Thanks everyone. :D The puppies are little piggies and gaining lots of weight.

Congratulation Gumnut.

Sorry to hear about your babies that did not make it. It you an emotional roller coaster being happy about the puppies that made it, but sad for the loss.

Looking forward to pictures.

I'm really mad at myself for it :mad

I am sure you did everything you could. It is always a better outcome in hindsight.

I started to blame myself for losing our pup "if I only took her to the vet sooner", but I made the decision at the time based on what I knew then. Of course if I knew the pup was stuck I would have taken her straight away. If only dogs could talk!

Congratulations to the new arrivals. Never blame yourself, just be thankful for the healthy puppies that you have.

I also lost my 2 last puppies, I do know that I did everything right and for some reason those last 2 didn't make it

Lucky for me we still have 7 very healthy babies about to wreak havoc within a few days. I cannot believe how fast the last 3 weeks have past.

I just cannot have enough of these babies, they are so special.  especially after my 3 year wait.

Gorgeous new babies, Hugs to those who have some that didn't make it.

Hindsight is always perfect so don't beat yourself up, easier said than done I know.

And yep coming out sideways isn't really that good!! Silly puppy. Glad the other babies and mum are all good though.

GIPFEL is awaiting the arrival of possibly 9 GSD's in a fortnight. The lovely girl Brandi (sable) bred to the UK import Genja (black/tan). We're hoping to find a nice boy in there for us.

Shouldn't you be in the april thread?

Jett had her x-ray today, Stuart could see 10 puppies but said there could be more as some of it was hard to see  . He also revised her due date to 28th but said if she didn't have them by Wednesday morning to bring her in, so he could check their heart rates. Sandown say the 29th and me, well I thought it was the 31st but forgot its only 61 days after surgical AI not 63..... Sooo basically Stuart said watch her from Sunday onwards

What an absolute S***** w/e. I had a sick puppy who I had to take to Emergency specialist clinic on Saturday afternoon, he spent two nights there, but home now and all OK. One good thing is that the nurses started him on puppy food so when I got home with him this morning I gave the others some and they all took to it straight away. :D

PS, provided everything goes OK, one of the male puppies will be going to Finland. I am stunned, but happy to sell a puppy to Europe. Most of the bi-blacks in Europe have American bloodlines, whereas ours are all English. Am delighted to think that our kennel name will be behind some dogs in Europe. :D

Sorry to hear that you had a sick puppy and I hope that it continues to do well.

Congratulations with your sale to Finland

I will have to take some new photos, mine are climbing out of the whelping box now and are giving mum a hard time,

the only thing is that they are not big enough yet to reach her boobies when she is standing.

Last night Jett gave birth to 10 puppies, 8 bitches and 2 dogs. 2 of the puppies were stillborn (1 dog and 1 bitch) we tried reviving them but no success :rainbowbridge::cry:

She had the first 4 puppies in 37 minutes. First puppy appeared 5 minutes after her waters broke. About 10 minutes after puppy #6, she gave birth to still born number 1, followed by stillborn number 2, 13 minutes later. Puppy number 9 25 minutes later and then the last little puppy 42 minutes after that. Gave her a shot of oxy 25 minutes later at request of the vet just to make sure there were no more and to clear her out, last puppy was breech.

They range from 281gm - 393gms....average weight is about 320gm. One pup has double rear dew claws and 3 other have rear dew claws. None with cleft palate.

Mum and puppies are doing really well. Will post photos when I get a chance, need to have a shower and wake up a bit

ETA: Jett was kind, she stared whelping at 5.43pm and finished at 8:52pm but it was hectic during those 3 hours!!!
