Roy the Border collie got missed he got added - I should jsut wait don't all the DOLers have wonderful names for their dogs!

just keep checking and if your dog does get missed out for any reason just post again any foster dogs of course can go on the list, mine were always treated as part of the family when I fostered and any crosses just put them down as "staffy x" or what they are

My friend who breeds golden retreivers has had a few litters this year last year I'm not even sure that she had a litter as she went on the show circuit her reason for more litters this year is so that she can have new dogs to show next year every litter is presold and has waiting lists she gets health certificates for all her dogs and most if not all the dogs that are bred from are Champions so I don't think all breeders should be judged with the same brush eta and to clarify that it's only one litter per bitch

my golden retreiver at that age loved his chicken wings, good source of calcium and good for his teeth

ahhh I was mixing up the shiba with the akita sorry! glad photo was posted of them. Inka, I often go to dog shows just to have a look, now I have a show dog that is about to change. All I used to do is wander around, have a friendly smile on my face, say hello to the dogs and then if the owner started to talk I would talk to them. Some would stand there all day talking about their dogs, some look so busy that it's best to say a quick hello and move on. Of course never pat a dog without asking its owner first. I've met the most interesting people and heard fascinating stories from just initially saying hello to the dogs.

I took some work files home in my work suitcase the other night Mocha and Latte were playing around the suitcase and then started to become obsessed with it's contents so I just put all the files in it and zipped it up interviewing a client, open up his file and a chewed up cardboard toilet roll comes flying out of it

I would extend her run I wouldn't let a dog roam around an acre without supervision if you are home and can keep an eye on her not a problem, otherwise into a run

pate does the trick even with the most difficult of pill tablets. And lucky the cheap Don pate does the trick, Hope a solution for Trixie's problems are found and that she feels better soon

my friends' chihuahuas do this to me when i visit. I have been bitten by them. They snap at my dog at training and bark at her just when i was trying to get her confident about going into the shadows. they bite the trainer. Yet it is laughed at because they "are small" by their owners. Why should they be excused from this behaviour when my bigger dogs would be declared dangerous if they did this? Why do their owners allow them to behave like this when I would never allow my own dogs to and would be horrified if they did. So I can well believe that this dog did run growling and menancing at the person.

we love our dogs, we treat our dogs like they are our family but sadly our dogs don't live as long as most people maybe we then shouldn't have dogs but how sad and empty our lives would be, missing out on the joys that our wonderful dogs bring us so I enjoy each and every day that I have with my dogs, count my blessings and keep them healthy and happy. I have endured the heartache of losing three of my beloved dogs but their memory still lives on in my mind and I am glad that I did share my lives with them.

and it is very important that you do provide for your animals when you do pass on whether this is a topic of sunshine or not. Tell your friends, tell your family, put it in your Will what your exact instructions are. Think about whether you want your dogs separated or not if you have numerous dogs.

first up I am no expert butI had the same problem with my Onslow who would sit everytime I stop. So you have to know a few seconds in advance that you are about to stand, put the lead in the right hand, then stop say stand and at the same time with an open palm facing towards the dog run your hand from the left of his nose to around his left side and hold him up on the tummy side up near his hind legs. I would then say "stand" again. I wish I could demonstrate it to you but this is what has worked for my Onslow and now I just do the command near the nose and he stands

Latte is busy ripping up the old lounge, haven't got photos of it yet. It was going to be thrown out anyway but Onslow loves to sleep on it at night. when I go in to give him his goodnight kiss and cuddle he looks at me as if to say "it's not me mum doing the damage"
