  1. No that's definitely a fair call. The 3 year old amstaff I have owned under a week definitely did what I would call protect me the other night. I was taking her for a walk which I normally don't do without the boyfriend but anyway there was a group of 3 blokes who came up next to us and started being d!cks, asking what someone like me was doing out so late etc and started getting up in my face and one guy put his arm around me. My dog growled at them and they backed off..To me that's protective but I sure as hell wouldn't call it aggressive? Can't spell sorry!
  2. What about an American Staffy? They aren't exactly big but they are a great dog and I personally think they are a protective breed. Or maybe I'm just biased
  3. Well thank you However last time I attempted searching for Blue Stafford info on this forum it was an epic FAIL. I'll give it another go though.
  4. I'm having a bit of an issue with my new puppy. He's a feet chaser and nipper! do i need to just keep telling him no when he does it or has anyone else got any other ideas? his favourite is nipping heals and yesterday made my boyfriend's ankle bleed.
  5. Thank u! Can I just say I absolutely LOVE your collars off your website! :D I know where my dog's next collars are coming from thats for sure..
  6. Bahaha flexibubble what a cute shot..very nice looking dog.
  7. Thanks Now I'm a little confussed, someone posted something about dilute colour alopecia, I googled it and every website I looked at didn't mention the Stafford at all? Was Dobermans etc etc.. I'm no good with this stuff..
  8. I tried. Typed in blue staffies but it just came up with the list of breed chat thread thingos and rescue threads..?
  9. Just hoping some Staffordshire Bullterrier breeders or someone who knows abit about them could inbox me and explain to me what the problem with blue staffies is? I don't want to cause a huge debate on the forum so please only inbox me. Thanks..
  10. He does a bit doesn't he No Scout and Bronson aren't related at all but they act like mother and son
  11. Yes, as my APBT aged I got VERY emotional. My mum bought him for me for my 11th Birthday after the family cat was run over. We went through so much together, sometimes I even wagged high school just to spend the day at the beach with him :D I got so protective of him in his last years I dumped two boyfriends for yelling at him or smacking him because he peed on the floor or chewed something I'm almost 26 now and I only lost him in September 2010 to cancer. My heart shattered like you wouldn't believe.
  12. As far as I'd ever go is a coat for warmth.. I wouldn't be seen dead with my dogs in costumes! I agree with the comment
  13. Hello! just wanted to share some photos of my two American Staffordshire Terriers, Scout and Bronson. Also might add one or two of my APBT Zeke who passed away September last year. SCOUT
  14. Everyone involved sounds like a complete idiot to me
  15. Thanks.. she turned 3 years old December just gone.
  16. Sure, sorry. I was just trying to show the frame of her. I have a couple but they don't show the rest of her very well, I'm doing well aren't I Maybe I'm coming across wrong here. I don't want her bulky, a keg, tank or anything else! I just didn't think it was normal for ribs to be showing
  17. Hello again I have uploaded a couple of photos I just took of her. I have a feeling I'm going to get the same responses, which is fine! I guess I'm just not used to seeing dogs like this.. And because I can't resist, a photo of Bronson who arrived today. He and Scout get along beautifully..
  18. Hmm ok.. Well I have to agree and say she does look quite similar to that I've never seen an amstaff in this kind of shape before.. I used to own an APBT and he was a very solid dog up until the day I lost him at 14 years old, so to me, the dog looks underweight So, are you all suggesting she is fine the way she is and not try and put weight on her? I will upload more photos after work.
  19. I'd probably have to agree with that yes..
  20. The person I got her from said she had been running on a farm to which I asked the breeder and he said they had a small block somewhere (can't remember where now) and it may have been a possibility it was down to that..
  21. Yes pretty much just what to feed and how much. Never fed BARF before but would like to after having a chat to the Vet about dry food. Would like to feed it to my pup aswell when he arrives but I'm thinking of giving him Eagle Pack dry food with it until he's about 1yr only because I was told it's harder to get everything right in a BARF diet for young puppies..? I was basically considering the dog for a fortnight. Talking with this breeder and seeing if she would fit in etc. When I was sent photos of her she looked completely different to what she did when I got there to pick her up. Yesterday, about an hour before I was due to leave and get her, I was told she wasn't actually at this guys house but at his mates house as he had moved to Southern Cross.. I called him up after I got her and asked when the last time he saw her was - 4 weeks before hand, he had apparently been transfering money to his mate to feed the dog. Somehow I don't think the money was going on her. After I explained the situation and emailed him this photo late yesterday, he said she didn't look like that when she left his house. Anyway..I was hardly going to leave her there over something that can be fixed. If she was aggressive or something it would be a different story.
  22. Your opinion. Last three ribs showing is acceptable to me. She doesn't lack muscle. If her vertebrae were visible I'd say she was underweight. Agree to disagree
