  1. My little Rennie is home again. You were my shadow and I'm realising now my heart dog xxx
  2. You came to live with me in August 2009 fitting in as if you had been part of the family all your life. It was obvious that your life had been hard yet you were so trusting, you loved everyone you met and they loved you back. I've never seen a dog get so excited about going for walks, the moment you heard the jangle of the leads you were at my feet waiting for the collar to go on, you would be nearly doing backflips while waiting for me to get Titchy's collar on, bouncing out the door and halfway down the street. In January 2010 you started having fits and was diagnosed with epliepsy and a severe heart murmur, medication took away your playfulness and some of your bounce but you were still such a happy little man. I knew you weren't well but I didn't expect to lose you so soon to your heart problem. You brought so much joy into my life....finding it hard to believe you won't be coming home. Even thought its been a week.....the pain is still raw....missing you so much little Rennie xxx
  3. You have a Rennie from Renbury too?! Piccies please! I'm not sure what area she was in, she was picked up as a stray. Here he is, sorry about the small pic but can't seem to get them any bigger. Promptly burst into tears! lol. Oh, little angel What's his story? How long have you had him? I CANNOT believe his name is Rennie, he's from Renbury and he looks like my Rennie!! I want to know everything! Oh nooo..sorry YG I think he came from heaven He was picked as a stray back in Aug 09 and was a last minute save. Apart from being very underweight, having a slight heart murmur and missing most of his teeth, health wise he seemed ok, it wasn't until about 5 months later he started having fits and was diagnosed with epliepsy but medication has kept them under control. It's the heart murmur now that we need to monitor as it's progressively getting worse each year but we have a good vet and his quality of life is excellent...there's alot of dancing and spins still left in this little man

  17. Last Sept I adopted a rescue dog, a Chi cross who originally came from Renbury, being a stray his age was estimated between 2-4 years of age. He was an extremely timid little fellow who would cringe when touched, wasn't sure how to play with my other little dog, there were a couple of scraps between them to start with but you could see he had a lovely nature and how much he loved people. By December he had really come out of his shell, his confidence had improved so much and he really bonded with Titchy, it was lovely to see him play with her and them run around like a pair of maddies. Last Sunday I woke to him having seizures, to cut a long story short the vet diagnosed him with epilepsy so he has started on Phenomav which has stopped the fits, he has been a bit docile for the first week and a bit unco, he has always been a bit like that, its just more noticeable now. He has also become a bit snappy towards Titchy, its almost like he has regressed to how he was when he first came here. Curious to know if anyone else who has noticed personality changes in their dogs with epilepsy. Also wondered what effect a break in may have on a dog, my house was broken into the day after he started fitting and they came through the window in the back room where he was, while there were no obvious signs of injury, the whole thing has made Titchy a bit skittish, but poor Ren was so unwell it hard to say what affect its had on him. Sorry for the long winded post...have been trying to write this for the past week.
  18. Hugs to you and you family Kelpie-i Rest in peace Buddy
  19. Ren my chi x is a walker too...he holds one leg up in the air and half squats and walks while he does his number 2's.
  20. It says on the packet in teeny little writing its a non-toxic fertliser so have spread it onto the lawn and watered it in to be on the safe side....it's spitting out there now so fingers crossed we get a little rain to help it break down even more You were right Horrie it is a fine granule....wasn't quite sure what to use but remembered reading that granules were a better option for my hotch potch mixed lawn....was more worried about the effect it might have on the mutts but a woman in Bunnings said it was ok in that respect. Thanks for your quick responses guys, really appreciate it.....as does Ren & Titchy ;) Lou x
  21. Just wondering if anyone can advise if these granules are safe to use with dogs. Their website has no info available on their MDS and doing a search on here I can't find anything. So am taking the lazy way out hoping someone may have used it or knows a bit about the product Many Thanks TD
