My dogs aren't really into beds, lol. The fav sleeping place currently is a hole they have dug in an undercover flower bed.

3 sleeps to go for me! I am not as organized as you guys though, still need to get a couple of things.

I was going BARF over 10 years ago so it was certainly around 6 years ago. My breeder does a RAW/prey diet and both pups I have got from her have been fine on Premium dry food.

Old dog seems to have trouble getting her balance on squishy beds. She chooses to sleep on the carpet inside now as she struggles on the nice bed to get up. Am a bit worried on having a non-squishy bed down on the concrete though. Worried the cold might seep up.

Gosh my dogs bed hop a lot. In the last 30 mins, Poppy has been on each bed! Fern has got out of the bed. Brock has got in a bed.

For those of you with multiple dogs - do you have a bed per dog? I currently have 3 dogs and 3 beds, plus a kennel. It is fairly rare for all 3 dogs to be on the beds. Trying to work out if I need bed number 4 for new puppy. Has anyone found a good outside bed for a dog with dodgy legs/arthritis? Old dog struggles to get into the trampoline bed sometimes, well the getting out is more the issue.

I love beagles they are so cutely norty!! They crack me up.

That is interesting both my boys have loved everyone but my girls have been devoted (to the point of obsession) with me.

1 desexed boy, 1 entire boy, 1 desexed girl, 1 entire girl. Didn't really notice much difference except the entire male broke a stay to go say hi to a bitch! Didn't notice any training issues with the entire female.

I am a 'want it now' type of person. I don't like waiting for things. Don't think that makes me an irresponsible owner Waiting for this current pup has driven me nuts! Sometimes people do have reasons for needing the pet ASAP too. I wanted a pup in a big hurry once because my old dog had passed and my other dog looked like she was willing herself to die. I also decided I wanted a kitten in June. I didn't realize that this was 'off' season for purebred cats. I almost almost considered a pet shop cat but the values held. In both cases it took a lot of effort to get my pet. A lot of effort! I can see why a non-crazy-animal-person would just go and get one from a petshop faced with this. Dealing with the cat breeders also reminded me of what it was to be a newbie dog owner, some of them were not very nice! Why go through that crap if you are not passionate about animals & puppy farms?

I've had 2 boy borders and 2 girl borders. I have preferred training the girls. They have just been more focused, more into it.

Amber was bred by Braeloch kennels. Poppy & Brock both come from there too, although Brock has a Khayoz prefix. I wasn't looking for another puppy but mentioned that I liked the sables and the breeder told me she planned to do a mating that might produce sables. It did and Amber is gorgeous regardless of what colour she is. So it was all very lucky.

I think that you should get a breed that you like rather than one that you think would be good at sports. I do sports because I have borders, I don't own borders so I can do sports You need to live with them the rest of the time that you aren't doing the sport.

I don't think I would like to live on the road that my dog club is on .

I am not going to say it is 'safe' as the pup still isn't fully vaccinated. It is a gamble that you take. If you don't take them at that age then they miss out on an important socialization window. Make sure that you pick a pre puppy school that has good disinfectant policies. You don't want to be out side on grass for instance. The floor needs to have been cleaned, people need to be taking their shoes off and washing hands. Carry your pup into the class too. I have always taken my pups at 8 weeks.

From what I have read about pugs and breeding I am amazed someone managed that many pups! They don't appear to be very easy breeders. Lots of sad stories on the breeders forum anyhow.

Definitely agree with the ease of buying from a pet shop. Also think that they just don't get why it is wrong. The usual response is that they have saved the pup and will give it a good home. They don't get that the parents might be suffering to produce their pup and that if people like them buy the damn things that the puppy farms will keep doing it. Just lack of care factor really.
