  1. So...is there a reason why the ANKC wont register sables? (sorry if I missed it)
  2. I dont even want to think about my HECS, I had $2000 just this term, plus I had 6 units from another degree I started...my main problem is the upfront fees like text books, nursing equipment and uniforms, I need to buy another stethoscope which will be about $100, then there is time off work to do my nursing placements, I have a 3 week placement in November...I wont have enough annual leave for then so I dont know what Ill do :p
  3. No probs Dandy, it was optional :D doubt we will raise much being so close to the date and to Easter but oh well Im a student ;) And yeah Flick because you're a student it will be $10 for you too, love concession rates!! Ahhhh makes sense now I was so confused LOL Hope you can make it Flick:) Lol, you really freaked me out at first when I saw that you said I only paid $10...not that I care, but I was like "how did you know?!?" lol
  4. haha, do you have any idea just how much uni costs?...Ill gladly take advantage of concession when its on offer lmao!!!

  6. Same here, but I unfortunately have a tendacy towards the darker reds (like my Tollers) and sables *runs and hides* Yeah. have to say I like the dark reds too like my big boy. The pale ones just don't have that same look. Hopefully I won't be putting any more sables out there... Hopefully Myf is the one and only. At least it was an accidental surprise rather than a planned event. Whats wrong with sable? When red was added to our standard about 20 years ago the reds had formerly been called sables, so the term red was used to distinguish it from sable but they didn't bother to put sable in the standard as well. Now that the ANKC won't allow any colour not in the standard to be main registered in any breed, you cannot main register a dog as sable. Absolutely idiotic, but that is the current rule introduced by the ANKC without any consultation to anyone. Borders used to be registered as their true colour on main but only the ones listed in the standard were shown. Of course colour makes no difference to a working or performance dog so the colour didn't matter to breeding stock for those purposes or if the dog was good enough it was easy enough to breed a standard colour from a non-standard colour anyway. Now if you want to main register a puppy you are told to choose the closest colour so if the dog is required for breeding it gets registered as an incorrect colour. Every other country in the world allows sable as a colour except here. So is sable and red genetically the same? I just had a look at your website and saw a pic of Myf, she looks a bit like a sunburned b&w
  7. I want to link it to my fb wall, but not until its got a doggy photo up lol, here is a Lexi photo Or would you prefer this one?

  9. There's always Albany Creek too...for after hours emergency type stuff. They're supposed to be fantastic. They are, I took Lexi there when she was covered in hotspots simply to have an E-collar fitted, Id already taken her to another 'emergency vet' in the area and spent a fortune for nothing (they did nothing to treat her), anyway, when I took her to Albany Creek they clipped back and treated one spot she wouldnt let me look at, and gave me some more cream to bring home at no cost, all I paid for that night was the collar LM hope Lilly is ok
  10. Lol, thats happened to me a few times now
  11. On the top of the topic, when its open, click on options on the right hand side, click on standard
  12. Hmmm, actually that is exactly what I tell parents when their babies have to have blood tests, that the main reason they cry isnt because of the needle in their arm, but because they are being restrained....still though, that experience at the vet has scarred me
  13. I did work experience at a vet when I was in high school, there was some 3 day old pups in to be docked and have their dew claws removed...the vet used side cutters do do it please tell me this isnt a common practice...I had to hold those poor pups, after that there is no way anyone can convince me it doesnt hurt
  14. Can I ask, what is the 'humane' way of docking 3 day old pups? Not sarcastic, its a genuine question...
  15. Mhm, when the time comes for me Ill definitely be moseying over to the BC thread
  16. Ooh thanks for the tip there Erny, Tess has a raw patch either side of her nose, and Im trying to work out how to stop her licking the paw paw off
  17. You will get used to it...I was always a one dog person, but when I moved up here I took Tess away from everything she knew, and away from the dogs she knew, and I was worried about her so I thought it was time to look at getting a second
  18. Like GG said he posts quite regularly on his FB page LOL once you start getting into dog stuff you have to have a cheque book!! The dog world is still so old school I'm not sure when it will get banked but I imagine it would be pretty quickly, I can check for you ETA: The Metro facebook page; http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Metro...204845539532312 Lol, yeah I got sick of paying $5 for a money order, for an $8 agility entry lmao, soon ordered my cheque book, even if I did feel like a doosh actually going into the bank (really, who does that these days) and then asking for a cheque book (me, 25yo who constantly gets mistaken for an 18yo) and then having the girl serving me have no idea if my account can even get linked to a cheque book...thank god it could lmao
  19. Join his fb group all his updates are on there Huski thanks for that, I was wondering who to make a cheque out to (btw will it get banked straight away or not until closer to the time? just so I know to keep enough money in the account) ...man I still cant believe Ive got a cheque book...I feel so old school lol ETA, I couldnt find metro on fb...anyone got a link?
