Sorry Perse. They're bad for you (and me) if that makes you feel better. And @Roova! Bloody hell! Some people have way too much money!

Advice on dog breed with limited shedding
Scottsmum replied to puppylovefor3's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ekk! My pound puppy clearly missed that memo. 3 months on and I'm still finding dog hair and I've had the carpets cleaned! But as PK says - welcome to the forum. -
Guys, Syn Tek on is sale at k9 pro. My absolute all time favourite leash is one of their Syn Tek ones. Full Dislosure - I didn't like the collar - but I bought it in a bit of a rush and always suspected it was too wide. However, it was waterproof and that's why I wanted it - so it served it's purpose. Anyhow... Get yee a bargain. (*I'm actually tempted to buy more even though I don't have a dog - sad but true and I'm glad I'm broke. LOL) Oh - and while I have a boring brown (possibly black?) one (which always got comments for being such a nice leather lead) it also comes in some great colours like pink and purple too http://k9pro.com.au/shop/leashes/syn-tek/ http://k9pro.com.au/shop/dog-collars/water-proof/

Talk to your vet before adopting (article)
Scottsmum replied to _PL_'s topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
He was "on trial" in theory we could have returned him & had we found something very serious we'd have discussed probably returning him. Eg. He'd not been HW tested during his stay in the shelter & we weren't prepared at that time to take on a HW dog. (Harsh but true). -

It's tough. He was on trial, but Im an experienced enough owner to (semi) know what I was getting & knew the vet extremely well. She'd have died of shock if Id walked in with anything other than a foxie. Can't say for sure but dont know that a vet would be the first place I'd go for adoption advice but If I walked in with a giant mastiff type I knew nothing about id listen to the advice given (hypothetically course). Saw this the other day: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=840359176133482&substory_index=0&id=468943616608375 And it raises a good point which I think is the crux here too... is your vet/GP the right one to give you this advice? I suppose the flip side is, if not, who? -

Interesting. I had an independent vet check done on Scottie. -

My aunt got married in a Catholic church last year & the priest kindly turned a blind eye to the dog we snuck in ;) -
Well... I love your vistas Perse. But I do know how lucky I am!
-
That's pretty cool!

No. Just brute force I think hes a big cat by any measure & Rosie is a flake of a thing. I did laugh when he flattened himself out.
-
I'll call this 25. Backyard fence wars continue. Rosie "the fence cat" moved in and staked her territory after Scottie died. But this boofer has been muscling his way in (I assume its a he) and bullying her. We don't see much of her now & I think its his fault. I watched him from the window while I did the dishes this afternoon. He went into stealth mode when I went out to try and grab a photo.

Oh. @Roova - they're delightful. & thanks You're too kind. I did snap one this arvo - which I will post soon. I'm sure there are things - I lined a bird up the other day - then the lil shit took off .... ha ha ha. I'll be back. Just need to get out and about more. .

Loving the shots. I think June is / was officially a write off for me. I'm not getting out much between shitty weather and not being 100%. I'm missing my main subject and I've been pre-occupied with other things and work's been a bit feral. I've also joined the gym (yuck) to help avoid the it's too cold / too wet / too yucky to go for a walk - funny they were never options with a bossy foxie to be walked! But it's far from appropriate or inspiring for photos. We'll see... I'm content to remember June as a bit of a nothing month - but I do want to keep playing. *Oh - but on the plus side - I finally upgraded from a 4 gig SD card to 32 gig SD card for my phone - so that is one excuse out of the way.

Your pair really live the life CT!

A happy post today. "Our" stuff being used
-
Lol. Nope. Imagine Wal saving dog as much as you like. And yep. Its where the dog walking group meets weekly. I still pop along
-
He's cute. Is he related to Donny boy by any chance?
-
I took it along with Scottie for a long while. I didn't feel like it was helping, until I stopped taking it. It's pretty good stuff. Scottie would drink it in a chicken "broth" (the juice off poached chicken). Which was only an occasional treat. Otherwise I'd just pop the serve into one or two balls of beef mince. Never touched the sides. I'm sure he didn't know it was there. I do find it more manageable and (personally more) palatable when it's made on coconut oil Vs olive oil.
