  1. Gertrude I was just looking at a City Farmers catalogue and they have those exact same pom pom collars on sale at present. They are called Spectrum Christmas Collars and are on sale from $6.39 each (20% off and I'm assuming they come in different sizes). oooh thank you! Hopefully I will be adding some pics to this thread in the not too distant future! :D
  2. Loving all the piccys everyone, super cute. Steph M where did you get the pompom neck things for Gus and Rosie? I reckon they might actually stay on my guys for more than half a second!
  3. gave me a laugh too. Not sure I agree with every example listed, but I get what they are aiming at in a light-hearted way.
  4. Beautiful photos and a lovely birthday gift
  5. So sorry to hear this Mysticpaw. Run free Ricky
  6. Good on you. I plan to do the same if I ever rent a property out.
  7. Thank you everyone! OMG they get their own flat screen TV there! I wonder what kind of discount they can give for two dogs and two humans over a long stay
  8. Oh Jelly what beautiful photos you have to remember her by. Roo was so lucky to have you. hugs to you
  9. I'm moving to Melbourne, from Sydney, within the next month as I have accepted a job there. I don't know anyone in Melbourne so I need recommendations for just about everything! But I'll start with dog related stuffs :) The job is in Fairfield and I'm looking at the Heidelberg to Viewbank area for a rental preferably but we may have to go elsewhere if we can't find anything in time. So I'm after recommendations for; Training club - I don't want to trial but just to teach my dogs ongoing obedience Vet Behaviorist - for one on one problem solving type training Boarding Kennel Great walking/biking tracks that allow dogs Good butcher as they are fed raw Dog friendly cafes My dogs are two sibes, they are both current with C5's but I plan to titre test from now on so a club and kennel that accepted titre testing would be advantageous (and also a vet that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for titre!). I'm willing to travel for the right place. Obviously though it would be good to have a vet close for emergencies and if training was after work on a weeknight it couldn't be too far away. Also if anyone knows any pet friendly places not too far from Heidelberg that are coming on the market please let me know!
  10. 41/52 - Keli (rescue) Keli by Gertrude139, on Flickr Hankdog awesome pond and waterfall, looks like Jake loves it, and I can see why. Great smiley shot of Clay, black and white really suits him too, and I like the background effect. Poor scraggly Harvey  no doubt he had a lot of fun though. The rare bearded spaniel  nice goatee Harvey! Will miss your gang in here tlc
  11. That sounds like great progress! Well done and thank you for helping her.
  12. Tears here as well, devastating. Run free beautiful girls and hugs for you CaseyKay
  13. I wasn't allowed a dog as a kid as my father hates them. The first dog I had was a guide dog puppy lab so we only had her for a year, then a few years later a second guide dog lab puppy. When the second one left I knew that I wanted a dog of my own but I also knew I didn't want a lab. I loved by the pups I had but they definitely weren't the breed I wanted to own myself. I have two Sibes now and I love the breed. But I wouldn't say I am breed loyal, more Spitz breed loyal. At some point I will have a Finnish Lapphund I am sure. I would also like a Shiba and an Akita at some point. The more Spitz breeds I meet the more I add to the list. I am a big dog person though, so a Shiba would be the smallest I would go. I don't think I will ever be without a spitz of some kind. There are some other breeds I love like Airedales, Boxers, Weimaraners and Danes but not sure if I will ever own one.
  14. Great photos tlc, looks like a great holiday. I think your Nephew is really going to miss them. at the koala one, what good participants you have. A silly one from me this week. 40/52 - Chopper (rescue) Chopper by Gertrude139, on Flickr

  16. 39/52 - Salt Happy Gotcha Day Salty Boy by Gertrude139, on Flickr Salt's 1st Gotcha Day today. He is adopted so we don't know his age or his birthday but we're saying 5 years old. We had a family breakfast at our local cafe, we all had bacon and egg rolls. Lots of people laughed at us and took photos. One lady and her daughter sang happy birthday to Salt :) Happy Gotcha Day Salty Boy by Gertrude139, on Flickr

  18. That's great Roova. I reckon you could win a photo comp with that one, funniest cat or something.
  19. So sorry to hear you have had to make this heartbreaking decision, Roo was so very lucky to have you as her owner. I too was a silent follower or Roo's story and you did everything for her that you could.
  20. Thanks for the kind words :) And at least thanks to this thread I have taken heaps of photos of them too, so glad I decided to learn to use a camera! I love that shot Impatiens! Great composition and focus - from the camera and from Harvey
  21. These were my first fosters waaaahhhhhh hopefully it gets easier? There's usually a bit of water works from me whenever I drop one of the kennel bears at the airport, and sometimes when others are picked up from the kennels but it didn't prepare me for saying bye to my fosters. I know they are going to a home better than what I can give them long term so I just have to keep remembering that.
  22. 37/52 - Sasha (rescue - assisted rehoming) 361A2660.jpg by Gertrude139, on Flickr Jake looks like he's lapping up that sunshine, another great shot. Cookie and Oreo have gone to their new home now. They left yesterday and I am very happy for them but I miss them so much.
  23. I've shared it with a friend who lives and works in the next suburb and she's shared it on her page. I hope he is found soon.
