lol, gorgeous pic emery Good luck with your Llamas, how exciting Alpacas are on my wish list for when I retire to my smallholding lol, that sent Louis running outside barking at the 'intruder' Good luck J - hope you have a great day today Well tomorrow we get the keys to our new rental and finally get all our belongings delivered After 3 months of living out of the 3 bags we brought over on the plane, it will be great to be surrounded by our own furniture again Luckily we have a few days when we have both houses, so we can leave the animals here and move them over to the new one once the removal men are done. I think the dogs will settle pretty quickly, we'll just need ear plugs for Indy as she'll howl for the first few days

Yes I had meant to say Daisy gets clipped regularly, so when she was getting the staining, that was the only way to get rid of it. What bones are you feeding?
-
lol, obviously a face only a mother could love ;)
-
With some dogs it is down to diet, and the addition of some good meaty bones can help them produce nice firm poos that help the glands empty naturally. Unfortunately some dogs like Daisy have to have them emptied every couple of months as they just don't empty them themselves, not matter how firm and bulky their poo is The vet said it's due to the size and position of the glands

Great pic Vally - they look a handsome pair A lady who we've chatted to a few times as she's passed our house (she has a couple of labs) stop by this afternoon with her new purchase - a 9wk old chocolate mini poodle - from a Mount Lawley pet shop that sells puppies It seemed very quiet and felt thin and pretty light for its size :D She said she knew it was wrong but she couldn't leave it there ;) She'd just gone in to get some food for her dogs! I hope it gets some good food in its belly and has a happy home with her at least.

Absolutely adorable How is the whole cat/dog thing going? -
What a really lovely thing for someone to have done It's a shame though when 'responsible' dog ownership is obviously not seen as the norm A great off-lead area near me has so much dog poo around it's unreal and there are so many bins and bags provided there is no excuse. When I go to get fresh bags you have to be careful not to tread in the poo next to the bins

Working/working Line Dogs As Pets
CrazyCresties replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
My cocker was a working type - I believe they are more prevalent in the UK. A cocker forum I joined after getting him was full of warnings against getting the working type as a pet unless you had lots of time to spend on exercise and training them. My boy was the most laid back dog from the start - he would go full pelt when out, but was happy lounging around when at home I personally prefer the look of the working type cocker too. -
OMG Kenobi is just gorgeous - congratulations VM

My Daisy is a partly reformed foot chewer - I think it's a habit formed in her early years of neglect, and also part allergy. She had terrible staining on her feet from licking and also bad tear staining. She is certainly worse when her anal glands need emptying. I'm also 90% sure that cutting beef from her diet has stopped the staining. The hair around her feet is now kept cut as short as possible and washed occasionally with Malaseb. A combination of all these things has helped greatly, but it's taken a couple of years to get to the bottom of it. I would certainly get your vet to check for any cause of the licking though, get the anal glands checked and maybe look at his diet. This is how stained they used to be....... and now......
