How To Stop Little Malt X From Growling At All Dogs
sas replied to BMAK's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
The owner needs to seek the help of a Behaviourist. -
Well it could go both ways could it, just like humans being an animal are born with certain personalities and mental instabilities so are dogs and any other animal. One litter bred by either lovely parents or not so lovely parents is going to have an array of personalities some easy going and some not so. Can nerves and aggression be bred on.....it's seen time and time again. Can an inexperienced person make a mess of a well temperamented dog, sure. Can an experienced person do better with a not so great temperamented dog, sure.

Back from the trial tonight. I found something to calm my nerves which worked awesome! Poor Mr Dante though, not a good night for him, he seemed concerned about the generator and didn't want to work, wouldn't drop either, was just all very bad. Sits were very slow too so had a look at his back after and looks to be out in about 4 places which is not unusual for him, he's always had back problems however he was fine on Wednesday when we were training. Think we'll break him for a month and just do fun stuff at home and then try again.

I would say if your dog is hiding food then its' not hungry and is saving it for later. Try cutting your dogs food back to allow for the treats?

Pain? Dante gets the shivers when he's in pain.

What Meat To Feed With Vets All Natural?
sas replied to all that glitters's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
VAN only reccomend Roo. If you don't want to feed Roo then you can feed anything but you can't really complain to them if it doesn't work. Good Luck with it! -

Telling 'Off' isn't positive reinforcement. I would take the dogs collar and remove it from the couch using the amount of force it takes to remove the dog from the sofda and do it everytime it does it, it's simply testing you to see how many times it takes for you to give up.

7mth Border Collie Uncharacteristic Barking/aggression?
sas replied to Jupiter's topic in Puppy Chat
Could it have been her prey drive? -
Puppy is only 9 weeks old, it won't be toilet trained for some time yet and you have to make sure the puppy never has an accident. In regards to 'Sit' - head to puppy school where you can learn to train your dog And in regards to the collar, tough titty, it will get used to it. Just attached a light weight lead to the collar when you're home and let the puppy drag it around so it gets used to the tention. At 9 weeks your puppy hasn't had all its' vaccination shots so you shouldn't be taking it out for a walk yet.

Yes, I was a bit worried about that but I just hate to see the poor little fella scratching and licking and turning his feet and bottom red. I thought the VAN and roo might effect a miracle cure. I thought I would feed a little at a time and see how he went. I think I might be trying to sort out the problem too quickly. He has had reasonable poos on the chicken and rice and only small amounts but the itching and licking seemed to get worse. VAN made my allergic dog worse, there's so many ingrediants in it that allergic dogs don't do well on to start with but I tried it. Are you also using the Powder Skin Support? When I let Van know after 8 weeks it was worse they said they were going to send me a diet sheet which I could make home made stuff myself for those really tricky dogs that don't respond to VAN - I mean WTF! Anyway, they also said that the product has loads of testimonals....I informed them so did the 101 other miracle cures I have tried, didn't hear from them after that. I reccomend heading to your Vet and getting a Derm referral.
