  1. dont feed him out the bowl feed him out ur hand. i trained my pup from that age with his dinner or some of it. Its not normal at all. i agree call and speak to steve at k9 pro as well.
  2. Really its ALOT of work 2 deaf dogs?? and two pups at that. personally i would not do it you have still got the teenage hood to come and 2 dogs going through that together and both being deaf will be a hard task. the little pup will find a home. you have a pup now you need to train and it sounds like you are going great
  3. I totally agree. i think you are not sounding ready for a puppy. i think you need to get some help now you have a bull breed dog in an aparment. whom who dont have any understanding of its needs. maybe someone will put a link up too those books about puppy raising. CALL THE BREEDER AND GET SOME HELP make the call now to get some help do the right thing. get up in the night to this pup. or send it back so it can be rehomed. and do some reserch and get a breed more suited to what you want and maybe an older dog. this is a baby like a baby human it wakes needs to go to the toliet and needs love and reassurance.
  4. mine said they decide but i did go lower than 60 LOL. so did not reject or accept ok i tried for 50 55 and now 60 LOL just so you all know LOL
  5. we had a rotti and after he passed we looked for another til we saw the price of them well we have a samoyed now LOL. a BREED i never evan knew much about. Until i did one of those pedigree puppy finder question things on the internet. and was like what a samyoed?? reserched it and now we have one. he is testing sometimes but is a great dog.
  6. having a fluffy dog like mine LOL did u get the extra bed for it?? Tsar can get very hot so im a bit worried about bedding etc?
  7. I dont have alot of room and storage so thats why im more looking towards a soft crate. when i say he chew happy its more the kids stuff. Like wooden blocks etc. and with 3 kids there is always a toy somewhere. we had a metal one before (my brother has it at the moment for their dog.) I was worried with the price differences and being in w.a. there is not many over here to look at (i have seen none in the local shops that would fit him) and would like to know about quality.
  8. time for a professional help. my boy started this but i did not let it get far and got help now he no longer does it.
  9. hey im looking for a soft crate for my samoyed. He is still a little chew happy when left in the house on his own. and normally sleeps out side but we are having some wild weather so re teaching him to back into a crate would be great. can anyone recommend me some? thanks
  10. I think when their time comes it comes but til then we love and enjoy them there is not time for worry and stress. My rotti died at age 8 HE was fine I had a baby 1 week later he took along time to get up and out for tea then the other dog attacked him. (never ever done this before) next he had a fit and that was it he was sent up to the vets and he was put to sleep. looking back my hubby thinks he seen more signs than we noticed (got to love hine sight) but it was heart breaking it took days for me to stop crying i could not go out the back for ages (even saying all this im welling up) ok point of story IS.... you cant stop them from being taken from us all we can do is enjoy what time we have with them.
  11. i agree. its your dog now. they need to let it go and move on. its not fair on the dog and i would say sorry but last time u left it stressed her out (i thought u have a him lol)I cant allow it again its not fair on her. whats your email address maybe i can email you updates and in a few months when she is settled in properly maybe then we can meet at the park and you can see her again. do it nicely but firmly. also lock the dog in when u go out. (just in case) I had to rehome 2 dogs at different times. other then knowning they where ok i was not going to visit said dogs they are no mine and i need to leave it be as this person needs to lern too.
  12. I dont let my dog play with other dogs, I belive to much can go wrong...in I'm conditioning my dog to be totally alloof to other dogs and people apart from me and my family. Can I ask why? Its really horses for courses, but I hope to ingrain alot of specific behaviour in my pup, and a negative experience from another dog especially an aggressive experience could make my dog "dog aggressive for the rest of its life.... Also I dont want my pup to instictivly bite someone while playing which is the normal way pups play with one another. I teach my pup to chase and play with my kids but the bite is always on a toy and never our clothes or body. I also dont want my dog to look at another dog as a source of fun.. this can lead to distraction when there is another dog around during training. I want my dog to look to me and my family for all positive experiences we are its pack and its world.. People I'm not a strict with that because my breed (Cane Corso) is normally aloof to strangers, but the goal is to make my pup neutral that is he doesnt care if people are around or not rather then look to other humens as treat depensers or pat machines.. all that stuff should come from me and my family. These are my views which I have understood from alot of the Leerburg training stuff. You don't understand Neutrallsation from the explanation you have given it. Isolating a dog is not Neutralisation. hmmm i agree. my dog does not play with other dogs. He even at the closed in park will come back when called. hmm i dont get it at all.
  13. train her with her tea. what ever you feed make her work for it. 5 mins of work lots of thinking. she needs to think not just excersise. means u dont have to walk her heaps but get her mind ticking over. lots of new tricks to teacher her even sits stays etc. good luck my boy has decided to chew all sorts up damn teenage dogs
  14. i have a dog now and he is just not a toy playing dog. he will rarely play tug and i got him all sorts of diffirent toys and he is just not intrested. i give them to my brothers resuce dog LOL he loves them and my money was not wasted. he will play with food toys. So he gets treats in his cube and he did have a bobalot but it went in the bin as i put dog biccys in there and never realized that he stoped playing with it and it was not nice after that. He is the most fussiest dog i have ever had or seen. he does not like kibble at all unless i cover it in something eles. he wont eat lamb bones. he likes chicken carcass and marrowbones (but not often he gets runny poos). he is just a funny dog and he was not allways like this but the older he gets the worse he gets. just to add i have had him since a pup.
  15. yep i have heard this one that the bitch can never have a pure litter if she has been breed to a diffirent breed.
  16. i think there is tasers but not all can have them (dont quote me on that)?? there is just about more who har with tasers then guns in wa. maybe the way the attack was tasers where out then u have 2 dangerous dogs maybe it was not an option. we will never be told the whole truth as always just what media wants us to see. i dont think they did anything wrong they did what was needed and the poor police dog did not look the best at all. im not sure why there is such a thing on here about 2 cops saving their dogs life but killing a dangerous dog in the process. this is a home that has been on the new many times and cops raid it alot its a too hard basket house and now its the cops fault for shooting their dog ???? if i was going to that house and was a cop that dog would have been out also its a dangerous house.
  17. ok this house is a problem house its not just any old house with a one off reason for the cops to be there hence why the dog was probly taken to this house. its been in the news for other reasons. poor police dog doing its job. and good on the police for doing what was needed in saving there work mate
  18. totally agree ....... I thought she was really asking about the puppy more then the bitch.
  19. this is a big key for us. I have 3 kids and one dog so having a fenced area is great as sometimes i just cant take him out on a lead. I am also a massive chicken and am to worried about letting him off lead. (this is something i have been like with all my dogs) there is a few places in margret river that allow dogs and have yards
  20. COTD has dog brushes 3 for 9.95 and u have 15 mins for free delivery
  21. i would say NO. they are not dogs for people who dont have time. they need alot of exercise and training. they are not for the adverage owner. also unless from a reg breeder i would not walk away RUN they can have temp issues.
  22. i totally agree she should not be off the lead in comapny of other peoples dogs. put her back on. to me u want an other astro she is not that and needs to be treated so. Also astro should be on a lead sorry but i cant stand dogs walked down the rd without a lead on. off lead areas yes but ever where else no. but other than that sounds like you are on your way but never ever be let your guard down.

Cool i looked at them before i got my boy. um goomer I know of a excellent one in oakford. I can get the details for but do not let them near him with clippers lol. There coat goes to crap and will never grow back the same. I just take my boy to better pets and gardens and wash him. But u must brush them out before washing him. If u want I'm in baldivis and can meet u at a park or somethig to show u how to bush him I won't be able to do it but can show u how to. There is a good website that explains how to line brush them. It's not hard to do. I wash my boy like every 6 months lol he gets brushed with baby powder when i get the chance. sammies are great

where south of the river??? there is a dog trainer who has had huskys that does training out of baldivis vet clinic. UM if you are closer to southern river you can go to the training there the spiz club holds training there. there is also Rockingham dog club. have you had a sammie before? Has your boy got papers and where was he breed? My boy is 1 as well. They are great dogs super super smart but i would say that aren not like huskys LOL. i find sammies are a little easier. As regards to house training that sucks he has not been trained. do what you would do with a pup Also they are smart my boy loves learning stuff. soooo im sure if you do small training sessions a few times a day the basics will come in no time. Good luck sounds like you are in the for a hard but rewarding slog. Also make sure you dont clip his coat even in summer its lots of brushing IF you are not too far im happy to show you how to do it. if you google sammoyed there is HEAPS of info about what they are like temp wise etc.
