  1. You did awesome! I would have been a nervous wreak. It was lovely to meet you at the brisbane workshop ( I was asti's the smooth griffons owner) so I already had a face to the name.
  2. I agree with sas. I strayed from what my dogs breeder fed straight away. He was very old school and fed puppy pal and pet mince which looked horrible and I would never continue on with that. She now gets Big Dog Barf, Ziwipeak, chicken wings and necks and lamb flaps, sardines, eggs and healthy left overs. I think saying to stick with what the breeder feeds is to general and its good to do research into what your own beliefs are on feeding your pet as most breeders have many dogs and price often times would have to be a consideration.
  3. Lol it's making me peckish for cheese and crackers.
  4. Pet Barn sell the freeze dried green tripe from NZ, cant remember the name but I have bought it a few times and the dog loves it!
  5. Mine is from this morning. Two year old 'pup' obviously couldn't make it downstairs last night and had done a massive poo on the carpeted stairs half way down and smack bang in the middle. Then enters the boyfriend walking down the stairs in the dark in socks to head to work and steps right in it, the laugh I got was well worth the clean up!
  6. People don't bother arguing, they just say oh so a griffon is a pug x what then. I'm actually a bit sick of the attention she gets took her to the local markets and I have people picking her up and touching her without asking, she even started getting stressed by it so we left.
  7. Everyone always asks me if mine is a pug x chihuahua or I always hear comments of look at the pug x. No one ever believes me she is a breed and not just a made up breed.
  8. I am far from angry lol. I just get sick of people saying the same thing and rudely at that when kelpie clearly explained herself. Really who cares if the media are reporting it as well.
  9. I'm sorry that simply pointing out facts is not nice or starting an argument. You are not just pointing out a fact, you are just being rude! Kelpie got her information via the people involved so stated that. Who gives a flip if its in the media as well we don't all live on the internet or with our eyes glued on the news, we can get given info in other ways liking talking to the people who were involved.
  10. I second the sugar and water trick, have seen it done a few times by different vets.
  11. Boston's are around the $3000 mark to buy and also very high energy.
  12. Yep if I had a big dog I don't think I could afford it, it's certainly not cheap. I'm just lucky mine is tiny so $45 every 2 months plus raw is ok.
  13. I was thinking the same. It is very expensive but I assume the quantity needed per meal would be less than other dry foods. I would still feed raw 80% of the time but just want one or two meals a week as something I don't need to think about before feeding it. Also to use when we travel interstate in our van as we don't have the room to store frozen meat for the dogs. This is how I feed it, she gets about 80% raw and 20% ziwipeak. She loves it and does really well, I can't complain about the price as my dog is under 3kg so 1 small bag last about 2 months.
  14. I feed it along with a raw diet, my dog will turn herself inside out for it! Feed it to much and like the others have said you get dark sticky poos but other than that it's a fantastic food.
  15. I use an extentable leash for my little dog but only in certain situations and with a large amount of caution and care. He sounds like a accident waiting to happen as those leads are not designed for a large pulling weight.
  16. My first dog was a beautiful spunky little silky terrier who I got when I was 14yrs old, she left me just shy of her 16th birthday from a brain tumour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. When I was a kid I used to sometimes put the dog in my jumper to go into the local covenience store to get mum some milk or bread or I would just carry her under my arm sometimes too. They never had an issue with it, i constantly seemed to have to run errands and as a kid there was no way in hell I wasn't going to take my little mate with me lol. I think I did that in all the shops but I think they didn't care as I was one of the local kids and always very polite.
  18. My girl loves her crate and doesn't even mind sharing it when we pup sit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
