that's got to be the funniest thing I've heard all day. Maybe all week. Have you not heard of seaweed?

I would prefer to live a "no kill" lifestyle across the board, I choose to not use products that test on animals as much as possible (ie: the ones that admit to it!) or eat animal products, but in choosing to own dogs I choose to feed them meat. Some people don't want to make the sacrifice in their pets lives and want to continue their "no kill" lifestyle (or whatever term they choose to use) by feeding their pets a veg*n diet. It probably hasn't occured to you because you aren't veg*n - but it's probably crossed the mind of most veg*ns ;) Well it has occurred to me, even though I eat meat, otherwise I would not have mentioned it as a reason :) So if the "no kill" lifestyle is that goal, maybe a dog or cat is not an ideal pet? In your post you said it hadn't occured to you. I don't think it's up to you to judge whether someone should have a animal just because of their beliefs. If someone wants to feed their animal a certain diet, and it doesn't hurt them - so what? edit: I'm not going to get into an ethical debate with you over a "no kill" or vegan/vegetarian lifestyle.

What's with the asterix, Max? I eat vegan food these these days for health reasons but I certainly dont impose it on my dogs. Sorry, it's just habit. In the vegetarian & vegan community it's common to splat or hypenate the word so it can stand for vegan or vegetarian without having to write both of them out.

I think that's a good point, but I also think not enough un-biased research has been done to see if does or does not do any harm.

Aren't dogs meant to be restrained when they are in cars anyway? I don't believe it's law in every state, but it may be in some? Someone else will know I'm sure. A quick google told me that it's not the law, unfortunatly. Just can't have them on your lap or unrestrained in the back of a ute.

This is what I was originally thinking, maybe all these chemicals have dried out his skin or ruined his immune system. I just didn't know it it was a plausible hypothesis. I've not heard of CHM for dogs! I had some for pregnancy years ago. Where did you get it from? I use Lyn at Alternative Therapies 02 9606 8922, in western Sydney but she does do phone consults as well. If you want to try a natural diet start with raw mince and add some rice and a few veges like pumpkin and zucchini put through the food processor. Meaty bones are better than mince but the mince can get them started on eating raw. You could also try chicken wings cut into jointed pieces, rather than a carcass to start as well as eggs and canned fish like sardines or tuna. Don't worry about balancing the diet for a month or so, when you can do more research on it. The object is to get rid of the commercial food. Also All Natural Vet Care in Russell Lea, Sydney - http://www.naturalvet.com.au/ They do phone consults as well. -

I work with a few guys who have fancy cars/show cars and I asked them about it. They said their number plates are a part of the show car as they are personalised to add to the "wankyness" (ok, that was my word, not theirs ). They often spend a lot of money on adding the plates to the car and are proud of them and want them to be shown as a whole package. (and on the same note, my numberplate is my name - oh noes, I better hope no one sees it and knows what it is )

Will do, it is also in the General section, it is only 30 minutes from the Sydney CBD. Liverpool (which is where Wattle Grove is near) is well over an hour from the city, if you factor in traffic it can be closer to 1.5hours.

I'm vegetarian and my guys get fed a raw meat diet, because I believe it's what is what is best for them. I struggle with handling the meat, and the smell of meat - but luckily my OH isn't vegetarian so she gets tasked with that most of the time lol I even make my own raw mix, I don't buy commercial because again, I believe it's better for them. My pugs love falafel and chick peas and tofu and veggies (probably just because they are pugs and to them, food is food), but I'd never feed it to them as their only diet unless they were allergic to meat. I'm not skinny, and I'm pale only because the instant I step into the sun my skin burns to a crisp, not because I'm nutritionally lacking.

Have you contaced breeders from the DOL breeders listings?

Sorry, I don't even know where wattle grove is :/

Cleanrun.com Has Free Shipping On Lots Of Toys...

I wondering if tracking is unreliable once it leaves the US? Maybe the hurricane is affecting some things also? I read earlier today that they were closing subways and other public transport in New York. I think it's very unreliable once it leaves the US as it's a US based postal company, not someone international. But I since others who ordered after me have theirs, I assume mine with be here soon, patience just isn't my strong point lol -
A numberplate is public, every Joe and Sally driving past you can see it, why would you blur it just because it's on the internet? Do you blur it when you drive down the street?

I'm so envious! Not hearing any news yet about mine is proving to be quite lethal. I'm really struggling not to go back and place a third order! Have you checked your account on the Clean Run website? You can log in and check the the status of your orders. I'm not sure how Minimax found out that her order was on a stop-over in New York though LOL. She must have VIP access :) You get a tracking number with your shipping email, so you can see where your package is. -
I think they meant match the background, not literally just white ;)

Adults don't "need" crates, but a crate trained pup will usually love their crate and see it as a good place to be. One of my dogs hates hers though, and I really don't know why I still have it, but the other goes in there with his chews or sometimes takes a toy in there if he wants some peace and quiet.

This thread http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/179318-pet-friendly-accommodation/ has some accommodation links and recs for all over Australia, that people have been to, but honestly the best way to find places is to use google. That's what I do when I'm looking for somewhere to go, or wanting to find out if I can take my dogs with me when I'm going certain places. Either people have asked the question before you, or the website for the place you want to go will tell you if pets are allowed or not.

Looks the same to me, isn't as cheap as you can get it elsewehre though

+1 I'm finding it hard to understand a lot of asal's posts lately

Oooh they look great- and like they would last with a 16kg kelpie climbing up them which most don't!! Oh they look like something mine would use! Mine tend to just jump over anything I put for them to climb down, but they look big enough for them to actually maybe just consider using (wishful thinking, maybe )

Those look okay, but I can't see how they don't slip and slide all over the wooden floors?
