  1. Prednisolone is a steroid which long term has some nasty side effects, hope your pup is ok now :)
  2. Apoquel is the one the vet mentioned and wasn't keen on using and cost $4 a day? I think thats the name. Treatments like steroids long term or the Apoquel are usually best as a last resort so I would trust your vet on that. Defiantly could try a antihistamine but some times you have to try a few to find one that works, I'd speak to your vet about that. Medicated shampoos on the feet for 10mins can also help (on my old allergy dog I used malaseb, my new allergy dog I have mediderm). Also the aloveen conditioner can be used as a barrier cream on the feet for these dogs.
  3. Super weird, I would have been concerned too, wonder what the police thought it was then.
  4. One of my dogs found an echidna in my parents backyard, I heard her barking so went to get her in and found she was barking at an echidna. I was so stoked to see one in the wild as I have only ever seen one in a zoo before (echidna was not harmed by the dog in anyway as she was terrified of it and was standing metres away barking looking worried  ).
  5. I think it may be the outline of a Asian house gecko at best guess?
  6. Came across this in the side walk when taking the dog for a walk, had to do a double take lol. Feel free to add anything unusual you have seen on your travels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I almost think it's lucky they are such seriously underrated little dogs as it's easy to find a good breeder as the byb's don't yet have their grubby mitts much on the breed. Chaos I wish I was in your state as you guys are so lucky with having your meets, there is nothing like that here. Just have to add a couple of beautiful photo taken but the awesome photographer Charlotte Reeves here in Brisssie of my girl. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Awww Bubba and Miro are too cute! I second a pet loo if you don't have a patch of grass, mine for her first 4yrs of life was pretty much an apartment dog and it was so good having her toilet trained to one. We have now moved to a townhouse with a small grassed yard for her benefit but to be honest she only uses it to toilet and sunbake.
  9. I have a little smooth coat griff and she is fairly low shedding except a couple of times a year when dropping coat. They love love their people although I work full time and she is fine with that as she has us from the time we are home and sleeps in our bed. They seem a very healthy breed but good breeders with test for the big genetic problems. They are very sweet dogs and can vary in the activity level, mine is very active and my parents is a lot more laid back.
  10. But another thing that is a factor that might be the appeal for people to turn people to the smaller breeds is the keeping costs are smaller as well as the longer life span.

  13. I'm the type who tries to avoid reinforcing unwanted behaviour... So you are the type to ignore the plight of an animal you once owned to prove a point?
  14. But we don't know if the breeder actually disclosed the problem in its full light. To be honest I doesn't seem the breeder cares much about the dog to not take it back as any breeder worth their salt would take a dog back in the first few months.
  15. From reading that I would assume the flight/transport was already scheduled and the frog was a tag along for the trip.
  16. It's not the pet store or vet that is out of pocket if you return a bag but the actual pet food company. When I worked as a vet nurse it was never a issue the company always refunded us the money and it helped get people to spend that bit of extra money to get their pet on a more premium food if they knew it could be returned if the pet turned their nose up at it. When they saw the results from going from chum to a premium they were loyal to the brand.
  17. All three, changing one over every hour on the hour????. But seriously the bottom one I think.
  18. I don't often recommend them but a smooth coat griffon bruxellois ticks all your boxes. My boyfriend is smitten with our girl (he didn't want a girlie dog either), they love being with their people and ours goes as many places as we can with her, are active but will settle when you do, ours loves going to the beach but isn't a real keen swimmer but loves the sand. They are really wash and wear with just paying special attention to the nose rolls with a wipe out every so often.
  19. The smooths are just the best, I love their facial features and the looks they have. He is so photogenic! How much does he weigh?
  20. My pup is an allergy dog so I bathe her every week to wash any allergens off her skin and coat, and twice weekly if it's medicated bath time. Nails get done every two weeks.
  21. I did a straight swap with mine, there was no way I was giving her pal and the pet chicken mince she was brought home with lol, no problems with the swap either.
  22. Its funny you say that as I am yet to see a dog inside my local two Bunningsk store since they have been allowed.
  23. Lol stressmagnet, I'm a Labrador.
  24. Just downloaded a new app called Fetch, you just take a photo of the dog and it identifies the breed the dog is, was spot on with my smooth coat griff. I'm not sure if I remember right but I think if it is a mixed breed it will identify the breeds in the dog.
