OK, Harden Pound needs more winter bedding. Blankets, towels etc. Avoid anything with stuffing so they don't get destroyed by the puppies :) They have plenty of coats ATM- PM MUP Coota and Gundagai could do with med/lrg coats - MUP Walgett needs medium to large dog coats. I'm sending the rest of my smalls out there but they do get lots of pups through who will use them all up. - PM Ninahartland Please PM me, or whoever's name is next to the post. Aussie Post has a parcel calculator and I've just discovered I can use a vaccuum bag to get up to the 5kg prepaid satchel limit, I could only squish 3kg into a 5kg bag before.

I sooo understand you wanting to save your dog and keep him with you but the video says it all. That's a dog in terrible pain. Like dogmad. I lost 6 dogs like dominoes over 2yrs and only one died at home hours from her final appointment. They don't know they are dying and don't just let go of life when they should. They hang on for you and fade in front of you, you have make a choice so they don't suffer. My thoughts are with you. I'm so sorry.

Definitely start with Jill at JRT Rescue. She knows her breed and her dogs. -
I recently had a senior doggie eye removal done due to glaucoma. It was so sad to see him go from happy to sad overnight but the removal brought back my happy old boy in a few days. eta: Not that you have to! I just wanted to reassure you it's ok for seniors and was a positive outcome. :)

That cat was so fast!!! I imagine he was watching the dog too. Go kitty!

^^this. "Donations" are paying for people's holidays and boozy lunches. It's not that hard to register and do the right thing if you really have nothing to hide.

They whelp around 63 days so a spay now would mean recognisable pups and some people struggle with that. But if he has no experience and nobody to hold his hand, and isn't financial enough to do vet checkups on mum, whelp, raise a healthy litter and worm/chip/desex and rehome them appropriately then a spay/abort is what should be done, no matter how squeamish it may make him. Why did he not do anything when she came in heat? Or start seeking help from the rescue 6wks ago?? She could have been desexed when those pups were just jellybeans and he wouldn't be complaining about it now. This story makes NO sense. So is this new group using their own clause or someone else's? If you get no resolution then you need to get the clause holder involved.

With the older females...we got 6 in a row Only one, a large rottie cross, was hours away from not making it. She was bloated, miserable, ill and just generally tired. Preferring to lie down rather than walk or stand. There's a whole story to that poor girl I believe the antibiotics the pound put her on for her eye somewhat held her over and in the end she recovered and was adopted by her carer. The others, and anyone since then, were at different stages and did fine afterwards. At the beginning you can't really tell without an ultrasound or until they open them up and the uterus is (from what I can gather) sort of blobby and filled with fluid.

T I know you want to help but HC would be a nitwit to start naming this rescue at this stage. It's as silly as starting a thread when it's obvious the rescue hasn't even been contacted. Why? Why do we have a thread? Is it because you already don't like this group/individual involved and people will ask you via PM?

Has anyone informed the rescuer? It's good manners. I'd wait until you find out if a vet deemed the dog as already desexed before you jump up and down. And call the rescue immediately and get a yes or no on paying the vetwork. It could be a dodgey move or it could be an innocent mistake. And to answer your questions: No, there is nowhere you can report this to except possibly the pound if they are one of the ones now wanting desex certificates. And pet rescue if the dog was listed there. No the rescue has no legal right to take the dog and pups away from the owner. None. Yes technically he could claim expenses but if the rescue refuses it would have to go to Small Claims which is why you should try to sort it out now, in a reasonable fashion and mutually agree to terms beforehand.

The images of a turkish dog who had been raped and tortured to death will stay with me forever. And the perpetrator was known but there was no law to protect the dog. We can argue the finer points of pet ownership and welfare but this country is starting from scratch. Their animals need protecting with basic rights like those in countries with RSPCA et al. The Lets Adopt Global site is having trouble loading, you can find them on FB. I'm not sure I know of a larger Turkish rescue group and their dogs are adopted internationally, but I warn you of graphic content.

The OTT 'Let's Adopt Global' rescue/advocacy movement began in Turkey, and they shone a light on some of the gruesome animal abuse and the vile conditions in shelters. I'm pleased the govt is at least recognising there is a problem. Without reading the legislation in detail I'm sure it contains a few pointless items but they had to do something.

Who is she anyway? I plan on kidnapping her yorkies. The poster, I find it really tacky. And I've never been a fan of rescue angels saviour type stuff either so add PETA to that and, no not a fan.

PR used to pay people to do that!

Didn't work for us (Pound List) nor did making 'postcard' type things with the notes included. On top of that, you get called a dog killer by all the crazies if you try to have some control over how much you're enabling these pound dogs being flogged on FB with absolute lies as temperament notes. -eta: actually, if your pound isn't noticed by PR yet, you might have a chance :) the postcards were easy to share and not that hard to make. It's worth a try.
