  1. not sure - maybe, I will be going to VIC Jan but if it doesn't happen then probably not.
  2. what region of $$$ could i expect to fly a pup from VIC to Brisbane? cheers in advance for any guestimates/informed guesses/stabs in the dark
  3. boonie's is NOT farting. I thought as a lab we'd be subjected to an all consuming stink ball - in 16mths of his life i reckon I've caught whiff of him twice.
  4. An Airedale would make my wife's life complete. I totally recommend that she get one ;) trust me I keep a look out - 4 pups on DOL. how would they go interacting with a Lab? I would say they would go pretty well together, but it does depend on the dog(s) - our Abbey interacts really well with some dogs but with others they don't go together very well at all. Ok you are now my go to for Airedale questions. and on that note. would they be ok with roughly 2hrs exercise a day - split 1hr morning and night. Also are they ok to stay home whilst we are out at work? Would have Boonie as company. Would be an inside dog, allowed on the couch and our bed ;) would get a lot of swimming in.

  6. Labrador - and hopefully within the next 6mths or so we'll add another Lab.
  7. There are rogue operators in every field, every job in the world. Science doesn't differ there. But, the good science and scientists have done far outweighs the bad. disproportionately so.
  8. I don't find "shy" any less easy to swallow. "Reserved" on the other hand.. Or "couldn't give a sh!t about things I'm not bred for"
  9. Are you coming back to Brisbane? If so whereabouts? I'm an expat living in Brisbane with a Lab also.
  10. My dad has owned greyhounds for donkey's years and none of them are timid - probably so confident in their own skin they don't feel the need to communicate with every tom dick and harry that enters the yard - and also sleeping a lot. Perhaps this aloofness is being labelled as timid?
  11. Not sure - we fed all of them out of identical ice cream containers. And Boon was always the last to be sent to his food as he was the quickest eater and then would go on to whoever hadn't finished. But they always seemed to head for the Eukanuba. I even did a swap around of positions one night and same result. Boon has always loved Eukanuba and I can use it as treats he likes it so much. I've tried Boon on Raw and he didn't seem to have the same oomph come dinner time. They were all labs so they wouldn't have had an issue eating anything to be honets. I saw some photos on here somewhere of Boonie at the park just at the time you decided to stop the Raw feeding & meant to have commented then on how shiny his coat was. Was that after the RAW feeding? Interesting for a Lab not to have oomph at dinner time I don't think it came across as snooty. One of the main reasons we went back to Eukanuba was a degredation in his coat - it got lighter and lost some shine. Having been told that coat condition is a good indicator on all round health condition we went back to Eukanuba. His shine has started to come back (which I think may have been the pic you saw).

  13. Well I just puppy sat two other labs as well as our boy over the weekend and all of them wanted Boon's Eukanuba. The two that weren't ours came to us on Supercoat diet - one is trying to lose a bit. And the other Royal Canin. Each time the three bowls were put down they'd try to get to the Eukanuba first - until directed to 'their' bowl.
  14. Whenever we go away we leave Boonie with Fetch Pet Sitting - they are $40 a night though - not sure if that is considered dear - lovely couple who have your dog at their place or will come sir at yours - if you take them to theirs there are always other dogs there to play with and they own two standard poodles as well
  15. Wait until you've had the last lot of shots then rule of thumb is 5mins for every month of age. The repetitive walking motion can cause hip and elbow problems. Free play - go for it. Walks be careful.
  16. Tennis - it's amazing he'll watch the whole rally as soon as it's finished he'll look away - as soon as the next serve is about to happen - his full attention again.
  17. I thought you were saying you don't buy the story - as in it's hogwash. then I clicked my brain into drive.
  18. These are their underwriters The Hollard Insurance Company Pty Ltd (Hollard) AFSL 241436 Google them and see how many others they also underwrite.
  19. We met another Choc Lab on the weekend. Me "nice another choc boy" Him "no he's liver not choc" Me "same thing mate" Him "nope he's liver, he's darker than choc - that's what our breeder told us" Couldn't be bothered explaining any more how they are the same. So liver is used for darker chocs. To be honest they're all liver - choc probably just came about because it sounds prettier for potential owners.
  20. Indi_dog from on here did this one of my Boon - I love it.
  21. I was going to suggest this - but wouldn't rescue greys have issues with cats?
