I have heard of them but never really looked into the breed, but now i want one

I was lucky and got to meet a Glen of Imaal Terrier this afternoon, a lady who came into work told me she had one and i asked her to bring him in to meet me. And all i can say is OMG I AM IN LOVE!! They are such a boofy headed breed and this one was so sweet, just wanted to have cuddles. He was stunning! I am not normally a 'scruffy' dog fan, but this guy was awesome! Need to do some research on the breed now!

My staffy can get out of every crate i have ever put her in, she just puts her head down and rams it till it breaks open. For toilet training i taught mine that crying means they go outside, Atlas was 7 weeks old when i got him and in all his life he has messed inside ONCE - when he was very very sick. Kaos wasa bit harder to train. But both my dogs as puppies got taken out every few hours to toilet during the night, rain hail or shine, they learned that it was not play time and they had to go when i took them out, i would stand there until the went. They now still cry when they want to go out, and i dont get mad about it, they have to have some way to tell me they need to go~

When The Time Comes How Do You Tell Your Child?
Teebs replied to casowner's topic in General Dog Discussion
Please be honest... I went to school one day and came home to find our dog gone.. Dad told me she ran away I found out later that she had cancer and was PTS, i was so heartbroken that they didnt tell me and that i didnt get to say goodbye. I was 7. -
You could always tell when we had Staffords in at the kennels, we had this sound all day every day... so glad Kaos is broken and doesnt do it good luck with it

I am not going to get into all the arguments. but just want to say that I have in past used a prong on Kaos (via K9 Pro) and it was the best tool for her. I had so much more control over her and it made walks so much fun. So many people who didnt like them were amazed at how gentle they were when they tried it. I havent had to use it for a while, i just went looking for it this morning and cant find it, i hope i havent lost it. I had a disagreement with a famous trainer over these a few years ago at a NDTF course, he told the whole class they were against the law in NSW. I told him a few times that that was not true, but he told me he was right and that was that.

his reaction does not surprise me, i have had a run in with him years ago about a dog that wasnt well at a kennel i worked at.
-
not my two now, but my old Boxer was the best for telling us when a storm was coming. She would start running laps of the yard - the neighbours all used to keep an eye on her as well to see what was going to happen. she did it about an hour before the storm hit
-
I have never not had a dog in my life, grew up training and playing with them. But Atlas was MY first dog that I had total control over when it came to training. He drove me nuts, but i got there in the end He was in the highest obedience class, huge thanks to the trainers who helped me get through to him! He is still pig headed and pushes the boundaries all the time, but i wouldnt give him up for the world!

Ring the local taxi co op - when i worked at the call center a lot of people took dogs. I never had one turned down as there was always a driver willing to take them

Damn!! Together we have a whole bed! I have the cushion of the Stay Dry Basket, but the basket itself was eaten.
-
That is what i use for my dogs - fleas were really bad here last summer and my guys got none, was great
-
I couldnt do it, both my dogs are to be PTS if anything happens to me - The cats, if mum and dad couldnt take them and Sumos breeder couldnt take him back, they would also be PTS I rather that then have them end up in the wrong home
-
... Came home to find this in my back yard... she had a great time! No photos, but Atlas has eaten everything you could think of. The review mirrors were taken off my old car 2 times, phones, remotes, trees, a beanbag (7 years later and my neighbour and myself still find beans in the yards!) a DVD, blankets, toilet paper, countless books, important letters/cards/notes and god only knows what else - i even found Nemo in his poo once... he ate the nemo magnet off the fridge
-
LMAO, kaos does this.. picks the pool up and drags it - thankfully not inside (Dust Angel has some great photos of her doing it!) How funny and i love the whole "i should be getting mad at you - No Gus No - but its just to funny so i will sit here and laugh" thing she has going on
-
We have had 2 years of bat problems here. I saw my first colony of them a few months ago, i almost crashed the car i was so amazed. I have NEVER seen anything like it, the numbers of bats were amazing and the damage they did was shocking. It looked like those haunted houses on TV with bats flying everywhere. 2 days later they were gone... i dont know how you would cull them? They moved so fast

I have used Jet Pets and loved them, I flew the cats from Syd - Perth - Kalgoorlie then later flew the cats and Atlas from Kal - Perth - Syd - Orange. Had no problems and would use them again
