  1. I need contacts for some dog food companies for our local Obedience Club. I have been searching for a while, but haven't come up with much. Would anyone have contacts, email & or mail address. I know it's a long shot, I'm not palming my work off on to others, I'm just struggling to come up with anything. Any contacts would be greatlly appreciated.
  2. Poor Geelong :D . I really do feel for them. Mum & a friend were heading up on Friday night, they were in Werribee when they recevied the phone call. (I couldn't help but laugh, they had been driving for 3 hours in peak hour traffic ) They were in good spirits though. :D
  3. Thanks everyone. A letter arrived from the Vet's today. Sent to Pop C/O us. It's a hand written note saying how sorry they are for his loss. Also included were two poem's. What a lovely thing for them to do.
  4. Our club lets you use whatever you wish, within reason. The dont reccomend you use a harness (so many people have tried). Most use food now days, but some still use a correction chain. It's a case of personal choice and whats works best for the members. All dogs are different.
  5. Thank Sway & ReXy....I think I'll be on a high for a while now
  6. I finally got in touch with the VCA today and it has been confirmed that my Jack Russell Terrier Pippa (Dual Champion (T) Palanquin Persephone) is THE first and only Jack in Australia to gain the Tracking Champion & Dual Ch (T) titles!!!! She passed track 6 last August, just took a while to confirm :D :D :D Sorry, I'm just a little excited :D Had to share
  7. I know who it was, he wasn't judging on the day. Nice bloke who was just pointing out that I may get into trouble if I continue to stand outside the ring while Millie's in the ring. I'm actually glad he said something, I would have kept doing it Millie doesn't usually care if I am outside the ring or not, she concentrates on what she is doing and on mum. (well...most of the time ) Mum's judge didn't say anything. I have learnt a lesson and will keep my distance from now on.
  8. I worm the dog's at the start of every new season, along with the horses
  9. Thanks for the replies everyone . I can see where they are coming from, just never gave it a thought before Does make sence when you think about it. I will from now on, watch ring work but leave for the stays.
  10. It was a judge who mentioned it, and I trust and value their opinion. I just wasn't sure if I was allowed to stand out front and watch or not. There is more chance of Millie coming out to see me than anything else but to someone who doesn't know that, maybe it is seen as intimidation (sp?) or something I think I'll play it safe and watch from the car from now on. I was quite embarresed at the thought that some people thought we might be cheating
  11. We were at Hasting's Obedience Trial (great trial by the way ) I was standing outside the UD ring watching mum with Millie as usuall (not very close). She was last in the ring and I thought I would hang around for the stays (Millie had bombed by then ). I was standing outside the UD ring, not thinking I was doing anything wrong, but someone came up to us after it had finished and told me I could get into trouble for double handling In future, I wont be anywhere near mum's ring as I don't want to cause any trouble, but I was wondering what the stance on this. I was told if I was standing to one side I would be OK. I like watching mum in the ring, cause she likes to know how they went, can I watch her in the ring and leave for the stays, or is it best to watch from afar?
  12. We may be there, if we don't get lost Mum entered without working out where it is. It's quite a drive for us.
  13. Mum will be there with Millie chasing her 2nd OC pass (she got her first last week ) I may be there, if it isn't too cold
  14. My Pop's 17 year old Jack Russell was given his wings this afternoon  . He is now resting up the top of the garden with old Bluey. Pop lost Bluey to a tragic accident about 18 years ago and really missed his mate, who went everywhere with him. Mum brought Spotty from a breeder (or so she thought) in a local town for Pop's fathers day present. When she picked him up he was smelly and riddled with flea's. After a good 4 baths and a good flea treatment he was good to go. Pop was over the moon with his gift and then started the friendship of a lifetime. Spotty went everywhere with Pop, hunting with the ferrets was his fav past time, but he also enjoyed his time with Pop up the Pub. He enjoyed his time up the swamp at duck season, waiting at camp with Nan and us kids for Pop to come back. About 6 months ago, Spotty was accidently let out and went missing. After searching for a day, he was found, waiting outside the Pub. I remember when I was little, I used to love going to visit Nan & Pop so I could take Spot for a walk. He is the reason I am in love with the breed. He was such a little charmer. He had a great life, spoilt rotten, the only time he went out side was when he needed the toilet, otherwise it was on the back of Pop's couch, and in his bed at night. RIP Spot  Will love you always Sorry the post is a bit scrambled, it's harder to write than I thought.
  15. The Jack Russells: I don't measure in cups Pippa & Paige have two handfulls of Eagle Pack and a chicken neck once a day (both around 5 - -6 kg's Bubba has three handfulls of Eagle Pack and a chicken neck once a day. (6.5 kg's Once a week they will have a lamb neck cut in three. Also one a week, the chicken neck is replaced with a tin of sardines. The Weimaraners: They all have a small breakfast (some soaked dry or biscuits) For tea, Lucy has two cups of dry and two heaped spoon fulls (the big plastic ones, not desert spoons ) of BARF mixture Mille has the same, but not as much dry. Zac has two cups of high fat dry and about 1/3 of dog roll (it's the only thing that will keep his weight. He also has a little BARF mix. They each have a chicken wing each night. I'm not sure on the Wei's weights as they are my mum's dogs.
  16. Interesting. I feed my guys Eagle Pack and chicken necks every night for tea. They also get a lamb neck (not a whole one) once a week. Their breath is still smelly. I might make a trip to the health food store
  17. Nope, that would have been Jeff & Michelle. We have normal Weimaraners :D
  18. We were there. BIG trial! My mum was entered with our Wei Millie. They ended up with a UD pass in the morning, but not enough points for an OC pass. In the afternoon she was going really well until she went for the wrong glove Leopuppy went well (I think, it looked like Leo ;) ) I still havent managed to introduce myself I fell asleep in the car as it was soooo cold.
  19. Our dogs love them but the cats wont touch them
  20. I was watching Queer Eye the other day and they said to cut sand paper a few times to sharpen them. Not sure how harsh it would be on grooming sissors though
  21. Yes, he is a terrier  But, if you don't get on top of it now, it may get worse. Do you have a crate or maybe a small room where you can put him for time out? Everytime he starts nipping and wont stop, put him in time out for just a few minutes. This may help.
  22. My mum & Aunty were there. Mum bombed UD with Millie, she is trying out a new trick, she will pick up the articals, drop them and just stand there looking at mum. Little ......... My Aunty was sitting on her first Novice pass but Dee broke both the stays, something she has never done before. I was going to come and watch but couldn't get out of bed
  23. My mum's going with our Weimaraner Millie still chasing her first OC pass, and my aunty will be there with her Sheltie for her first try in Novice. I'm going to the Boolarra Rodeo and Ute Muster instead
  24. I tried the bitter apple spray with no luck. Vic's was the only thing that stopped the chewing. It was our brand new wall unit, I just smeared some on the bottom, one sniff and she never touched it again.
