  1. Poor little man I can only imagine how sad the family are
  2. Sweet dreams forever, Jessie
  3. Most breeds cut their adult teeth between 20 - 25 weeks, so not long to go now
  4. For those who truly love to show in style.. I have found the most stunning size 10, Anthea Crawford, designer suits. It is truly stunning. It's a skirt and jacket combination, it's pink , with a gorgeous pattern that is a little hard to explain ( certianly nothing over the top ). The jacket is trimmed with a gorgeous broche, that clips it together in the centre. It's not cheap, but considering they sell for over $600 new, I think $150 is a pretty good price. P.M me if interested and I can arrange to buy it on your behalf and post it. :D
  5. I'll be in town later toady at some stage, so you want some bandage that won't stick to her leg ? You will just need to put something over the area and then use the bandage ? It won;t be the pink roll, as that hasn't been opened, but you can use the orange or red one. I'll even bandage it for you
  6. I'm sorry for your loss, he looked just like my boy Squarlie and he was taken too soon
  7. Thanks Sam, I know he's in heaven with some very special dogs. I know, it's still not fair, he was only a baby
  8. Thank you all for your kind thoughts, I know that many wishes were sent, much praying was done and everyone that knows me and the dogs, willed him to live from the minute he was born. Sadly, it' was not enough. I know quite a few of you also got attached to him, without ever having met him. He was special, even though he was with us for such a short time. RIP Turbo and your two big brothers. I know MiMi was at the gate waiting for you.
  9. My parents are well trained, they too have a Border ( retired show bitch ) I would have to say they are amongst the strictest owners I have come across. The bitch does have snacks etc, but they are quick to balance it out, by reducing her breakfast. I agree about the vets, far too many of those about. There are also those that say, " hey Rover is over weight, he needs some of this brand super expensive food " and then neglect to tell them, that if they cut back the food and treats and took him for a walk, they would be much better off. There are good vets out there, it's just a matter of finding them. :D
  10. Doesn't that sh!t ya It's really sad, that the % of overweight pet dogs, is so high, that the ones who are at the optimum weight for their breed, type etc, are the ones that look out of place and are called skinny. I don;t have one skinny dog in the kennel. I have a few Pugs that others would consider under weight, but I perfer mine to be active and know that they will have a long life. Not having a go at your Dad. How the hell do we change that kind of mind set :D
  11. I was looking at her and thinking if she was mine and the vet said she was in good health, then I would consider that a very healthy weight for her age. I agree with the others about feeding a premium food and making some other changes to her diet, with the emphasis on quality not quantity. Many owners make the mistake and confuse fat , with muscle tone and condition. Many like the look of the "big chunky dog " when in reality their dogs are very much over weight and all they are doing is reducing the number of years , their pet has on the earth. Condition and muscle will come with time and the appropriate amount of exercise for their age, you just need to be patient. You may also find that no matter what you feed her, she may well ne a naturally lean bitch. People that fatten their dogs, as puppies, are asking for health concerns later in life. :D
  12. For 12 days and nights, I held you in my hand to suckle. Born with the heart of a lion and the body of a mouse, you showed me why you deserved a chance. Your eyes opened and you needed my help less, you could now reach on your own. I'll never understand why you were given to me, only to be taken away. Having always been tough, I think you came to soften me. My little angel, who is now in heaven, Sweet dreams forever, my Mighty Mouse 11.01 am 19/09/06 - 11.47 am 05/10/06
  13. For those that come out of the wood work, once a year, the serial non-brushers of their dogs. I would charge them around $90, they are not the bread and butter 6 or 8 week regular grooms , the dogs are usually harder to handle and it normally takes more time, to get them done. I would have charged them around $90 + for that, compared to say $60 for a cocker in good condition
  14. I'd need to have a look at them TB, but if they are that long and you can't cut them. It may be a job for the vet. I'll chat to you today , about what they do to help and then what you need to do after that
  15. Kaos has a beautiful half sister, who would scale over a 6 foot fence, topped with another few feet of wire. She could also climb cyclone wire as well. She would get over the fence, into the neighbours at the back , jump his front fence and sit at the front of his house and wait for me to drive around the bloody block and collect her. Why she would do this is beyond me, she was well fed, exercised every day, shown most weekends, even had litters at home and would do it, she got attention and had the company of other dogs. Maybe she just liked the morning ride in the car.
  16. There is no BSL in the ACT. All dogs can be purchased, sold and rehomed without any restrictions. What this has to do with dogs escaping, I'll never know. Dogs escape because, we don;t build fences high enough or strong enough, we don't lock the houdini's up in a pen when we should. Dogs get bored, when we are away from home and some get bored when we are home, due to lack of attention. The grass is always greener and smells better on the other side of the fence, wandering down the street is far more interesting than looking around the smae 1/4 acre block, day in day out. Some dogs need more exercise and stimulation than they get at home and get it by jumping the fence or digging and getting out. Some get out by accident, they start digging a hole or banging at the fence palings and next thing they know, they have a new world to explore, they are smart critters and having done it once, try and do it again. Some suffer from seperation anxiety and loneliness and go looking for their master or anyone willing to give them a pat. Then you get the ar$eholes who open gates and let dogs out, or people that can't close gates properly and the dog gets out. And to top it all off, you have those idiot owners, who don;t feel the need to close their own gate and are happy for little doggie to run the streets.
  17. We love you Ollie Dog :D I will call the first baby that pops out this morning Ollie or Olivia, in his honour
  18. I have considered paying for obedience for the first year for my puppy buyers, but a puppy pack has to stop somewhere. No point selling the puppy along with goods, to the value of your dog, in your puppy pack. Yes, shame on me and shame on Eridor for not doing it the right way. Nivia, you have a very cute, young baby. If you would like any help, not a lacture about what should be in a breeders pack, please feel free to ask.
  19. I cannot believe the amount of crap that dribbles out of your mouth. My puppy pack contains very little information about crate training. Please read and approve for me L.M. I would like an expert opinion on what should be in my packs according to you. I have noted hat you neither own or breed the O.P's choice of dog, nor mine, so it should be interesting to have your expert opinion on both breeds. Looking forward to it
  20. No Warley, I feed ONE of my dogs (Molly) a tiny handful of Nutrience or Dick van Patten's Natural Balance organic formula for breakfast b/c I can't feed her a raw meal at that time b/c she's a very slow eater. I've already explained the need for this numerous times. Maybe you should get out of bed 15 minutes earlier , so she doesn't have to suffer, the poor girl, that hypocritical kibble must taste horrible. Maybe you should remind yourself that I have two other dogs in the household and often a foster or two. Hence the need for Molly to breakfast in a hurry. I wonder how some ppl have so much time to criticise others rather than doing something that might actually be useful to others? I have 9 dogs, they all have an individual diet and I find time to cater for mine. So that's no excuse. I wonder why people think that "raw" is the answer to every problem. Clearly it is not the case. A raw diet should only be attempted by a novice, with a very experienced person looking over their shoulder, not someone who has pplayed around with a raw diet for one dog. It has the potential to do more harm than a cheap dry food ever could.

  22. I would also be consider a Zinc supplement. A lack of Zinc in a diet can suppress appetite and the sense of taste . I can see that someone has also suggested the Vit B group as a supplement, this can often be very good for dogs that stress. Stress is not always obvious and the Vit B's provide some relief from nervous tensions etc. I like the Greyhoudn supplement called "Rebound". I've been down this road a couple of times, if there is no physical issue ( which your vet has stated ) then, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
