how sad i have also been headbutted, once by a greyhound, i woke up with him jumping all over me trying to get me to play  and i had a door slammed into my head and was knocked out again by a bull Terrier. I opened the door and stepped forward just as she jumped on it! sometimes accidents do just happen

Nothing has helped here. I am just keeping his nails cut every two weeks, they grow so fast they curl under and hurt him. It has been raining all day and he is limping badly tonight

Experiment: Do Australian Dogs Recognize A Coyote?
Teebs replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
errr... Kaos got up and walked over to me,then rolled on her back and went to sleep. Atlas looked at me.. and went back to sleep the Kitten ran over and tried to stick his head in the speaker.. so seems my cat is a better dog than my dogs are! -
yeah.. i am glad my guys are black, they dont get as dirty...

No comments on the litter but being vaccinated against KC does not stop them getting it. Every year i have vaccinated Kaos she got it, i no longer vaccinate against it. When i worked in the kennels we had a huge outbreak for it, one of the vets said it can travel in the wind for up to 1km, i have no idea if that is true but someone here might confirm it. if one of your dogs has it your other dog would have come in contact, saying that. Every time Kaos has had it, Atlas has not. She has had it 4 times and he never showed any signs of being sick

im going to try to get there on the sunday

Bullterrier , And Mature Breeder Dog Questions ,

Personally I would never take a dog over 10 weeks of age. Others are happy with older dogs :) It's personal choice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

The bully head can depend on lines. People always ask me why Atlas isnt a roman nose... drives me nuts! Ats dad had a much better head than Atlas, but i still love my boy :D I have had the 3 breeds you are looking into. Our Bulldog was a lovely dog, one of the best dogs we have ever had. You could do anything to him.He had a lot of health issues, but looking back we did not do the research on the breeder when we got him. He died 2 weeks after he turned 8, his heart gave out on him. While he was laid back, if something started a fight he would try to finish it. I also used to work at a kennel where a Bulldog stayed from time to time. He was a nasty dog, the owners let him get away with anything and if he didnt get his own way he would try to bite you. Duke could be a stubborn dog if he didnt want to do anything. He grew up with cats and while never had much to do with other dogs, when i took him in for 2 weeks while my parents went overseas he came to work with me every day and got along with the dogs and cats there. I had a SBT growing up and have another now who is 7 in a few weeks time. they are VERY different dogs. Zeus was very laid back where as Kaos is full on, she has issues with dog aggression and can be a big handful. I have found her very easy to train and she loves doing what i ask her to do. She has not slowed down one bit since the day i got her at 4 months old! My Bull Terrier is totally different to my SBT, he is pig headed and will only do what he wants to do. He was very hard to train, it took me a long time to work out what worked for him and to teach him, i used to go home crying from obedience a lot He is 9 this year and very laid back, i have worked with BT breeders and not all of them are as chilled out as my boy Both my dogs live with 4 cats and are fantastic with kids and people. My cats range from 10 years to 14 weeks. My new kitten has been here for 2 weeks today and it only took 4 days to get him and the dogs together. I think it is great you are looking at getting an older dog. you need to know what you want out of a dog, SOME dogs live their life outside so you need to toilet train them, some are not good with kids, cats, other dogs.. you need to trust who you are getting the dog off so you get the right dog for you. As for male Vs Female. My female SBT was much harder to toilet train than my male BT. My BT was entire till he was 3 and until recently has never once toileted inside my home or anyone elses (he has health issues now and has the odd accident inside ) Where my bitch will run off and hide if she isnt sure of the house and go to the loo. I have also known bitches who will mark! Pop into the bull terrier thread if you are after anymore info :) http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/105987-bull-terriers/] the 3 breeds you are looking at are all very different, do your research on them all before picking what way you want to go. As for your wife thinking that all BTs are horrible dogs... she needs to know that it is not the breed that is an issue, it is the individual dog and any dog of any breed can be aggressive. I have been abused when out walking my SBT and once while walking the bulldog about owing such horrible man eating dogs Here is a photo of my bull terrier Atlas and my new kitten This is Bell and Duke - These two only met each other for the first time about 10 mins before this photo was taken these two have a love affair going on: -
Going Away For Two Nights.... Best Option For Dog? Help!
Teebs replied to chichihuahua's topic in General Dog Discussion
i would go with 2. At least you know your yard is safe and the dog cant get out. I have been pet sitting for 8 years and only ever had one dog not cope with it who ended up in a kennel. I also leave mine home when i go away -
I have a bull terrier and Staffordshire bull terrier and 4 cats. They have no issues, it did take a bit to get them all to like each other but now are fine. I cant see an issue with what you want, but you need to make sure you have the right dog with the right temp. Maybe you can list what you like about the breed and we can help you find something that will suit?

My instructor was a bit hesitant on letting me use it in class, treats were doing nothing she wouldnt even look at the treat let alone eat it... after one lesson instructor told me to bring the water every week LOL

Totally agree I have been bitten by one of my dogs once. Totally my fault they hurt them self. I grabbed their leg to look at the wound and got teeth in my hand for doing so. The whole time i did whatever connects my mind do my body wasnt working. I was thinking "shouldnt do this, dog is a sook, you will get bitten, get the muzzle first" but my body moved first and yeah i got bitten. My hand was out of action for a few weeks. I have also been bitten breaking up a dog fight (not my dogs) the owner was horrified but i took the risk jumping in the fight and would never blame a dog for something that i did that was stupid... god, if you gave kaos a water pistol she would keep doing whatever it is she was doing.. i used to train her in class with a water pistol! Best reward for her.. on the other hand, if i even get the water out with Atlas near me he freezes.. i have a EMPTY water bottle i use to punish him.. it hasnt had water in it for 5 years but the second he sees it he stops doing whatever it is he was doing  you need to find the right punishment for each dog, as you can see by my guys, what one sees as punishment the other sees as a massive reward

I feel in love with the looks of my breed. I grew up with a SBT so knew they would fit into my life. When i researched the BT i knew they would fit. Had they not have fitted i would not have gotten them, but my love for my breeds was totally on how they looked
-
I knew when i was 7 what breeds i was going to have when i was allowed to :D I am starting to look into my next dog (wont be until one of my guys are gone) I always said i would stick with the BT and SBT but i really am loving the looks of the French Bulldogs and the DDB. I need to work out if their Temps will suit my lifestyle or not.

We had one at my old work. over 100 dogs poo a day and it copped fine, i never noticed it smelling ever. Keep talking about getting one set up here.. can you put cat and dog poo in there? or not?

My cattle dog was the same, if i was naughty i would run out with him and tell dad to come get me. dad would just sit down inside and smile.. and tell me i have to come inside to eat sooner or later My dad put up with it because the dog was a great dog and he knew it would protect us kids, we took him everywhere with us and the only time he ever tried to protect us was when we needed it. He was fine with mum and dad as well as long as they were not trying to smack us
