  1. What a lovely surprise for you . I hope you get a chance to meet the mystery person. Sounds like s/he would love the chance to get to interact with you and your dog
  2. Great ad. I agree, the facilities in that shelter are certainly much nicer then the one I have seen at the AWL here...
  3. I arrive in Brisbane on the 21st of October so will miss this one, but will definitely be looking to attend another one ;)
  4. Aww poor girl ;) She looks like she will make some one deserving a wonderful pet. I hope she gets a home soon. As for the scum who dumped her......he can just rot
  5. Brennan has 3 tattoos, she has the one she got with the breeder's with her breeder id, one for being Micro chipped and one for being Desexed. Never really bothered me that she is tattooed...and with some of the points being made here I am actually glad she is. She has got the ears which stand up, but I hardly notice the tattoo's anyway.
  6. I had this sent to me a few years back saying it had appeared in a US newspaper ...very cute
  7. Lottie She is so pretty, and cute..Hope she has had a great day :D
  8. Karen Overall's Protocol for Relaxation is handy to do at home too I have a copy printed out. I have Control Unleashed and it is a good book. Have you got ''Click To Calm '' by Emma Parsons? I have not got that yet but it is on my wish-list. You can do this I think things will be much easier once you have seen a behaviourist then you can start working on the techniques and advice they give you.
  9. I (virtually) know the OP from Facebook..and I know the people she has sought advice from via Facebook. Yet I do not know her irl. I think that like what many sensible people have said about seeking professional help is the best course of action. Having some one who is skilled enough come and see the OP and her dog in person rather then suggesting techniques which could be dangerous over the internet.
  10. Baxter is gorgeous <3 him...make sure to come join us GSD people on the German Shepherd owners thread in the breed discussions :D
  11. OMGosh I am bawling my eyes out reading this I am so so sorry for your loss There are not enough words to describe how special our dogs are and how tragic of an accident this is. My deepest condolences
  12. I am the manager of a large fast food place, and we provide a toy with our Kids meal. It is a fierce competition with other fast food places to have the best toys and I figure that dogs make the best toys, hence I would like to order the following dogs; A Great Dane..but is it possible for it to be a small as in Tea cup size? A Labrador cross Collie cross Dalmation for the kids who can not decide between Marley and Me/ 101 Dalmations and Lassie as their favourite movie dog Also I would like to combine all the breeds I like so that instead of having several other dogs I could just have one which is all of those breeds. The dogs you need to combine are; Finnish Lapphund, Border Collie, Belgian Tervueren, Siberian Husky, Rottweiler, Maltese, These dogs must be suited to living in a backyard with little to no interaction. I expect them to come without behavioural problems and to not have to devote my time to training them or walking them. They must be happy to eat the cheapest and nastiest of supermarket foods. They need to be free of health problems and must be immune to fleas, worms, ticks etc because I can not be bothered wasting my valuable smokes and beer money on the dog's health . dog Oh and if you charge over $100 for a pup forget it...I can just get me neighbour Bazza to let his dog knock up my other neighbour Shazza's dog.
  13. I have no idea what it is but I will keep your dog in my prayers tonight ...Please let us know what the vet says, keep us updated
  14. I think the questions and concerns being raised here are valid. A few of the things you have said have led people to believe that you are interested in making money. Whether that is your intention or not it is how it has come across. Obviously when saying that you are a breeder it does help to spell the name of the breed correctly. We can only go by what you have written and we have no way of knowing if it is a result of the automatic spelling corrector or human error. If you are genuinely interested in bringing a rare breed into the country for breeding purposes then you could expect a lot tougher questions and opinions being expressed here. As for your statement saying that your friend in the USA has been relatively lucky in regards to health, are you informed on the possible health problems of the breed, the signs and symptoms and how best to try and minimalise the chances of the dog being affected by said disease?. Perhaps if you are unhappy with the opinions you are getting here you could try and contact the ANKC directly, or contact a few breeders via phone and email, ask them if they could give you some pointers on how to establish yourself as a reputable ANKC approved breeder.
  15. Great pictures Thanks so much for sharing, I have been hoping to see pictures. I loved the Aussie's, the Berner, Pug and that beautiful Rottie. The DDB is gorgeous too
  16. They may need to advertise it a bit more . I only knew of it because I look on the Dogs SA website. I think I saw a brochure a few months ago and that was it. It's a shame it was not as good as it could be, I know in North America they have a lot of things like ''Dog's Day Out'' or 'Woofstock'' which always looks like so much fun.
  17. Aww here I was feeling bad because I did not go..
  18. Micha I love Micha's treats they look great, and how cute was he with his soft boiled egg toy
  19. If you missed the show you can find it on You Tube. I was looking for the Jack Russell part to show a friend in the US. What did we do without you tube?
  20. Just finished watching it. I loved the bit where he was watching the wolves in the wild. And the bit with the Wolf man where he got to pat the wolf .
