I know that a lot of Golden breeders are now vaccinating closer to the 8 week mark and keeping the pups until 9 weeks of age. I use this time frame to allow as much of the anti bodies passed on by the bitch to have left the body so the given vaccine will work. Vaccines given under this age have been known not to work.
