  1. Is anyone entered in Lithgow this weekend, and if so, do you have numbers yet??
  2. Group 3 BIG - WEI RUIG - Irish Setter Baby - Irish Setter Intermediate - ESS a pointer and another ESS got puppy and minor puppy, not sure which got what though.
  3. Thanks Alyosha - well done with your puppy as well. Your dogs are stunning.
  4. My Golden Caesar got Baby Puppy in Group!!!!!!!! So excited, first class in group for me EVER!!! Almost a year to the day of showing. The baby puppy whippet in show is a nz import I think, owned by my Phoenix's breeder - Buffalo Kennels (Mike and Sandra Patterson) - we didn't mind losing to it lol. I thought RUBIS was the Brittany. Alyosha - Were we sitting next to you by any chance - near the gundog ring?
  5. I bought a cheap pair from Big W, they are very similar to the Sketches & Rivers ones. I probably need to buy a new pair soon as they are probably getting to the end of their life. Don't know how many times they've been through mud but they've held up well.
  6. Yay, well done..... I had the exact same problem with Phoenix, got in trouble for having the lead in the wrong hand! Phoenix stands (as in obedience) by himself well, BUT he doesn't stack himself, I have to move him into position, and once I start doing that he starts moving his feet! Food is definately my friend in his case.
  7. Entered my Phoenix in his first Neuter show for this year, Robertson on 12th March..... anyone else going?
  8. I'll be there Friday, got my numbers today, 3 LH Wei's which I thought was quite a small entry considering the ACT wei club show is on after judging on Friday. Only 19 goldens as well, again, thought there would be more. 39 Wei's though... that's huge!!!!
  9. Hi, Apparrently the show is going ahead ....the committee had one temp reading at 40 then at 5.30 it was 39.9, 5.33 temp 39.5, 5.34 temp 39.6, 5.44 temp 39.7. So according to the heat policy all well to go ahead. This was posted on the OzShow........that .3 degrees in temp does make a big difference......nothing like promoting responsible dog ownership...NOT Agreed, 40.0 is too high, if the extreme policy comes into effect at 35 degrees, why have it go to 40 degrees before its cancelled.... it should be closer to 35, for the comfort of everyone, including the judges and stewards, some of which are no spring chickens.
  10. I've entered two of mine, but I'm not going, I went outside about half and hour or so ago and it was 41.7.
  11. What breed are you looking at. Some breeds it MAY be harder to get a show pup then in other breeds. I know when I was first looking at getting a golden to show it was quite difficult, I got a different breed first, and one that I adore just as much, and now that I am in the ring with her, I haven't found it difficult at all to get a golden to show. Once you prove you are serious it's not as difficult. Having said all that, when I got Willow (LH Wei), I also looked at 2 or 3 other breeds, and all of the breeders I contacted were quite willing to sell me a show puppy if that was the breed I went with. I was upfront about being unsure if that was the breed I wanted, and I asked a lot of questions about the breed. I think it helped that I wrote them an essay introducing myself, how I looked after my dogs, what dogs/s I currently had, why I wanted to show etc. I was lucky with Willow in that her breeder put her in my name outright, BUT I was fully expecting to have her in joint names, especially as she is a bitch. I don't think there is anything wrong with that, especially if you are new to showing, and I wouldn't not go with a breeder if their only stipulation was to have the dog in both names. JMO. It's a way of protecting their lines, from an unknown so to speak.... it's not foolproof, but I think it helps.
  12. cool, thx CD... that's really good shipping too.
  13. oooh, where from. you should order 2 and sell me one lol.
  14. thanks KG - how exciting, entering the show world I assume you have a breeder/litter picked out.... any hints on where you are getting him/her from, PM if you'd prefer ;)
  15. I got my first choice just recently. It is made up of the first initial of the dogs I've owned in my life up until that point, the last three letters of my name, and the first two of my partners.... it's a made up name, but has a nice ring to it, wynwhisper. WHISP are the letters of my dogs names (both living and dead). I had a lot of things that would of been fairly breed specific such as goldnsilva and even made up names with the chemical symbols (AUNAG) which I'm glad I didn't get. I had a few that had german words (as the wei is from germany), like Drache (dragon), and some using the word hund (hound) I'm useless at coming up with names though, most of mine were crap and there would of only been a couple that I really liked.
  16. Here's my cheeky devil. He should start in Baby Puppy on about the 22nd Jan. We are having fun stacking him (or should I say trying to) at the moment. Kaparla We Will Rock You - Caesar
  17. Well I got one, for the price I am happy with it. I see what you mean about the brakes though. It's a little high, but I can lift Willow up and groom her on it so I think it'll be fine. Not sure how we'll go with Ceasar once he is fully grown though, I could probably help him on, but he'd have to be lying down on it for me to groom him properly I think. Willow and Ceasar get in it fine, Phoenix doesn't like it, we may have to work on that! Arrived in two days... got to be happy with that!!!
  18. Yep, I forgot to add my other goals. Phoenix (Golden) needs the rest of his points for his neuter championship too... I think it's about 64. Willow (LH Wei) needs her last 25 points after turning 12 months, we are down to 19 points left. I'd also really love Willow to get a class in group, I don't think that will ever happen, so I will settle for ANY LH Wei getting a class in group this year at a show I attend (NSW).... they are very few and far between.
  19. oppps, strung! I keep meaning to put some photo's in there as well.
  20. ok, had to go searching for this thread. Introducing my new show boy, "Ceasar" - Kaparla We Will Rock You. The stacked photo's aren't perfect.... I'm still trying to learn, and he's very squirmy. He's about 9.5 weeks and will be entering the ring in late Jan, assuming the paperwork is processed into my name soon enough.... He has a huge coat, and is very fluffy at the moment.
  21. thx for the info, I have bought one, hope it doesn't take too long to be delivered. Thx everyone.
  22. Thanks Yarracully. Sounds promising. Will probably get one
  23. Is your newer one from vebo as well or from somewhere else?
  24. Thanks for the replies. Still not sure what to do. Thanks Shell.... I may have to go and have a look. The crate would need to fit a golden or a wei. The wei is fairly small though. I'm not very tall so if it's quite tall I may have trouble trying to use it as a grooming table, which I did want to do as well.
