  1. You are so lucky your boy waits to see if you come back!If I get up at 3am to go to the loo(which is most nights)Stan is straight in the spot I just got out of.So it's pull MY pillow out from under his head andaround to the other freezing cold side.He always does this really loud sigh like me getting back in gives him the s**ts!SORRY!
  2. My two shredded the yellow pages all over the backyard yesterday!Don't eat the yellow snow
  3. Both of my greyhounds sleep with me at night.Whoever gets in first gets a pillow and then the other one sleeps over my legs.Last night it was so cold my little girl Mads drew the short straw but pulled my dressinggown off the end of the bed and made a nest at the end of the bed!SO CUTE!
  4. I have seen that too. It's a great way to show people how gentle they are
  5. For my two it's Advantix.I don't really have a flea problem but ticks are a real worry here. For those who live on the central coast I recommend Tumbi Valley Pet Supplies www.tvps.com.au .If you pick up it's cheaper.I can get a 6 pack of Advantix for dogs over 25kg for $59.00.Otherwise Trixapet.com is really cheap too.
  6. I've been looking at all these lovely things you have in your backyard for your dogs and then look at mine.My greys have turned it into the closest thing to Dapto dog track they'll ever see again in their lives.Honestly I just mowed it this morning and it was like mowing the surface of the moon!List of things I had to pick up before I mowed. various toys half eaten plastic food bowl a couple ofhalf eaten chokoes a bra(wondered where that went) and pretty much half the yellow pages from the phone book that I stupidly left on the floor!
  7. Please don't move to off topic I don't have enought posts to get in there!!!!!!
  8. When a friend visited from Sydney recently she suggested we go for breakfast at one of the many cafes along the main beach strip where I live.I don't do cafes generally but off we went with my two greyhounds and another friend and her 4 month old ridgyX.Out of about 20 cafes there are about 5 that are dog friendly and they advertise them as doggy friendly,so we chose one of them and sat down.A couple came and sat at the next table and immediatley started looking at the dogs with distatse. My two were laying on the ground next to my chair and the puppy was tied to my friends chair. The woman continued with the death stares which I gave back tenfold(petty I know but my patience was running out)then before I could point her in the direction of "nasty bitch cafe"they stood up and stormed off not before hissing at my friend"bloody dogs shouldn't be allowed in cafes"!HELLO were in a dog cafe you imbecile! As my friend quickly held down the salt and pepper shakers and anything else I could use as a missile my friend with the puppy says it happens all the time! Then a young friend was telling me he and his girlfriend do coffee quite a bit down there but they go to a different cafe with their rescue greyhound. The other day a woman with a pram ran straight over Fred's(his dog)leg. When he stood up and said to her that she just went out of her way to run over his dog she spat out"get your dog off the footpath".Ashleys reply can't be printed here.Mind you the council have widened the footpaths to allow for outdoor dining. What is wrong with people?I don't have kids(not two legged)but I don't go down to the local park, sit on the swings and glare at the parents and push the kids over!Has anyone else had these experiences.I'm gobsmacked
  9. That is beautiful,my greyhound ate my tissues.
  10. I just rang a friend of mine who now lives in WA.She has used Bill Wright at Point Clare vet surgery(central coast) and she said he was fantastic.I have not used him myself but I hope this helps.
  11. I am on the Central Coast too so I hope you can feel my hugs
  12. OMG that second photo is gorgeous,I just wanna kiss their faces!
  13. I agree but mine don't bark so I'm relying on their size.
  14. I live on my own as well and have two greyhounds.Of course they are not guard dogs but just their size can be a deterent. If a stranger knocks at the door and these two go thundering down the hallway they always backpeddle.Mind you I would like to see a burgular try to outrun them!
  15. we must be doing it wrong! We must be!The funniest thing is I relayed that exact story to my boss last week and she looked at me deadly serious and said"why do you let your dogs get away with that?".I looked back just as serious and replyed"Because I've asked them to move out and they both said no".The look on her face was priceless!
  16. I have(had!)a lovely 3 seater leather lounge that I did buy second hand but in perfect nick. Now with two greyhounds I found myself sitting on the single seater while they lounge away in comfort.A friend was moving and asked if I would like his lounge.I thought perfect I get my lounge back. The dogs were so excited when we squished the new lounge into my small loungeroom.Of course they were excited now they had a lounge each!!!!!And where am I?Still perched up on the bloody single chair!
  17. A friend sent that to me as well.Funny and clever!
  18. Maddie would go out in a cyclone to do a wee but not Stan.No way.He will not go out from late afternoon until the next morning and even then if it's still raining the next day and I open the door to take him out you can almost hear him saying "no it's ok I'm fine honestly whats another 10 hours". :D
  19. Wow, you're intense! I live in an asbestos house with lead paint and now I've got to worry about getting electrocuted in the shower!
  20. I totally agree with JoeK and Staranais. When we were kids we were taught to never approach any dog and we never did.I don't have the problem very often as I have greyhounds(it's the old muzzle thing)but have seen it too many times.I live in a beachside suburb where our population triples in holiday time.Lots of dogs and LOTS of kids with so many parents not even watching their children.I was at the dawn service on Anzac day with my dogs and a lovely lady came up to me and ASKED if her 6 year old could pat my dogs.I don't see that very often these days.
  21. Made me dizzy too but very clever
  22. Thanks MEH.If I wasn't on DOL I wouldn't know these these things existed.Cheers
