Is Pineapple Ok

So it has worked for you? I really want to break this habit once and for all! I've tried the pineapple thing before but never kept it up for more than 2 weeks at a time. This time I will give it longer. How long did you do it for before Bronte's habit was broken?

Damn, shame it wasn't fresh figs. My neighbours tree drops loads of green figs into my yard which both dogs take great delight in shredding into a hundreds of bits, often through the house - pesky.

Collect them and dry them!

Pineapple is high in proteolytic enzymes but you are better off using fresh than canned. The canning process kills off most of the enzymes. I use it as part of a parasitic control program as the enzymes help to break down proteins. Depending on whos research you read the "poo eaters" are obtaining proteolytic enzymes from the "poo" they eat - so it could be one reason for doing it.

I believe pineapple is fed to dogs to deter them from eating their waste???

Yes that is true, but it doesn't work because I've tried it.

mine would eat it when we play in an off leash area nearby. She doesn't eat her own - just others.

Would be a bit hard to make all the neighbourhood dogs eat pineapple.
