  1. My immediate thought was that they wouldn't be as harsh, because I have seen plenty of people walking dogs on check chains who haven't got a clue. ;) I would have thought the noise would be muffled. I would also think that it would be very easy for an owner to know whether the dog/s were reacting to the noise. The noise comes first and then the tightened chain :D
  2. OMG! I've just thought of something. S/chick at the park calling, "Dyl, where are you? Dyl?? Dyl??" Person at the park, "Who have you lost?" S/chick, "Dylly, my Dally." Well, I though it was funny :D
  3. Looks normal to me :D I know how you feel. That bed looks so snuggly and to have Dylan as well ...... what more could you ask.
  4. This is the horrible part of it. People who steal dogs and other animals have no concept of how much suffering they are going to endure .... and care even less, I am sure ;) But it is just so wonderful that he is home.
  5. OMG how fantastic. His family must be totally over the moon.
  6. "But darling, it's just a bit of hot air ."
  7. Oh gosh, that second one is priceless. Look at Xena's little mohawk because of too much sweetness overload - LOL.
  8. What a little honey and that gorgeous Kasey wins the prize for Best Buddy Ever.
  9. Wow!! Fabulous dog, fabulous place!! I love the one at the top of the stairway. I'd like something like that in my back yard - LOL.
  10. Not sure which way to tackle this: Just about sorted myself out and along come those pesky flies. I'll show them who's boss:
  11. It has been said a squillion times, but I WISH THEY COULD TALK ;) Maybe Pepper was just plain jealous!
  12. Well, I am sure the judges have heard my shrieks of laughter - that is just sooooo funny. Off to vote, though!!
  13. Oh, Casowner - such a shocking loss you have all sustained. I just loved your posts about Jake and how you obviously had such a special bond and understanding of each other. After your thread about the Echidna, I checked on your threads to see what I had missed since the death of Angel. Such shocking news, Casowner. Jake was a dog in a million. My deepest sincerest condolences.
  14. Never be backward is asking questions, A.C . That is the way everyone learns.
  15. What a terrible thing to happen to little Hugo. My deepest sympathies to the whole family. Run free little man.
  16. You do understand that the concept of 'an for an eye' puts you into the same catagory for violence and abhorrent behaviour as the people committing crimes against animals and other people., don't you? (and saying you don't mean to be harsh but they should be killed really doesn't make sense).. As I said in another post, Cordelia, I think it is time we dropped the mantra of retribution puts us in the same category. The fact is that so many violent people understand only violence and for them to be met with kindness or leniency just means that those dispensing kindness and leniency are weak and to be disdained. Why do people who hurt people and animals smaller than themselves: because the see those who are smaller and weaker than themselves as easy prey. I think it is about time, cruely to animals needs to be met with something harsher than, "Now you know it isn't nice to hurt the puppy. Go away and be a good girl." Remember a few years ago, a young man was convicted (but didn't receive any punishment) for torturing a kitten who had scratched him? I saw on the television news footage of him walking out of the court: he was grinning grinning grinning grinning. I hope the judge or magistrate was made to watch that footage every day for the rest of his/her life.
  17. That is just so special Not necessarily. For a kind person, doing something like this would be just a nice part of their day.
  18. It is awful when they are so upset they just can't get back to normal for a while. As you said, though, he was so excited that Pepper was playing he couldn't even start to take on board the new messages she was giving. For a little chap who has been very neglected and who has been with you only for a few days, he is doing amazingly well. I loved the video ..... and how Madam Pepper came in and just bowed as though saying, "Well here I am; consider yourselves very privileged to have my presence."
  19. All this is pretty bad form . I don't understand why people have to lie, but they do and I have experienced very well known and respected rescue people/groups telling absolute porkies. Very sad. I have also been trying for three months to get a Change of Owner form from a rescue group . Off Topic: before you have your dog operated upon, get a few opinions. Lots of little dogs have luxating patellas and never need surgery.
