My vet is doing this, i have talked to a few owners who have had it done on their dogs and they said the improvement is amazing
-
I am so sorry
-
Thanks for all that info
-
no, he cant reach that area to lick.. and it would take up too much energy! Never had to have a dog clipped before so yeah, thought i would ask here if it is something normal. Thanks
-
that is what i thought at first, but he was clipped last wednesday and it only showed up today? Weird
-
thanks everyone SL do you have the vets details? At had another urine test on the weekend, results are not back in as of yet. Once they come in we will know what our next step is. My vet has been talking to a vet who has done a lot of work in PKD in bullies so I am confident we are getting the best help on this. He had his ultrasound a week ago, I noticed today where they clipped him some of the fur is growing back, but there is a red raised bit that does not look nice. does anyone have suggestions on what i can do for this? or is it best to leave it?

I used Jet Pets to fly my 2 cats from Syd to perth then to Kalgoorlie. Then I used them to Fly Atlas and the 2 cats from Kal-Perth-Syd-Orange. didnt have a problem and they were great.

I dont have it, i have 5 pets and no way i can afford it. I put the money aside each week into a bank account. That way if i need it it is there, if i dont need it... i get to spend it :D My vet is great and i have been with them for 14 years. I am allowed to have an account there and I am a few hundred dollars in credit (someone put money in to help a puppy i tried to save and never told me who they were!) and i also put money on the account if i have some spare while I am there... sooner or later i know i will use it. I dont have a credit card but do know i can use mum and dads if i need money ASAP.

he is well in himself at the moment, more testing to be done on the weekend. So i am going to be positive and see how we go.

He went in and had an ultrasound and he has PKD. The vet i talked to has not had much experience with it but has details of a vet who does, so she is going to ring her this week and have a chat and see where we go from here. Poor boy is sporting a new hairstyle and isnt too happy. I asked what his lifespan will be, she said he may live forever, or he may only have a little time that it is hard to know. So now i need to look into a new diet and as much info as i can to stop this getting worse. I have informed his breeder of it as well.

That would be it, too diluted. I have been snuggled up on the lounge with him. I am trying to be positive, right now we dont really know anything so will just wait till wednesday
-
I didnt get all the exact words but she said he has higher urea levels than he should have and mentioned that his urine was too dilated (or not enough?? god i am hopeless). He is going back in on Wednesday to see the specialist and get an ultrasound and go from there
-
ok just got home, he is having full bloods run as well as had a urine test, results should be in this afternoon or early tomorrow. She wants to book him in for an ultrasound as well. Vet is worried about PKD, we also found another lump on him that has to be tested. She said he seems very tucked up under his tummy and something is going on. Need good thoughts for good results back

no, i honestly do not believe it is a dominance thing, he isnt marking at all, it is like he couldnt control himself.

It is the cat bed that he goes for, and if it isnt there, he will grab anything else that is around (thats why i leave the bed there, it is easy to clean and i dont care if it gets ruined) Vets open at 11 so will see if they can fit me in
-
thanks SL going to see if i can get him in today, otherwise it will be tomorrow

I used to work early mornings and kaos would wake at 4:50 every morning, when i moved to WA she didnt get used to the time difference.. and would wake 3 hours earlier! It drove me mad. When we moved home she kept doing it I now have her trained not to wake me till 6... need to work on getting her to 7am now and i will be happy!

i wish they could talk at times, then he could just explain what is going on and i could deal with it *sigh*
