Acd Wanted

Some friends of mine are after a cattle dog. Must be farm friendly and good with other dogs, they have sheep and chooks but they are fenced off separately. They also have a bossy female JRT. I can't remember the rescue site for ACD's? Is there even someone who specialises in them? It will be a lovely indoor home on acreage. Older retired couple (but healthy/active etc) so probably best not to have a dog that bounces off walls.

Cheers.

Australian cattle dog rescue. Depending on what state we at central vic rescue are acd rescuers as well

A local small rescue group here has a few ACD cross pups but they look very ACD. Not sure if they want a pup or adult dog? You could also try Australian Working Dog Rescue or Sophies Choice (?www.sophies-choice.com) And Red Colar Rescue up this way usually has a lot of cattle dogs and crosses, pretty sure they have a few now and they are in desperate need of rehoming some dogs.

We've just got a lovely little ACD cross girl in from one of the pounds - she has shortish legs and is kinda large (read Cardigan) Corgi sized. White with tan spots, and gorgeous blue eyes. She's somewhere between 6-12 months old and gets on great with other dogs of all sizes. We can test her with a couple of sheep, but don't have any chooks to test her with. She has an adorable nature and loves her cuddles. We don't know how she wasn't adopted by anyone straight from the pound - she is a dream dog!

We have tentatively named her Sweet Pea... *grin*

She will be available for rehoming in a couple of weeks or so.

Sorry, only just remembered about this thread as I saw my friends again today. They are still keen for the right dog and I have found one who sounds AWESOME on Pet Rescue. He is with AWDRI. Are they are DOL does anyone know?

Your girl sounds a little young Tdierikx but thanks anyway. They really want a more mature dog. While their girl is a sooky princess she is by no means dominant so needs a soft natured companion who won't bully her.

Still open to other suggestions, just quietly hoping that the ACD on Pet Rescue is still available. They aren't fussed if the dog is a cross breed but do like the working types as they've previously had ACD's.

I would give them my first born, they are just such lovely people and can offer a brilliant home.
