Woohoo! I'd love to hear what you think of each scent and which is best for getting rid of odours. Many scents will cover the odour up but I'd rather they get rid of the odour instead.

Good news. I am so happy for you.

I would think with the enclosure that it would be best to use an anzyme based cleaner and then use this after it??

The only thing you can do is re-inforce the good behaviour. Really go to town and make a big fuss when he urinates in the right place. Do this everytime you see him wee, regardless of how long it is between rain seasons. The neighbours will think you're cuckoo cuckoo when they hear you exclaiming "Good dog, clever boy, you know where to do wee wees" but your dog will love it. When it rains, pick up your mats off the ground if you can. If need be, buy a belly band and put that on him during long peiods of wet weather when he is inside. Drag out the lavendar oil and sprinkle this daily on any other areas he might be inclined to wee during the rainy weather.... your house will smell like Grandmas but it's better than the alternative. Oneof the problems with toilet training puppies to wee on paper is that they then use mats thinking they are doing the right thing. It is really confusing when they are suddenly berated for toileting in a piece of 'material' on the ground when they were taught this is the right thing when they were babes.

Anne, I remember the thread. And it was me who suggested it. Good stuff hey? How did you find the scent? I actually really liked it. I had talc. I ran out again months ago (that's how quickly I use it up - I have gone through 10L since you recmmended it to me!!) and I have noticed my house has developed a 'smell' so I desperately need some more. It is great stuff. I wash the dogs bedding with it and I use it on the floors, mixing in a spray bottle with water. I am putting the house on the market soon and I really need it again to ensure the place is odour free!

Thanks for this thread guys, I need to re-order some. 5L doesn't las long with me.... as I go a bit crazy with it. I use it for everything and, funnily enough, it was a DOLer who recommended it to me a year or more back too in a thread just like this one!

Woohoo! Congratulations Rozzie!

Drooling can indicate pain so you were right to watch him. I hope he is ok.

It was the funniest thread I think that has ever been created on DOL.
-
I have been visiting since 2004. :D Hey Greytmate, are you able to make it down this year??
-
I joined DOL on a far flung recommendation from Dougie...Uncle Arfur.... KipMckool and whatever he was known as over time. So, who is coming to the Awards even without a free ticket?

Do Dogs Metabolise Fat, More Efficiently

Interesting article. Thanks! -
I wash mine weekly and I wash their bedding weekly and sometimes more often if needed.

Congrats!

You won't recognise it Eridor! They have made the sand white and the water is so clean and is a beautiful blue. I went over there the other week to have aloko at a few things and I was gobsmacked at how gorgeous it looks these days. It was like being on some tropical coast somehwere. Here's hoping for beautiful weather on Saturday/Sunday of the Awards! You can even now sit at a cafe on the beach sipping a latte or having a bite to eat. Can't get any better than that!
-
Nah, that's too old. We made him wear a tin foil hat at the first Awards in Brissy a few years ago. Not sure about the bkini though.... the Novotel is opposite Brighton Beach so it might just be the way to go. Here's hoping for fab weather - bring your cossies guys, the beach is looking supreme these days. Somehow they have eeven made the sand completely white and it looks awesome!
-
I agree. 2 days max. I think you'd have to experiment with the freezing of it. Obviously it would need to be removed from the tin too as you have already considered.

Do Dogs Metabolise Fat, More Efficiently

It can in some dogs. My Malinois started to get lipid deposit on her eyeball right on top of her lens. She had to go on a low fat diet and it dissapeared, so now we keep her fat intake relative to the work she does. Fat and cholesterol are 2 different things. Cholesterol is essential in the digestion of fat you consume. I would assume the deposits on your dog's eye was nothing to do with cholesterol. -
Wow, amazing sotry. I hadn't noticed this thread before. It will be great to watch him grow and see what he turns out like.

Or maybe this front on shot.
