  1. I am so sorry to hear this Springy RIP Max, run free little fella
  2. LOL Tiger, my puppy is a year old now and she is still an evil little bugger!
  3. I feed all my animals (cats and dogs) on Royal Canin. They love it and do very well on it, we also mix in some BARF patties and fresh bones.
  4. The one I used is the above one, not sure about the other two. Mackay is a bit far away from Brisbane but Jane might know someone to recommend closer to the OP
  5. If he is constantly stinky I would also wonder about his diet? Cherry (small cross breed with long hair) was constantly stinky, she always had a bit of a rash that would come and go etc. I changed her over to a super premium dried food and I have no problems now... she is nine years old and it is amazing to see the change. No more rash either!
  6. Yep, she has used Jane's expertise this year
  7. Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know Daisy has not been as touchy about her ears since she got home yesterday. I think it helps that the infection is gone, they must feel much less sore. I will keep an eye on it (obviously) and keep trying to desensitize her to having her ears cleaned.
  8. Yeah I know, when she gets home I am going to try and desensitize her although I don't think it is going to be easy LOL.
  9. Daisy comes home tomorrow so I can check out her ear again, fingers crossed it is nice and clean and yeast free
  10. Taking a few days to reply is not unusual, Jane does have a job etc I know in the past when Jane has taken a while to reply to me it has been because she has had internet issues I don't know if this is the case now I didn't try anyone else, I didn't want to waste my time so I contacted Steve from K9 Force and got him to recommend me someone. I trust Steve and I knew he would point me in the right direction I don't believe there is a 100% cure for aggression but it can be managed. With aggressive dogs you need to acknowledge their limits and what they can and cannot do. The progress you see in your dog and any changes made are entirely up to you (when you have had the right advice) and how much time and effort you commit to training - and how well you follow the advice that has been given to you. I noticed small changes in my dog quite quickly.
  11. I think Jane is away or has been having issues with her email/internet (again) as I emailed her a few days ago and haven't heard back. She is normally very quick to reply, I am sure she will get back to you ASAP.
  12. Wow. That sounds a bit ridiculous? Why would you need a private session if you just want to do some basic obedience training? Wonder if it has anything to do with it costing $200.
  13. Sorry Yes it's in north brisbane, about 15 minutes from the airport.
  14. A friend of mine went to puppy school there and thought it was ok. I generally recommend the puppy school run at Metro Dog Obedience club, it is in Chermside so I don't know how far away that is from you? http://www.metrodogclub.com/
  15. C&Z, I really can't offer you anything more than to go and see Jane
  16. I don't think a dog that still needs to get used to kids would be aggressive around them. JMHO. I have not had anything to do with the Paw man but I know some people who have used him and weren't happy. ETA: LOL about ABC Kids I loved those shows
  17. I don't know if Jane puts a time limit on her support. When I contacted her, we had one training session. She then emailed me a training program for Micha and since the start of this year, has offered me constant support via email. She even helped me with my beagle, via email even though Micha was the dog we paid to have the training session with. I don't really look at trainers in terms of the package they offer, what is important to me is the support, knowledge and experience they can use to help me fix my dogs issues. ETA: Jane's own dogs came from severely abusive backgrounds and have had aggression problems. She has a lot of experience dealing with FA dogs.
  18. Christal - as I said before - as Val agrees with the assessment made with her trainer I would not be giving her another go as it is sounds like it is not a program you want to work with. As said before being near children at this stage will do Zorro more harm than good.
  19. Yep. You can get them from Coles. They are made by VIP and called Chicken chunkers (they also come in other flavours) http://www.vippetfoods.com.au/dogfood/fres...n+Chunkers/1kg/
  20. Personally C&Z if you do not feel you will get anywhere with those methods and she agrees with the trainers original assessment (that: "If they (kids next door) are unwilling to work with you, I have a concern that Zorro may never overcome his aggression with children and you may need to look at alternative housing for him.") then maybe you should go with your gut feeling. You obviously know who I recommend working with the rest is up to you ETA: I would never force a fear aggressive dog into a situation where they are fearful, as others have said.
  21. What about a martingale style collar? http://www.blackdog.net.au/index.php http://www.k9force.net/index.html?row2col2=mart.html
  22. Maybe try mixing in some BARF patties into the dried food? My Sibe was a picky eater at that age at if he didn't eat his food within 15 minute of me putting it down, tough - he could wait to eat until the next feeding time (sometimes the next day).
  23. Maybe try some steamed/boiled chicken? That's what I use for training.
  24. Daisy is so cute when she hi-5s, I also taught her hi-10 I used a clicker, it was very helpful.
