Apart from the very obvious and digusting animal cruelity - what Parents would let their Child do that!
  2. LOL I clicker trained Dante to accept vaccuming with the small attachment.
  3. Puppy rubbing his head on the carpet? My dogs hair thins in the exact same place due to that. Could be Mange as well.

Actually your information is incorrect. I work for a company who looks after a number of charities Direct Sales campaigns. No matter which method you decide to donate to a charity a certain percentage will always go towards paying people and costs and services - it will tell you that in the sign-up information. We'd all love it if 100% of our money would go straight to the cause however when you're realistic to think that people have to be paid regardless of if they do direct sales campaigns or not, you have office staff, leases etc etc etc. You can ask a Sales Rep how much of the donation goes towards the charity in the first year and then the years after so you feel educated in the process - I think education is better than presumtions because otherwise some really great causes aren't getting your donation.
  5. I've known it to happen as well - no one was there when it actually took place though.

  7. My boy just recently had a blockage with gas build up behind it and some of those symptoms were similar. I don't think it sounds like stress from getting a telling off. I'd be taking her to the vets today just for them to give her the once over even if she seems fine.
  8. Don't feel silly, the person who suggested that should - bloody hell A dog who is allergic to fleas doesn't even need to have any fleas living on them - they can just be bitten as the Flea jumps. Fleas can bite humans and do alot of the times, are some people more sensitive to flea bites to others...yes....just like anything else. If you find fleas on your dog then treat the dog and consider thhis could be causing an allergic reaction. Just head to your Vets.
  9. Says who though? Food allergies aren't that common, before wasting time and money on Diets you can't use in an Elimination diet I think it's more productive to follow the advice of a Vet or Derm.
  10. Best to see your Vet and then onto a Derm if the issue hasn't resolved. Food allergies aren't as common as people think they are, but no one here can suggest what your dog is allergic to, allergies can be complex combination so you need professional assistance.
  11. My old girl gets them every now and then and loves them.
  12. A super agile dog who looked like he was enjoying himself. Could he hurt himself....maybe...probably..... But I think this dog would be in a hell of a lot better muscular condition than most of our dogs and helps the dog to be injury free for long - but yeah all it takes is one bad move.
  13. I have them but don't use them for the manner in which they are used as a dominant dog collar. We just them just the same as you would a check chain that sits behind the ears but these 'Volhard/Snap Around' collars stay in place so you don't have to worry about re-adjusting the collar. If someone needs to use a dominant dog collar to knock the breath out of a dog they should be seeing a Behaviourist i.m.o.
  14. I'm not a purely positive trainer and believe in delivering adversives where I feel required and use the clicker. Sounds like a hater....
  15. There's been a topic on this problem before and some other Staffy owners commented they had seen it in their dogs too.

  17. My boy licks his legs when they're sore. If you think it's mental then you can try calmers like Troy Behave Paste, Rescue remedy - however one would think if it were mental he'd just rip the covers off you put on.
  18. Are you allowed to discuss such things if it's in court? In addition, this is just her side of the story, not nececssary what actaully happened.
  19. Please do tell me how to treat the immune system...nearly 4 years on and 1,000 treatments later and not one has worked.
  20. I have a 10 year old Dane and a Allergic Dog who runs hot - there are many different reasons why someone would want to keep their dogs comfortable. Who cares anyway if people chooses too, certainly no effect on you. If people want to provide temperature comfort to their dogs then so be it, why would you look down your nose at them.
  21. Fire hazard? You leave electrial appliances switched on for long periods every day and don't have a fire. 46+ and leaving the dogs out in it is your choice, I certainly would not be doing it, my breeds would probably die in it.
  22. I've been a runner in NSW, the rules state that you need to have a Drs Cert that states you can't run etc. - with this you apply Dogs NSW and if successful you send this in with your entries, also your runner needs a number. As a runner, I stand back and wait until the Judge asks the dog to be moved and then a step in, the whole process is pretty quick, I've heard some people complain it slows things down, but in reality you know when the Judge is going to ask to move the dog so you're ready, you take the lead and go, the transitions are pretty smooth if everything goes well. I never say anything to the Handler.
