My Greyhounds Were Attacked Today :(

Recommended Posts

DD I didn't expect anything more from Council...I still don't :(

Unfortunately it isn't just Council's - this sort of attitude exists in private enterprise too. But that is a whole different story.

As it is, I am glad that the article was as hard hitting as it was. Maybe, with your example in front of them, other people will start to speak out.

I didn't hear about a Grey getting killed in Kariong Hazy. How terrible :( It is just happening way to often to innocent folks & their much loved dog's. Something has got to be done to protect them surely.

Pretty good article overall HazyWal! I've found that journos often exaggerate your comments (the whole 'fighting for their lives' thing) and sensationalise and can often mis-quote too. Seems like overall though this one went well.

Yeah thanks Melz, I did say to the journo there are three things I do not want in this article. Do NOT make this about greyhound racing, do NOT make this about greyhound muzzling laws and FFS get the breeds right...if I see the word pitbull heads will roll :D I'm not backward in coming forward :o

LOL they still mis-named one of the breeds but two out of three ain't bad when it comes to journos!! Haha

I would like to have seen the pics of their injuries in the article,so people really understand what happened, they look none the worse for wear in those.( not that I am saying you did a bad job with the article), just brutal pics may have hit home more.

People need a wake up call as to how bad it gets.

Yes Karen and Terry's beautiful gentle boy also called Stan was killed by a roaming dog in August while Terry was taking him for an afternoon walk. Even with the help of neighbours and passers by he died from his injuries on the road in front of his devastated dad  This dog has never been caught, it is still out there...somewhere :mad

Oh how horrific Hazy & another gorgeous Stan :(

I just can't fathom the sheer terror of an attack like that this guilty dog is still out there which makes this horror even more scary. Who's next ???? :(

What a lovely boy he was :( Please pass my sincere condolences to the tramatized family Hazy.

R.I.P. lovely Stan. Run free sweet boy....

I'm sorry Maddie is suffering. You work so hard to convince them other dogs aren't going to kill them and then you find out the dog was right. Stan as always just looks so " groovy, babey!" What a character.

Good on you for getting the word out there.

I am lucky in that where we walk our dogs there are rarely any loose dogs around.

Hugs to you all again, and I hope Maddie can recover emotionally.
