  1. Another question on this subject. Where there has been a successful litter after Pyometra, Have any of the females from the resulting litter had Pyo??
  2. Especially at Royals but often out in the street I get asked what my Sibes are crossed with. They are actually looking at my Finnish Lapphunds The only thing they have in common is a sort of similar face marking
  3. Awesome effort Megz You must be thrilled if that is the "start" of your show year
  4. All sorted now. I had to ring Dogs NSW where they gave me "another" joint membership number (that doesn't appear anywhere on his paper work) and I was able to enter him then with no problems
  5. I have always entered online for Sydney Royal. The strange thing is that the dog that has been to the royal a number of times is the one not being accepted.
  6. I am having trouble entering multiple co-owned dogs with different owners. Anybody know how I get around this or each entry is going to be $30
  7. That's just horrendous when good people get screwed over by profiteering scum bags I feel sorry for all the Sibes and Mals that haven't been and won't be rescued because of the closure of this shelter
  8. Only shows on in NSW on that date are the Combined Northern Canine Club cluster at Hillsborough (Newcastle) 4 shows in 3 days
  9. Have just been discussing this very thing with a friend in VIC. Her council does regular check ups to make sure she hasn't gone over the two dog limit. Even if a bitch came to be mated and that should result in a noise complaint, they told her it would be a $100 on the spot fine Thank goodness I live in NSW and we aren't governed by council, but the NSW Companion Animals Act. No dog limit, plenty of off lead beaches (where I live we have 27) and a once off registration fee per dog.
  10. I wish we had a breed speciality but unfortunately we are still small in numbers but we are getting there !!! Mid Nth Coast/Forster-Tuncurry Cluster Awesome weekend attended by many and well run

  15. Since ID is taking care of the Sibes, here are a few Finnish Lapphund prefixes from Australia THELDAROY ARMAHANI WATERSEDGE KIAHZH WEISDALE MIRAWEE SIBERMOON SETAREH CLWYDCELT Not sure which ones are "current"
  16. Has anybody found that staining is more common in one colour over another in the Siberian Husky? I know with my red girl she has a very slight stain in the corner of her eyes, upon closer inspection it is actually coat colour. That said, she does suffer from hayfever and will get the sneezes in spring or when there is a lot of dust blowing about. The information here has been very enlightening
  17. Oh Carlibud, so sorry to hear of your loss. Another beautiful girl gone to soon to the Lots of hugs to you and the family
  18. Hi all, I have just had a request come through from my Brother because of my association with the great people in the dog world. My nephew, who is 3, suffers from epileptic seizures, about 12 a day unfortunately. He is a gorgeous kid who has already had the bad end of many health issues and is known by his first name in the local hospital Emergency ward. Not a good thing for anybody. If they manage to get through a month without Darryl going to hospital, it has been a good month. Anyway my brother has asked if I know of any service dogs in Australia that detect seizures. Now I know there are some overseas that have been trained, but I am appealing to anyone who knows if there is training done here in Australia to either post or PM me with any info they may have. They have been in contact with an organisation in QLD that won't even consider them because Darryl is only 3. When has a need for assitance come with an age restriction???
  19. Satin Balls are the BEST thing to put weight on a dog or to give a boost to a sick dog
  20. Words aren't enough to express my feelings over her loss Lots of hugs Chrissy, Koby & the rest of the Sibe tribe
  21. What a great tribute to a great looking dog. He certainly looked like he gave you lots of love and fun times while he was with you. Thank you for sharing this special man with us.
  22. Yes it looks like they were all baited. Unfortunately for Jessie she was so young and no as strong as the other full grown dogs. It has left us all devastated here to think that there are people out there that would do such a terrible thing to an animal. I can only think what her last hours must have been like.
  23. It is with a heavy heart that I come to this forum to relay the news of a young ones life cut cruelly short. Jessie ( SnoFyre Jessie's Girl ) left her loving owners, Amanda & Melissa, today in a most shocking way. She was found in her backyard this afternoon, along with two companion dogs, critically ill. They were all rushed to the vets, but sadly Jessie didn't make it. She was not quite 4 months old. The other 2 dogs are not expected to survive either. Jessie was from my first litter She was my first girl in the litter She was the first to open her eyes and the first to walk. She was the first one to get out of the whelping box and always the first to get into mischief and now sadly she is the first to don her Silver Harness and cross the Rainbow Bridge. :p She may not have been on this earth for a very long time but the impact that she left on so many lives will be felt for a long time. Run free little angel.
