  1. Ok, just been told they do not have internet at the moment, I will print this thread off and pass it on to them today!
  2. thanks guys! I am going to email them and pass this link on for them to read so they can have some more info!
  3. Hi all, I am posting on behalf of a friend They have a 12 - 18 month old German Shepherd, Harvey. A few months ago he got very sick, it turned out to be Meningitis, he was on a heap of medication and thought he would not make it, but he did. He was ok for a few weeks, but last week has gone down hill again, they have started him on steroids, one every second day, but have not seen much of an improvement, he is not really interested in doing anything, he is not eating much and is cold all the time I was talking to the owner the other day and they are so worried and just dont know what to do, I said i would post on here and see if i can find any more info out for them and get back to them Has anyone's dog had this? How did you help them get over it? Thanks Cin
  4. I voted No Atlas was only desexed because of health reasons, Kaos was done because when I got her, Atlas was still entire and I had no way of keeping them apart, so she was desexed before her first season PERSONALLY, i will not desex a male unless there is a reason to do so, I can keep my dogs safe and in their yards and do not feel i need to have them desexed - Females I would get done, but only because I dont want the fuss of them being in season BUT at the same time I can see why people agree to it, I see so many people out there breeding litter after litter who are just in it for money.... I almost have my SIL and her Hubby talked into not breeding, they are getting a bitch and want puppies, they wouldnt listen to me at first, but over time I have mentioned a few things and had a huge chat to the Hubby about it, and he had no idea about BSL, or how many dogs were PTS each day... Netball next week, I will have another go at it then
  5. How does he like the car? I did NSW to WA - 4 days in a car with 2 dogs, one coped fine, loved it, the other hated it and I was ready to kick him out of the car at Dubbo! On the way home i took Kaos, but flew Atlas, much less stress for him (not for me)
  6. Atlas - never Kaos - I can walk out to the mail box and she will be excited to see me! She isnt allowed to jump all over me and knows I wont pat her till she sits down, so it isnt too bad!
  7. Just want to say - Neither of my dogs have more or less training than the other While Atlas takes longer to learn, Kaos learns fast, but needs reminding over and over and over till she gets it - Where because it took Atlas longer, he seems to remember it easier!
  8. Whites are better than Reds
  9. Freaky red Bully Lovers are taking over the place Goes and hugs her BEST EVER coloured dog
  10. Atlas will sleep outside from time to time, but they love being with u, I am not a fan of keeping dogs outside, when I am home the dogs are inside. Personally I would never take any dog that was an adult, I want a pup who I can shape and socialise myself, but many have taken on older dogs and had no problems as for colour, tri colour is the best  from what I have heard reds are pretty popular, I have helped raise 2 litters and they only had white and brindle pups, but Ats litter has 2 reds! Get a tri
  11. He is a bit of a dick I find Kaos sheds way more than Atlas, I can give him a good brush and most of it is gone, but her hair drives me NUTS!
  12. Oh Atlas isnt a fan of the vets he grows and crys and goes nuts, my vet is used to him and just does what needs to be done, while cracking up laughing at what a sook my Big Tuff Bull Terrier is
  13. Damn, Bully is typing... Her girl is an Angel and makes all our dogs look naughty
  14. I remember with Atlas I was having trouble getting him to "finish" - sit in front of me, then get up, walk around behind me and sit next to me. We went over and over it, took it in small steps, used different food, had other people handle him. He would NEVER do it One night i was eating KFC - Atlas on the lounge, he saw I had yummy food, got up, sat in front of me, got up and walked around behind me and sat next to me! After trying to hard to get him to do it, the bugger did it without a command! I could have killed him I cant see me ever NOT having one in my life, he has driven me mad at times, but god he is a funny dog!
  15. they also gain about 100kgs when they fall asleep in a spot you dont want them to be, making it impossible to move
  16. I would like to say that i would and could do it.... I guess as long as I could have their ash's back once it was all done, then yes, I would be ok with it
  17. If sticking sugar on it helps my dog get out of pain, i am happy to do it!
  18. I have a 6 year old Male Bull Terrier and a 5 year old SBT bitch, both desexed The Bully is top dog and bullies the SBT from time to time, but nothing to bad. I have done more training with Atlas than I have with Kaos - He hasnt done it for a while, but I did do obedience with him, we were in the top class, meaning mostly offlead work, he was great... BUT - it took us a long time to get there pig headed dog he is!! Atlas lives with 3 cats and my other dog, he is great around cats, but I cant have him play off lead with other dogs - he was good until he got attacked when he was about 3 now he isnt too fussed on other dogs and likes his own space
  19. i can vouch for these guys I used to use him heaps before my spare freezer blew up Now i have no room to store my bulk food
  20. Really? Wow, never heard of that, will remember it
  21. I had to take him to the vets a few times, this was only last year, he is 6 years old and was desexed when he was 3, so no idea what made him start to do it? I had the KY and god only knows what else - i was told that cold water can help as everything will shrink once he got cold, but never actually tried it
  22. This is a thread I would usually start My boy went through a stage of having it stuck every day, was driving me nuts! thankfully he no longer has any problems, no idea what set him off, but so glad it doesnt happen anymore!!
  23. Bull Terriers - They do talk, it can be a low moaning sound and they are not growling at you! SBTs - Some of them do not talk, they are broken
  24. It is amazing how bloody much they can move! Kaos can move the clam shell pool full of water all around the yard, i cant move it if it is only half full!
