with opinions from all avenues on the aboves, I have not found conclusive proof that any of this actually works, all opinions say......it may help. I don't want to be a sceptic,I am willing & waiting to be converted.I'm sure I am not alone on this.
  4. how about Breeders write reviews on puppy buyers and puppy enquiries? Reviews......a book in all of us
  5. Different all together to bark when visitors arrive ,they settle down when visitors are seated, that is what dogs are suppose to do,it's when it goes on & on and just never stops daily, nightly.I think of worse things than muzzles lol Owners would have to notice, ignoring and hope it goes away.
  6. My error ...always was 4.5 kilo not 4. I am sending her down to Yarra Valley boot camp :p
  7. See the 2 puppies colour coded with nail varnish,I couldn't tell the difference when weighing ,photos & videoing! Yes,Summer does have no weight problems,it was just to point out the difference re much smaller framed dog than Bindie. Bindie very rarely eats dry food, none now but when 3 vets had none of the Hills in stock I went to WW and spent an hour in the dog isle, looking & reading & came across only one Diet, in Purina called Super Coat Lite & Mature,17% protein& 7% fat,I haven't opened it "yet" as I would rather cut her portions back & keep on the raw which she enjoys. Only treats she gets are twice weekly 1 small portion bone of Kangaroo tail, occasionly a piece of raw hide to give her some-thing to do....keeps her occupied. The life jacket was no use in the bath, when I hold the handle and get her to paddle with my holding her up it seems to drag around her neck with her weight& makes her use her front legs but not her rear legs, worked better me holding her across the middle for the rear legs to work, mmm after 10 minutes session it was enough for my back,so will do 2 10 minutes.Perhaps she is not as abled to kick with rear in any-case.....at least it is exercise.
  8. Yes,I have spoken to my neighbours like you have about your own.Ferrels, well ....what can i say,we all have them some where in our street lol.I have more tham my share here. We all need our sleep,I wouldn't cop the all day barking as you do either, strange thing is these kind of neighbours with "Barking Mad Dogs" think "we"have nothing better to do than whinge about their dogs! The 2 I'm complaining about often start at 5am,9pm,midnight,after 2 hours it really gets to me,many a time I've gotten out of bed put my dressing gown on to go BANG on their door.I have their phone no & have considered calling them, talking does not get through to them. The night stuff seems to have mostly stopped since I have gotten up and yelled out at them on more than one occasion,I know it is said yelling at them is not the answer but it gets owner out of bed to put them away.Running out of options here ,really am.I don't wish to be deaf but living here and listening to them day in day out it may be a blessing.
  9. Like yourself some neighbours are approachable, some are just ignorant.I've taken bones, printed off internet re barking dogs, offered a collar,I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall.I have thought of moving but like you were in no position to move......it is so frustrating & very stressful. My boy probably twice a day gets so sick of it he paces the fence(colorbond) and barks out of frustration just listening to them,it has set the other neighbours dogs off too, what if I wasn't home......would mine join in,probably.....so every one is in the sh* because these 2 are not controlled. If it were possible I'd like to be out where there were no neighbours! One can only get a vet to de-bark after 3 council notices, this area.I believe in extreme cases there is no other option,we all have the right to peace & quiet,I would not expect any-one to put up with mine barking,I wouldn't put up with it..not for one day, this is a form of mental abuse.
  10. Never heard of that one ASP.Well known vets are paid very well to endorse products,as are actors. Did you know: Colgate Palmolive own Hill's Science Diet Mars: Advance,Pedigree,Whiskas & more Proctor Gamble:Eukanuba,Iams.....what-ever this one is Nestle:Dog Chow,Friskies,Beneful,Purina One+ I realise u all needed to know this very interesting, informative imformation!
  11. Tonight a "Leading Vet"speaks out about foreign pet foods flooding our shelves.
  12. I was outside only listening so most likely never heard all that was said ,gone back to check but as usual can't find it!!
  13. I listened to it ...Today Tonight...,mainly about dogs barking when owners are at work or just out, until they received a council notice that it was occuring they said they had no idea their dogs were being a nuisance,so every-one hears it, not every-one will tolerate it nor speak to the neighbours firstly.I've 2 neighbours that are very often home & it still goes on,it absolutely grates on my nerves when it goes on for over 3 hours & longer.I some-times yell out"be quiet"& then neighbour comes out & speaks to them,I'm afraid of retalliation of false complaint against mine should I officially complain to council about neighbours. It use to be such a quiet place to live ....How can they bear it. Edited grammar
  14. Well how did u do that magical trick? A particular program, can u share ? Could you take off 20 years on my photos
  15. Thanks for the advice & support, this is Summar much lighter framed dog.Must be an easier way og doinf photos,I cut & pasted from photo bucket, forgotten how I use to do it!!!
  16. Yeah,I had a Yorkie & she was so much like the last one in the end called her Gidgit as well (too) & very often forgot she was not Gidgit 1,so similar in nature & looks....like a clone
  17. Wat do they say ......you look like u'r pet & husband & wife do look alike
  18. One piece in am after taking her medicine ,rest of an evening
  19. I'm still here...... been under the radar.I was to do gentle walking with Bindie few weeks ago,not because of walking but her patella started clicking so I stopped the walks, was told too strenious for the water for her,any how against Drs orders i did the swimming for 15 minutes today,I have taken a lend of a vest which has a handle on the back which I should be able to hold when I put her in the bath everyday & she can paddle. In the bath with-out this is useless just fights to get out.Have to go on-line see if I can find a swimming jacket.Now.....she still has not lost any weight, still 4.5 kilo, having said this when I arrived at the Hydratherapy they were saying how much trimmer she looked.I have her only on 60 grams raw food,or a bone for any given meal, looks like it must still have to be less.No dry at all.Only yesterday I brought dry Diet to give her as a change, the diet has less protein, just wondering could she not only be getting too much in volume but protein,is it possible to have too much protein re weight issues, what is too much protein?? I have read too much can give kidney disease that's about all I know. This is dissappointing, but looking forward to having the bath routine daily to have some weight loss & toning.I would be happy for her to lose even one kilo,I know she is over but she is also not a tiny framed dog like the other I have,Summar, she weights 2.5kilo,post photo of Summar for you to see what I really mean,& no I am not trying to make excuses for Bindie. With the Glucosomine/Chondroiten MSA & Omego fish oil & Zeel has any-one been using this for a long time on their dog for HD or other & has there been proof that this works? Perhaps x-rays before hand and then 6 months later noting the changes? Edited to add Summar but forget how or won't let me add image, buggar do t'morrow.
  20. Steve, that study isn't saying that the genes were wiped out though, just that the genes were not as actively transcribed anymore after the change in diet. Those genes are still there, still able to be passed on to the offspring. The study just shows that those genes are just only expressed under certain environmental conditions, not that certain environmental conditions erase those genes. As for HD/OCD etc, I think for a puppy purchaser, the advice of limiting exercise & watching nutrition carefully is a very sensible one, since you want your pup to grow up as sound as possible. But for a breeder, I'm not so sure. I'm not saying run or jump puppies until they break, since even the healthiest puppy joints and growth plates have a breaking point. But if you want to breed dogs with the strongest joints you can, then severely curtailing exercise when a pup is young will only mask any predisposition towards developing joint disease. The grown dog will look like it has great joints, it will x-ray well, but how do you know whether it really does have great joints and would have had them regardless of its upbringing, or if they were actually weak joints that have only matured well since you overprotected the pup when it was young? How do you breed for great joints, if you don't test whether a pup has them? Just something I think about quite a lot at the moment. Where is Steve??? I don't know how to Bump? How do i do it?
