Beautiful!!!!

It's isn't normal, the OP said: 6) Following me around everywhere from room to room. If I leave the room he will follow me everywhere & gets distressed if he can't get to me. The dog getting distressed is not a good thing.

Sounds like you need some help with how to train your dog. Have you considered getting in a Trainer (to your home) to help you and perhaps a Behaviourist to help you with your relationship with your dog especially in relation to the seperation anxiety? Sounds like a normal dog to me who hasn't been trained or had the right relationship formed with it i.e. Leadership/

Raw meat is much higher value than Kibble and that 'could' have sparked a fight. Just feed them seperate and see how that goes. You could feed both dogs Raw?

My dog has little scars and his were removed when he was still int he whelping box.

I wouldn't get another puppy for a few reasons.... Pups of similar ages can create very strong bonds together in which it can be difficult for them to find mmore value in you than in each other and also due to the strong bond they form with each other seperation anxiety (from one another) can really be a problem. Many ethical Breeders will not re-home pups together for the above or similar reasons. It seems like a great idea to keep each other company and have a play mate but it's not a good idea when both are pups.

Potato peel isn't toxic. It's important to read and research information from your own country when looking up what is toxic and what isn't as some information is specific to certain countries where certain things are considered toxic due to things that are specific to a country etc. Also, alot of American sites are scare mongers - Americans love drama from the look of many of their pet BE AWARE sites! Any substance in a food may have a degree of toxicity or 'poisonousness', whether it is natural, deliberately added, or a contaminant. There is nothing special about natural chemicals in food and no distinction should be made between natural and other substances when deciding if a food is likely to be hazardous. For example, a potato contains a number of poisonous substances such as nitrate, arsenic and solanine but in the amounts in which potatoes are normally eaten these natural substances are not hazardous. For this reason it is important not to consume large amounts of a small number of foods, as in some faddist diets, but to consume a wide variety of foods. This not only minimizes the amount of a particular potentially hazardous substance but also ensures that a range of essential nutrients are consumed. My dogs eat raw potato's and cooked potato's with their skin on and no dramas. Your pup could have just swallowed it hole or didn't like it so brought it back up, no biggie

Toby has had: beef fish turkey lamb chicken roo pork what else is there? Goat We used Goat at one point. We have quite a large Muslim community here and can get a whole Goat (butchered) for about $70, alot of places sell it for between $6-9 a kilo diced with some bone in it - I think they use it for Soup? Then you have all your Game meats, it's amazing what you can find when you start looking ;) -
Congrats everyone on your results! Sucks about the bad weather, our first trial was wet ground and raining!

I don't think Pernaease powder has the same ingrediants as Sasha's Blend. They have the same 'active' ingrediant though.

I vote see a Bahviourist. And bloody disgusting a shelter let this dog leave there with these problems, should have been corrected or put to sleep.

I disagree totally with stereotypical "socialisation" and the need for dogs to interact with others, IMHO they don't. They need to be aware of other dogs and learn to ignore them is best. When they learn the enjoyment of other dogs, is when they play up seeing one and misbehave on the leash. Friendly dogs want to play, reactive dogs want to fight and the way I like it, is a dog that doesn't care about other dogs and has no interest in them taking the sighting of other dogs in their stride. Fiona They don't need to ignore them - that's what you want - and that is fine if that is the method of training you conduct. HOWEVER for a dog that has had a bad experience ceasing all socialising is NOT a good thing. Edited: When I say socialising I'm not neccessarily talking about dog parks (I'm not a fan of them personaly). I believe in neutralisation of dogs especially if you want them to work with you - BUT the average joe blogs likes their dogs to have dog mates and go to parks so if they're going to do that and don't know how to handle their dog in-case of an incccident a session with a Behaviourist would not go astray. When people start AVOIDING that is when problems start after an inccident. So....next time you wanna jump on the bandwagon can I suggest you don't make assumptions as to what you believe people meant - maybe ask a few more questions?
-
Whatever you do, do not start avoiding socialisation with other dogs because that's when you will start to have a problem. So if you're not going to go to the dog park anymore socialise with dogs you know or only let your dog off at the park with trusted dogs. Perhaps do some work with a trainer/behaviourist to help you manage situations when they occurs?
