  1. The barium is taking longer than normal to go through, and it looks as though there is something in her stomach by the way the barium is flowing. She's on IV fluids, and is alert and bright and not trying to vomit (she has been at the vet since 2pm - last vomit would have been at about 11.30am). They will x-ray again in the morning and see what has happened with the barium overnight, but they expect to operate in the morning.
  2. Please spare a thought for my rising star, Nova, who is currently hospitalised at the vet with a suspected stomach obstruction. Currently undergoing a barium series and expected to have surgery in the morning Any positive vibes for Nova would be so very much appreciated.
  3. Both of these are totally normal levels of ongoing breeder support offered by ethical breeders, in my opinion. We absolutely do this, and it's made very clear in our sales agreement and in conversations with our puppy buyers before they take their puppy home that we are always there to offer any help or advise, or to answer any questions and that we will always take any of our puppies back (in fact, this is a stipulation in our sales agreement - that if the situation occurs where the buyer can no longer keep the dog, they let us know so that we can take the pup back, or at the very least let us know so that we can help them rehome)
  4. Wow good prices!! I paid almost $200 down here for a very much "quick and dirty" ultrasound, which could only confirm pregnancy and "oh, I think there's 3, not sure if there are more than that" (So I did the old double and add 1 - it worked perfectly - 7 we had!) Ultrasound with a specialist who could actually count puppies and give more than a yes/no answer was closer to $300 from memory. GOOD LUCK TRINA! All fingers crossed for you that she has lots of buns in that oven!
  5. I'll be a sook with you! Brought tears to my eyes too, combined with a smile on my dial! Love it!
  6. Are they ever! Also, don't get a Rottweiler if - You're not confident in establishing and maintaining leadership - You're not willing to socialise your dog - You're not willing to do at least a basic level of obedience training - You don't like your dog leaning on you, hitting you with his foot, and generally being very interactive
  7. That'd be right  Yes, I can totally picture the look on his face!
  8. Lovely bubs! I have to confess that I have an urge to steal Panda! Too much cuteness in one puppy  Love both the Weims, another soft spot breed for me. Back to show training tonight, got to get some training in for Nova - she starts competing against the big girls on Saturday!
  9. There is no right or wrong way to decide, it's up to the individual breeder. For us, if a pup is sold as a show/breeding potential pup then it is sold on main register, if a pup is sold as a pet then it is sold on limited register. As simple as that.
  10. You posted them and above the photos you said: You asked for people's opinions... that's hardly just putting the photos up to just to show what breed they are, and not asking for feedback, is it?
  11. Oh god, she's gorgeous..... and patient!!
  12. Congratulations guys! They are some awesome results!
  13. Molly - Bubby; bubby girl or bubba louie Neo - Doodie man or Bozo head Feonix - Fi Fi Radar - Gooby Nova - Smooshy or Smoohsy Face They all answer to their nicknames  I feel so much more normal now! Loving all of these nicknames
  14. Here's a recent one of our "little" rising star, Nova :D Nova followed up her Baby Puppy in Show win at the beginning of the month, with Baby Puppy in Group last weekend, I'm so proud of her! She is just a little star, doing everything beautifully in the ring, I just couldn't ask for her to do anything more! She turns 6 months in a couple of days, so she moves into Minor for her next show and gets to start playing with the big girls
  15. I just wanted to say thankyou to SwaY for posting that link! Very educational, and a must see.
  16. Oh, God - aren't they, though!
  17. Well done!! Well, Nova has just had her first show for 2012 (and her second show in total), and made us very, very proud with..... Baby Puppy in Show! What a great start to 2012 for my little love :D
  18. Nova's first Christmas, pictured here in the Santa hat with her brother Bruce, the crooked reindeer And the oops photo where everyone has their eyes closed!
  19. What a lovely, supportive thread Puppy_Sniffer, thank you! I've not been able to bring myself to post about her in the Rainbow Bridge thread yet, but maybe this will help me to do it properly. We lost my beloved heart dog, Enya in February - unexpectedly and in a way that I will always blame myself for. I don't think I will ever get over her loss, and still blubber when thinking about her. I've never been as bonded with a dog as I was with Poss, and the hole she has left in my heart is just enormous. Allerzeit Enya CCD - AKA Poss; Possum; and Possum Possum Enya 4/12/2002 - 2/2/2011 My hugs and thoughts to everyone else in this thread, there have been far too many heartbeaking losses this year
  20. Being in different states shouldn't prevent your breeder from being a valuable source of information, assistance and mentorship While were were still in Victoria I sold a show/breeding potential puppy to a lady in WA who was just starting out. We had (and continue to have) lots of discussions on breeding directions for her girl, I offered all advice I could, answered any questions I could and did all in my power to mentor her. I now count her as a lovely, good friend - she has bred 2 litters from her bitch, and we purchased a male from one of those litters. Unless there is some reason why communication isn't possible, please don't discount your breeder as being an important source of assistance in starting a breeding program, just because they are interstate
  21. I'll second the Vytrate suggestion. Excellent product and my dogs/pups will drink it very eagerly when it is offered. Yes, we've found this with Vytrate too - it seems to be very palatable. We always have sachets in the dog cupboard. Another thing we keep on hand for runny bums is slippery elm powder, which we give them at the first sign of an upset tummy (for the adult dogs too). Hope she is feeling better today Leema!
  22. We have Abrolhos King of the Pride, born 2009, WA registered, transferred to Victoria and then transferred to Tasmania. One of the pups we bred in July this year is named Allerzeit March of the Celts, Tas registered. Interesting that Qld won't allow "of" - I'd be furious if it came back as "ov"
