  1. Wow I have never heard of winter nose, but it certainly makes sense. :D
  2. These pictures and story are hilarious  But I imagine that if you are anything like me.... they are not so funny when they first happen!! My RR, when he was 6 months old ripped a 20 cm diameter hole in a relatively new leather lounge!!!! I didn't take a photo I was too annoyed at the time!! But now it has all been fixed and it 9 months later.... yeah it was pretty funny!!
  3. They are wonderful at it!! If I'm not careful my 2 will try and help out the bin situation as well (the ever thoughtful mutts that they are) knock it over eat anything that they consider to be edible and leave the rest for mum to pick back up again As a result the bin now lives in the pantry behind a shut door. They (thank goodness) have never been sick from it either!!
  4. Congratulations to your daughter and the rest of your family!! She looks like she really enjoyed her day, and what fabulous results!! Great pictures as well!!
  5. What a great story!! And congratulations to your daughter and Jessie :D
  6. Wow that did sound like a scary experience!! I'm glad you are all relatively unscathed. I hope your new fence goes up soon!!
  7. I agree about the correct info... thats why I printed it out 3 times because it kept on putting ACT in as my address instead of NSW!! It would be fine in the preview....than print the wrong state!!! Finally printed it right when I did the forms individually instead of as a group.
  8. These stories of love and understanding from our four legged friends when times are not so good are just wonderful. I have teared up while reading a few of them... they have been so beautiful (not the hard times but the love from the animals) I hope everyone is feeling better soon!!
  9. Well mine are too today!! off to town to post them.
  10. As per usual I am super organised with getting my entries to shows in early....(NOT!!)I have just gone to print my entry forms off using the Entry form Australia program and I have realised that I only have blue paper to print on. Does this matter, or do I need to hold off for white paper? I live 1/2 an hour from town and I need to get these entries in the post tomorrow, so if I can get away with only making one trip to town that would be great!!
  11. I agree with the bolded part I have two dogs and two kids. All are behaved well enough to take out in public. My children have their fair share of *ahem* moments, but they are generally well adjusted little guys. There are similarities between how I 'train' my kids and my dogs (consistency, NILF, complete and utter stubborness etc). One of the big differences is that you can't crate your kids though, bugger it. I totally agree Huga..... man it would be nice to crate them (the kids that is ) Oh and I also agree with the rest, in that my 2 children and 2 dogs are well behaved enough to take out in public, and there are distinct similarities, to how they both get "trained".
  12. Yes it is a lovely show, well run and absolutely lovely people who try to help in any way they can. My only complaint is the burrs. Showing a coated breed is an absolute nightmare. It took me 2 hours to get the burrs out of just one dog. I know they can't do much about them but they're still really annoying... The advantage of having a short haired dog!! He was getting burrs in his feet though. It was "burless" in the hound ring, which was good. Nothing worse than your dog limping around the ring with bindies in their feet!! :
  13. I would like to say congratulations to the people who organised the show. I only attended Sunday, but I had a great time and everything, was well run from where I stood!! lol It was my first time there and I will definitely try and go next year!!
  14. Would love to say "hi" eventing pony!! :D
  15. There is no breed breakdown - 29 in hound group Thank you poocow
  16. Hi. Does anyone have their numbers and breed breakdown for this weekends Gilgandra KC Shows? I am entered in Sunday's show, (but I requested that I pick my numbers up there as I am travelling at the moment),and I was wondering if anyone could let me know how many dogs are entered in the Hound group, before the Ridgebacks? (trying to figure out what time to leave Narromine!!) Thanks in advance!!
  17. My first ridgie male would lie on his tummy to play with my friends tenterfield terrier. they had a ball together and he was so gentle with him. And my current ridgie boy @ 12 months of age is very gentle as well, but he has been "trained" by my 12 1/2 yr old bitch!!
  18. Mine aren't the only ones!!!
  19. We recently entered the showing world and when I train, with the dog, my daughter trains with her "dog" aka my 3 yr old son.....very funny to watch!!lol  Edited for spelling.
  20. I agree fantastic suggestions
  21. So nice to have a good news story!!
  22. Good luck with your move. I hope it all goes smoothly for you. :D
  23. My 12 moth old rr and 12 yr old rr work as a team to let each other in and out of the house!! It is quite funny to watch them in action. the disaster comes if we haven't shut the pantry door properly, when you go out, and they get in there.... icing sugar was fun to clean up off old floor boards, so was the cous cous, and the garbage spread from one end to the other!!! But all fixable!!
