Imported Stud Impotence/infertility - More Common?
Missymoo replied to Missymoo's topic in Breeders Community
Oakway, lol! You put it much better then I!! It was late....lol! Yep all she said :) -
Ok so we were discussing this a couple of weekends ago and I suggested perhaps asking trusty DOL! Lol! It seems there has been an increase on dogs that have been imported recently (last couple of years or so) that are shooting blanks upon siring litters here in Australia...can anyone relate to this? Do you think it is vaccine related..ie have they changed the brand of vaccines used etc? Ie some of these dogs have sired litters before leaving the country of origin too or tested to have live semen before leaving and then nil/ or blanks here... Just some food for thought??

Unsure of where 'mini foxy' was suggested?? Not a breed as far as I'm aware so hope your 'breeder' is supportive.... Although it is cute, have fun with her! I just am unsure why people bother asking for suggestions of they don't take anything on board...maybe I'm just tired and grumpy, but jmo...

It was long and up hill, so if you can get dropped off, do it..I had an asthma attack when I got to the dog pavilion!! Good news is the dog area seems to be slightly air conditioned to the point of its very plesant in there for both dogs and owner :) Bad news is toileting area isn't that flash again...a small kid sized sandbox was filled with fine loose soil..a malamute owner and myself questained this for white pawed dogs, and thankfully they did change it to fine sawdust, so that was good :) Showing area is good, but dogs seem to want to sniff the fake grass, so prepare for that ;) Over all it's a better benching area for the dogs, viewing tvs are fabulous and plentiful and it's comfortable for both dogs and exhibitor.

Still a bit of a trudge with a loaded trolley and a handful of leads! I thought it was a long way downhill on the way out..
-
I've jut been looking again at the new map for the new dog grounds...wtf is with the parking??!! I am by myself so I can't really drop off, which means I have to cart the dogs, trolley and other crap all the way through the grounds, over the road in the middle of the showgrounds to the new dog area..(from the primary school) either that or trudge down from the hospital...really??! Fan fricking tastic...

"....I have been showing Interstate for almost 2 months so missed the outbreak but do not want it now with Royals coming up. Will the VCA make comment and state where everyone stands? I have told them I Quarantined all my dogs for 3 months, 2 years ago after picking up KC at the Park. Has something changed? " ...said Bohunt - I don't know how to quote a wee bit ;) Yes ...ethics..and the desire to be "top banana" is stronger I guess??!

Well I have asked this very question to the VCA and also mentioned that it was on my old entry forms but has been removed from their new ones online. No comment has been forthcoming. I understood that this Rule would apply but there are so many people saying it is not so, I have asked for it to be clarified. I have been showing Interstate for almost 2 months so missed the outbreak but do not want it now with Royals coming up. Will the VCA make comment and state where everyone stands? I have told them I Quarantined all my dogs for 3 months, 2 years ago after picking up KC at the Park. Has something changed? Thanks for raising this, as people need to know what the Rule is and can act accordingly. Mmm like that will happen I can name three exhibitors that have had KC within that period and will turn up..are you kidding e! That's one of the reasons why I personally don't show during these months if I know I have big shows coming up, Ekka, Melbourne etc...but people get too wrapt up in winning etc I guess and don't give a toss about others. And no I'm not talking about those unwilling, I'm talking about those knowingly breaching the 3 month rule that they actuall sign, because you know many will....
