I feel for you dobesrock Having re-homed 2 of mine before moving over here, it is indeed a heartbreaking process BUT they went to great homes and it sounds like your little Odie would be too If for some awful reason you are not allowed more than 2 dogs in Darwin, then you will at least know one of them has already gone to a good home and is hopefully settled

The Crestie Weapon Of Choice
CrazyCresties replied to CrazyCresties's topic in General Dog Discussion
Heaven help you if you put a chilled hand on a crestie butt yeah she gave up in the end and let him have it anything for some peace and quiet Clearly, as apparently their very own special duvets each and brand new beds aren't sufficient lol - I did warn you GR not sure why it's not working for you, maybe you need to give it a bit of time to download -
The Butt I don't know if it's true about all cresties but Louis in particular has a thing about his butt....he will turn round to present it to you to have it rubbed or gently slapped However he also uses it to get Daisy out of the cosy cat bed Warning - high pitched squealing noises in video
-
Super photos - he is gorgeous love the second one
-
Some great photos coming still LOL at the 'flying pigs'
-
Great captures I love the one of the Afghan - did he clear it ?

I would say if the puppy has been raised on BARF than stick to it - it's a great diet Why do you feel the need to add a dry kibble, are you just unsure about getting it right with a BARF diet? If so there are lots of threads on here and lots of raw feeders to help you with any questions Congrats on the puppy - hope december comes quickly for you

How busy is it that time of day at the weekends? I've been avoiding Riverside at weekends as figured it would be pretty busy with dogs? -
See I'm keen to see a huntsman in the flesh as I've never seen a spider that large, I'm not too freaked out by spiders and Huntmen are harmless right Do they really jump? And I had snakes as a kid so they don't scare me, but I will be keeping a very healthy distance from any that I see out here :p We met the mastiff as we were getting back to the car at Riverside, she came bounding up to us along with another similar sized dog and Louis understandable wasn't happy to start with. The owner got her on a lead and then we were chatting for ages (the mastiff was a rescue who had been stabbed in both sides ) gorgeous dog and so sweet. Anyway Louis relaxed as we were chatting and was brave enough to sniff her butt a couple of times, and she was really laid back so it was a good experience for him :p Just of there again now, I'm sure that's where the mozzies are getting me, but it's worth it as the dogs enjoy it there
-
Seriously? I have to worry about scorpions as well Mirawee your foal is beautiful and GR how cute is your new boy Congratulations to Mason as well Louis sniffed a Mastiff's butt at the park yesterday
-
lol looks like you'll need to make another 3 of them Same here, got them all new beds once out of quarantine and all the dogs want to sleep in is the cat bed Looks like you did a great job with making the bed too

Big congrats Ptolomy, Bedazzledx2 and vallyCBR Fingers crossed for Sophie, hope she stays nice and calm for you while resting If you'd like some company I'd like to go to the Royal too - my OH would get bored after 10mins so I'm better going alone ewwwwww why do we love these foul creatures so much :p Wazzat sorry to read about Kim, hope she's feeling ok - does this mean you'll be strutting your stuff round the ring now ;)
-
As the mozzie buggers have been biting me non-stop since we arrived, then yes I think I'll treat them with the 45 day tablets. If they're savaging me now I dread to think what they will be like come summer And with Louis being hairless I guess he'll be an easy target as well
-
awww Tokkie those photo's are adorable Mine hate the water, and much to Louis's disgust I occasionally take him into the shower with me to wash him One unhappy boy
-
I hope Mason clear up quickly It doesn't seem to be bothering Daisy at all
-
All clear - not ringworm and not contagious I was dreading the whole washing everything etc associated with ringworm! It's an epidermal collarette http://www.ehow.com/list_6615501_treatment...ttes-dogs_.html for which she had a topical cream to be applied a couple of time a day

Not For Those Who Don't Like Spiders!

Awesome spidey pics I've yet to meet my first huntsman - even though I understand they are harmless I'm sure I still have a little shiver inside I want to see one though, do they start emerging around now? -
aww those are lovely tlc They do look like an old married couple
-
No I wouldn't do the yearly one....really don't like the thought of something in their system that can kill parasites for a whole year

Sounds lovely Mas Same here and I think Louis will be ok as he's been fine on dog meets in the UK....it's just when single dogs rush up to him when we're on our own he freaks a bit. And also it depends on Daisy's results at the vets http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=204643 -

What and where is 'Perry's Paddock' ? -
Cheers Kirty and TS - she's standing with some Malaseb shampoo on it at the moment just in case! ed to add TS
-
Just noticed this on Daisy's tummy She had some similar looking scabs on her tummy back in the UK (which we had tested and they were negative for ringworm) but this just looks like it to me I don't know where she would have picked it up from I'll take her off to the vets first thing in the morning, but I'm really hoping it's not :D What do you think?
-
Thanks for all your responses A bit of thinking and researching to do on this one it seems

The whole issue of heartworms is new to me and the dogs, having moved from somewhere where it doesn't really occur. I took Louis to the vet today for another issue and asked about heartworm and was told about the annual injections and tablets etc. As I raw feed, I also like to minimise the amount of chemicals I put into them.....is it something I need to be concerned about this time of year? The vet said yes they should be treated all year round, but then they'd also recommend feeding the food they stock So I guess I'm looking for some sensible advice with regards to heartworm and its treatment. Is Perth a high risk area? I don't like the idea of an annual 'preventative' injection - jees how much poison must that put into them I assume heartworms are treated differently to 'normal' worms that you just flush out every now and then? heeeeeeelp
