  1. Cheers GR found it Google call it AP Hinds Park? My OH has the car today but next time I get the car I'll take a drive down and explore. I have the luxury of not working at the moment so can go when it's quiet in the week
  2. She is just gorgeous How about Amelie - a french film.....
  3. Would love too Where is it exactly? I've found Forest and Hyde parks but looked on google maps and can't see Riverside Gardens
  4. Yeah that ad makes me chuckle too There is another one at the moment that makes me giggle but can't remember what it is just now..... Took the dogs round Lake Monger again yesterday and saw two teeny tiny baby long necked turtles - my first ever turtle sighting They are strange looking little things that looked so out of balance with that long neck I've just received a nine page questionnaire to fill out before the behaviourist comes to see Louis on wed......hope that's enough room for all his issues
  5. My old cocker certainly had a stubborn streak If I called him to come in out of the garden and he didn't want to, he would lay down and give me the 'defiant' look so I'd call him a couple of times and then start to close the door saying 'ok you can just stay out there then' and he'd be in in a flash
  6. Can we please stop revering to small dogs as 'rats' - it's obvious that the owners are the issue in these cases, so I don't think it's right to be derogatory about the dogs. And some dogs have to be 'upholstered' due to very thin coats (greys etc) or a total lack of hair like my boy - it's not always a fashion thing
  7. awww Happy Birthday Chester :D Great pics and I'm sure they all enjoyed the bones after the posing :p
  8. lol, the first pic captures the scene very well :D
  9. Congratulations, I hope it fulfils all your childhood dreams :D I always wanted a Saluki due to a book I read about a falconer and his peregrine falcon and Saluki I've never had one but still think they are the most beautiful dogs :p
  10. lol - I got a couple of pigs head and all the 'lights' for free from my groomer and it took me ages in a freezing garage chopping everything up and portioning it up for freezing in the middle of a Scottish winter - but it was free so I wasn't gonna say no to it :p I also got deer carcasses from someone I knew who did shooting - the postie got a shock one day when he knocked on the open door and popped his head round and I had a small carcass in the sink and a bloody cleaver in my hands with blood stained washing up gloves on I reassured him it was just a deer and he said 'hey I don't want to know what goes on in the privacy of your home Congratulations Kelari :D
  11. Have to agree with that statement - I know Louis has issue due to his poor start in life ( http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=202474 ) and as a result I always keep him on the leash and very close to me when other off leash dogs come close. But we went to the beach a couple of days ago (mid-week knowing it would be quiet) which it was so Daisy was off lead, but someone came onto the beach and let their dog come flying up straight into Louis face - surely if a dog is on lead it's on lead for a reason at places like this, and you should keep your dog away from it :D Sorry you got bitten, but it sounds to me that the ones to blame in this situation are the owners who obviously have not given this dog a good start to life :p
  12. Louis has a behaviourist coming on Wednesday - so lets hope this will be the start of a more relaxed boy out on walks :D
  13. Woo Hoo roll on Friday I'd be interested in trying goat.....who is A+D?
  14. oooooo, just in time for the deepest darkest winter period Poor Jet awwww those pics are sooooo sweet too We are trying to find a rental property with a pool, but it's a nightmare finding anywhere decent at the moment in Perth If we do I can't wait to see how the dogs do with a pool
  15. Sooooo cute - the second pic is just adorable
  16. Greyhound zoomies are a joy to see Did he actually swim?
  17. lol, that what I thought too Beautiful pics as usual
  18. My boy Fargo was He was my 'working type' cocker from working stock that I had to re-home before moving over here He is gorgeous (and very happy in his new home ) although I'm biased of course It's not a nice experience is it How long till Strauss is a free man now? The dogs tried Kangaroo for the first time tonight and promptly walked away from it However once lightly sautéed in olive oil they decided it was edible and scoffed the lot Louis has the behaviourist coming round on Wednesday morning for a couple of hours so hoping that all goes well and we can get him on the road to feeling happier around other dogs
  19. If no underlying medical reason, then maybe try Ziwipeak canned tripe? http://www.ziwipeak.com/nzl/cuisinefamily.shtml Tripe, Lamb and Venison – ‘Daily-Dog’ Cuisine Cans 385g/13.5oz INGREDIENTS: Lamb Tripe (min 30.5%); Venison Tripe (min 11.6%) Lamb and Venison Meat (min 15%); Green-lipped Mussel (min 4%); Carrageenan; Sodium Tripolyphosphate; Guar Gum; Flaxseed Oil; Minerals; Vitamins. Calories 322 KJ/100g. In the UK I found raw green tripe excellent for getting weight on my grey - I don't think you can really get raw tripe in Australia, so a canned version maybe worth a try.
  20. And the sunshine! They've had nothing but rain since we left apparently Will he have any quarantine to do, or will he get back in with a pet passport?
  21. LOL, he looks so pleased in the last pic
  22. Thanks ST, I'll have a look and see what I can get, I don't think she's allergic......in hindsight she was scratching her neck a bit, but not so much that she'd had an adverse reaction to them. GR - how adorable, hope you end up with the most perfect little well behaved boy
  23. Ah that's great news for Bosley, hope it all works out for her Hope Tiggy settles in well too - Pics?
  24. She's got her pj's on indoors as this house is cold :p The trouble is when the sun is out, even at this time of year, it's hotter than the Scottish summers! She gets hot on walks, and with being a bit unfit after 30 days with no exercise, she is better kept clipped and cool for walks. She's kept nice and snugly inside
  25. Have fun at the beach on Sunday - hope it stays dry for you I'll come along and join you once Louis has settled down a bit
