Ndtf V Delta Instructors Course
Teebs replied to charlie mouse's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
The way i see it is this, Delta teach their way, thats it. NDTF teach all different ways of training, then tell you to use what works for you -
I loved it :D At was a good puppy, he did chew... but that hasnt changed in the last 7 years he picked up toilet training very fast and was a great pup Kaos was a bit older when i got her, she had some toilet training issues, but nothing too bad I love puppies... Now... as for Sumo ... I dont think i ever want another kitten again

I live alone, so no one to fight with, BUT, Atlas adores my Dad, At and I lived at mum and dads for about 4 weeks when I first got At, then moved out, but when Dad is here i get totally ignored, Atlas sits and watches dad all the time and wont do anything I tell him to do
-
Hmm, The last answer i wasnt sure what to put Kaos gets SA when left alone alone, she is fine with me going, she is fine with Atlas going and me staying, but if Atlas and I both go she goes into panic mode. I usually put her inside with the cats and she is fine with them, so she only gets worked up when she is totally on her own.

Out of curiosity, why do you hate leaving your dogs inside? There's nowhere mine would rather spend their day than on my bed, fast asleep in comfort... because outside they can go to the toilet as needed, run around in the sun, inside they have to sit in their crates, not a nice life being crated all the time, and i hate doing it.

I can see both sides - When i worked there we never had appointments, just walk in, it was a total pain if you were doing something like washing a dog, or medication and had to drop everything to show someone around, of if the dogs had just all been out and had settled back down and knowing going out was going to stir them all up. But, at the same time, we had nothing to hide, so anyone was welcome at any time. Saying that, i would be a bit sus if they wouldnt let the staff show you around, seems a bit weird to me?

If she has not had a breed assessment done, i would contact someone and get that done, if she is deemed a Pitty, there is nothing they can do, they can not rehome/give her away. If she is a Pitty X you can then get a Temp Test done, if she passes, she is free to live as a normal dog and can be rehomed, if she fails, she must live as a restricted breed - no rehomeing

There is much you can do without taking on a dog -People just want to know you will keep an eye out for their dogs in case of an emergency. You dont have to take the dogs as foster carer all you need to do is watch out for them until we get there to get them out or more help. Sometimes its as simple as checking the water is O.K. because the owner has had to be away a bit longer than they expected. Its basically what many of us assume our neighbours or family will do for us but lots of people dont have neighbours or family to rely on or they dont trust that their animals will be seen as important enough to be a priority in a disaster. They just want to know someone who understands how much they love them is in the wings if needed. then i pretty much do that - only the not wait for you bit, I am on centre links list and they contact me if anyone is having any problems caring for their pets till something else can be sorted... might suggest they contact you guys as well

:p At has had a few stuck doodle problems but nothing else, he does hump his pillow once in a while, thank god he has never finished off!!
-
fantastic work! i would love to be involved and help take on a dog, but at this stage i can not have anymore dogs
-
good luck with it i would like to know more about the PACERS plan and what they do My dogs will both be PTS if anything happens to me, they both have a heap of behavioural problems, my cats, mum and dad will take them, if not, Sumo back to his breeder, Fanta PTS and Bella rehomed. I rather PTS then have them in a kennel for the rest of their lives

I have had experience with a spinner  He started when he was just about 6 months old. You need a behaviourist ASAP, you need to talk to someone who had experience about this, I was on a few forums about this, let me see what I can find for you, i will be back! Bullys link is the best place to start, but they are not in Australia -
Sasha's Blend - Does It Really Improve Joint Mobiltity?
Teebs replied to toughgirl27's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I am the same, i have tired At on SB or JG and no sign, the cartrophen injections make a huge huge improvement - he has arthritis in his front feet, at this stage he is only having the injections as needed every few months (he is only 6) but think once winter hits I am going to have to get them pretty regularly -
I am so sorry for your loss
