Any other PM results?? What time did the second show start. We usually go but gave it a miss this year. I can remember the second show ending in the dark last year!! ;)

Anyone received their numbers for this show or know if it will be inside or out?

You sound like you are in dog showing for the right reasons and you put the breed before your personal success in the ring. There are many people (including my breed) that would NEVER sell you something decent just incase you beat them in the ring with it!!!! And if you as a new person dare beat them you are given the cold shoulder!! I have seen many new exhibitors discouraged by these actions. You are right we all need to help and encourage new people into our breeds.

I agree with your points - Many exhibitors have very nice dogs that have earnt 200, 300, 400+ points but will never get 4 groups or 25pt CC. Returning to the old system would give these people something to aim for.

I totally agree with your logic. I personally don't show my bitches when they are right in but on one occassion I did when I knew the judge really liked my bitch and she showed so well and won!! If other exhibitor choose to show a bitch in season I only ask they worn me so I can keep my dog away from their bitch. I would perfer this to showing against desexed bitches (but that is another issue!!).

I totally agree with your opinion. I used to enjoy the showing too but have cut down the shows i go to due to the reasons you have mentioned. I also found that once you dare win again a more established exhibitor the nastiness begins!!

I think anyone who has been showing for a time would agree face judging does occur. If I suspect that has happened I make a note never to enter under that judge again. I feel this is the only way to give that judge the message - less and less entries will hopefully highlight to those judges that this practice is not appreciated. After all if you pay your money your dog is entilted to get a fair look. Thankfully there are many judges out there that will put up the dog not the face.
